So of course I went to Yelp for suggestions and didn't see a lot of options for photographers in our area so I created a job request and waited for experts to reach out. I was super stressed because the only day all kids were home from college & adults were available was Thanksgiving & Black Friday. Big order, I know. So, we were contacted by several excellent experts but none were available for the limited availability we had until Whitemoose Photography reached out and they had a photographer named Kapri who was available to come on Black Friday. There was an additional charge for coming on a holiday/Black Friday which I gladly paid and was so excited to finally get some good pictures of everyone together. The shoot was fun and Kapri brought a good energy and fit in well with all of us. Prior to Kapri coming I asked if she had a green screen or something to create different backgrounds for the senior pictures. She did not have a green screen but she brought a white sheet as a backdrop and said so she would bring a white backdrop so she could insert different backgrounds for the pictures and insert some fun backgrounds to our daughter's photos. We booked her Senior Pictures for the same day with Kapri. I asked before she left fter the shoot when we could see the pictures and was surprised to find out we needed to wait 14 days. Just to see the proofs. I let her know we would be traveling Dec 12-24 so if we could get them before the trip it would be something fun we could look at on the plane. Kapri sent a text 3 days before the promised delivery date asking if I had had time to review the pictures. Her email messages she sent never came through to my email or an alternate gmail account address I gave her. Thank goodness for the Yelp app because it allows you to send & receive messages as well as links to the pictures. When we finally got to see the pictures disappointment was the consensus of everyone that was in the pictures that saw them. I contacted Kapri and let her know that with her awesome energy and how much fun we had during the photo shoot we were all disappointed and surprised with the final product. Also all the senior pictures had a white background instead of different city scapes like we discussed and no filters were applied to any pictures. I don't know a lot about photography but I have several retired friends that are hobbyists. I asked for the digital pictures so I could send them to our friends so they could "fix" the lighting or angle or whatever was wrong with the pictures. So Kapri & I went around and around because I couldn't tell her what I didn't like about the pictures. Finally as a last ditch effort I sent her some fun family pj photos from a Google search I liked. After Kapri saw my vision her true talents came through! Using AI she was able to turn a sterile unflattering family picture into a warm holiday fun photo with all of our loved ones together! (The ages of everyone ranged from 18 to 84). Kapri said she forgot about adding the background for senior pictures and when she was done with those they were "fire" according to the younger members of our group photo and our daughter loved being able to take pictures at home instead of booking senior photos through the school photographer. I learned It's super important to communicate the spirit or inspiration of the photos. (The cap and gown photo never happened irl). Kapri was able to CREATE the cap & gown photo using other photos she took & a picture of the color of the cap & gown! I'm still gobsmacked by what a difference AI makes! read more

I reached out via Yelp looking for photographers in Houston for my wedding and Kapri responded in less than an hour and somehow had availability for New Years Eve. Her quote was incredibly competitive. Kapri got to the event venue 5 mins earlier than than the time scheduled and she was very professional throughout the entire event, She even ran around plenty to help us with the photo shoot. She put up with my rowdy bunch of friends (as you can imagine, it was a New Years Eve wedding), she worked with us tediously to find a great background for our shoot and indulged us for all the goofy pictures we wanted taken. She took the time to photograph multiple combinations of my friends and family members. She even had all the photos ready in less than 2 weeks and she did a fantastic job editing them. Kapri was an absolute delight!! She shot my wedding in May of 2017. She is so sweet and genuinely listened to the shots I wanted to capture, the photo I attached being my favorite of all of them. She is worth whatever us on the price tag, I'd pay it over gain in a heart beat. Once my husband and I decide to have kids I will seek her out for all important photos! Well, I didn't want to do this, but the threat of suing my wife and I for copyright infringement, your company has left me know choice. I would also like to share that we have had no correspondence with anyone since we decided to dispute the charges for our photo session with Kapri. To start Kapri showed up 15 minutes late to our session, and I get it sometimes things happen. Then she immediately notifies us that on her way over he camera went flying across her front seat and broke the lens she had planned on using for our photo shoot. She did inform us that she had a back up although it was not the same specs as the lens she wanted to use. At this point we should have cancelled the shoot due to the lack of professionalism on Kapri's part, but it was really important to my wife to get these pictures done. There wasn't any real direction from Kapri after my in-laws told her we did not want to throw leaves in the air because of his special needs children. We had to coria graph the photos our selves which she would comment that it looked good. There wasn't any real direction from Kapri. Kapri also did not give us the ability to choose the paper selection for our photos so we chose the only option that we were given, a matte finish. After the photo shoot, Kapri did get us the proofs within the 10 days , but did not ship all the photos we had purchased in the package we selected. The pictures were also blurry which was blamed on the matte finish paper we were forced to choose. When we voiced our displeasure about this entire situation, the fact that there was no way for her to get the prints to us before Christmas and that we had to have our own prints made, she decided personally attack my family. We simply asked for a 50% refund for the lack of professionalism and for missing the prints. This was her response "All of these problems were caused by you. Your attitude and the craziness of the small children and the yelling of the other woman with you, creating a poor working environment for the kids, led to any issues with expression. The photos look nice. Any one else looking at them would agree. The matte photo paper might lend a little to what you call blurriness and if you had been calm and just talked to me, brought me your concerns about the paper choice before you ordered, I would have worked with you. I actually can get new prints to you before Christmas. At no charge for the rush since that is what we agreed on. But you broke our line of communication and turned elsewhere. I can see my way to repaying you 25% for my tardiness and misplacing 2 of your prints. The rest of your issues in this situation were your own doing." This was the point we decided to dispute the charges with no further contact with White Moose Photography and Kapri. Today we received this email. "I'm sorry to see that you have felt it necessary to file a dispute with your bank. Please be advised that I sent over all the documents you signed and the email correspondence that we have had that show you are the one who refused to work with me on finding a solution. Please also be advised that once my money is returned to me and your dispute is denied, if you plan to pursue any further action to get unwarranted money out of me that I will be forced to counter suit you for infringement of copyright law. You admitted to me that you downloaded the files and ordered copies elsewhere. You were not provided with a print release and I was willing to overlook that so that you could have a happy Christmas and provide those photos you wanted to your family. But I will not sit idly by while you try to pawn off your mistakes to me. Thank you for your understanding in this matter and I hope it can end peaceably at this time. ~Loving Every Minute~ Kapri Durtschi" I deleted the part where she explained what a copyright is. This also brings me to wonder why her reviews are from 2018 and 2019. I would not recommend White Moose photography for anyone. read more

Kapri took our family pictures this year and we couldn't be happier. We have 3 kids (ages 3, 7, and 9) and she did a great job at capturing them in such a way that we can see their unique personalities in the photos.
