Going to Family Care Center and experiencing their "caregivers" was a colossal waste of time and a…read moregenuine disappointment. If this clinic wants to present itself as a mental health provider, leadership might want to revisit what "care" actually looks like. Walking in, I was immediately met with a barrage of paperwork focused on billing--making sure charges are clear to them, not to you. Not exactly the warmest introduction for someone seeking mental health support. The next interaction was just as impersonal. After giving my name, I was directed to step on a scale and provide measurements--no introduction, no explanation, no basic courtesy. It felt more like processing inventory than welcoming a person. Then came the actual "care" session. The provider launched into a rapid-fire explanation of all the ways the clinic can bill you, delivered with the energy of a fast-talking sitcom character. She shared that she knew I had already been given all of those details though just wanted to recap again. Then, she told me why she thought I was there which was not accurate. I asked her to slow down and please take the time to have dialogue instead of talking at me. She never asked meaningful questions or or make a genuine attempt to understand why I was there, which made any real conversation about mental health impossible. Overall, the experience felt dismissive, disinterested, and transactional from start to finish. The caregiver, in particular, seemed better suited to a role with minimal human interaction - perhaps guarding an empty museum wing, because meaningful engagement was clearly not part of the approach. I am genuinely appalled and disturbed this clinic presents itself as having any aptitude in mental health care. None of them demonstrated an ounce of intellectual curiosity or communication skills which should be critical in caregiving roles.

He had a couple telemedicine appointments with her. She's amazing BTW. My only concern is the office. I have tried reaching out to them since 2025 December because I need a proper document of diagnosis for my son to provide a document to his school. I left voicemail, left messages through the patient portal. When I looked on my messages, they marked my concern "solved", I did not receive anything from them at all. So I left another voicemail and a message that I will be paying them a visit. I am very disappointed; my son was needing this document he's struggling from school...

He is truly and genuinely interested in getting to know his patients. The treatment and wellness guidance I have received through the years have been insightful and have turned challenges into tremendous successes!

I even drove from Cheatham County for years to Brentwood to use him as a physician. He himself is a great doctors but whomever he has running his practice and billing practices has long been an issue since Day 1. I have left this practice twice. This is the 2nd time and I will NEVER be back. I am a confirmed patient and can provide any proof needed that this is not a fake review. I moved from Ashland City and was in the music industry and went to live in Brentwood an continued to see him. My ex husband even goes to him and I have referred many many patients to him . (All have left but 1 due to attitude and office). During Covid they never answered the phone, EVER. I would call and call and call. You could not reach out to advise them if you needed to change an appointment date. Their recording stated to email them at AFDBrentwood and most times they would respond but the time I informed them 24 hrs in advance I could not make my appointment - I tried and tried and tried. Could NEVER get through. Then once they answered, asked me to hold then hung up on me. I emailed, and no one ever responded so I show the email was opened on my end and assumed they knew I was not coming. I had been doing video appointments with him during Coviid and he wanted the last appointment for me to come in person and I could not due to work emergency with a Covid case for Kroger Corporate and the Mayor of Cheatham County's offices had a covid emergency. I am on contract with a company that was VERY busy during corvid as we provided germ control electrostatic spraying for the entire Government and State / Mayor's offices, fire dept., Police, Court House, Prison etc. in Cheatham County, Dickson City, Dickson County, Kingston Springs, Ashland City, Pleasant View. It angers me that I was bending over backwards to help my community when this physician's office charged me a $35.00 NO SHOW fee when I made numerous attempts and never confirmed my appointment (followup) and they sent me to collection they tell me today. I paid the $35.00 . I am FURIOUS. Do yourself a big favor and steer clear of this walk in practice . They push sleep studies and talk about their families more than they listen to what is wrong with you. My ankles were swelling for over two years and finally left went to a new practice who found I had issues with circulation and needed to be on a blood thinner. They said this issue had gone undiagnosed for some time. I must have told Dr. Monica this 10 times over my years seeing them as well as Dr. Sam's nurse practitioner and I was told "I don't know" maybe you were bit by a bug or it could be eczema. It was a serious medical issue that was not eczema and damaged my heart . I am done with medical field treating patients this way. We should charge YOU for being rude. Their billing manager screamed at me on the phone was SO rude and I told her because of her I would NEVER EVER COME BACK and I didn't. Don't treat someone that has a good career and perfect credit like I am slime on the wall for you to threaten over $35.00. !! This will take huge toll because I will Tell everyone how you treated me. I asked the physician to call me to discuss and he did not. Probably because his office did not tell him . I left him multiple messages. I Paid this bill then they denied receiving it. I had to send proof.

I was prescribed a medication that us used once per week. I picked it up and used one of the four dosed every seven days. When I requested a refill via their "myhealth@vanderbilt" website, it was denied because it had not been THIRTY DAYS. Can you do the math? Vanderbilt couldn't. The denial was delivered from the computer, via computer, via their website and had NO MEANS TO REPLY TO THE DENIAL. So do you think Vanderbilt Cares?
