I was given a verbal quote at that time and told him I'd call to schedule. I received an emailed quote that evening, called the next day and was able to schedule for a week out. This was just after Christmas. Joe came and completed the job exactly as he had explained, cleaned up behind himself and then explained what he'd done, the hazards of the products used and aftercare. That went well too, and we have just hired him to replace a deck on our summer property and renovate a screen porch. I let it go until it made me sick and disgusted knowing I live near a coward. So he turned away 10's of thousands of potential $ as well as taking that income from his family, all because of neighborhood bullies that offered no help when our property was ripped apart by other CONstruction companies. They all complained but nobody offered any help. Lots of drivebys and rubbernecking as well as neighbors walking by NOT looking and the town of NorthUmberland (Richard Collaso) fighting with our workers and causing our costs to sky rocket. Ol' Stefanus said he saw everyday when he drove by but this supposed great neighbor never offered any advice out of being neighborly. Years these neighbors saw what we went through by land grabbers attempting to steal 30ft+ Of our hillside even after we had it professionally surveyed 3 times and still were getting resistance. We hired Rich Home Exteriors to redo the exterior of our home. We had multiple issues throughout…read morethe project. The work being done seemed subpar at best. There did not seem to be any oversight by Rich Home Exteriors to keep track of the work and quality of work being done. Many of the windows that were being wrapped were improperly done and had to be redone, as well as an exterior door and some trim along the garage. We had asked them to remove some existing solid wood soffits along the garage eaves and install ventilation. Initially they simply covered over the existing wood, which did not allow for ventilation. It took a few attempts to get it properly ventilated. The threshold on our new front door was very unstable and flexed every time it was stepped on. We had to mention these issues a number of times before they were remedied. We had a number of other minor issues as well. We chose Rich Home Exteriors because of the positive reviews we had read online. However, our experience was very different from what we had read. We decided to put up an honest review of what our experience was like. It was a very stressful situation for us. We had to continually monitor the work that was being done ourselves.

However, he was not licensed and insured so I wouldn't use him. Called Rich's, who is licensed and insured, and they came by to look at it. There assessment was that the door was fine (and it was), and the rotted wood was just a kick plate. All flashing and seal around the door was fine. Just a couple of dollars to replace the kick plate and all is fine. Plan on using them for some additional repairs. I would highly recommend them.

I hired this contractor to do a drywall job in my house that had had some flood damage. He had two…read moremonths to do what was about a 5 day job. I have to say this has been my worst experience with a contractor ever. Can Jason do a good job, in terms of him doing the drywall/mudding , yes, he did for the first day on the job, of course that was the day he got paid the first two payments, after that it went downhill fast. I wanted everything done in XP (water/mold resistant), he brought regular drywall so that had to be taken back. One thing he appears to actually have never read a materials datasheet. Had he have done he would have done the ceiling in 5/.8" as my ceiling is 16" o.c., but he just did it in 1/2", so there may be a problem in the future, I didn't realize this until I read a datasheet to do another job months after. After the first 1 1/2 days he disappeared not to be heard of until I finally called him two weeks later, after that he would bring a crew for like an hour or two in the morning now and then, always after I had called. Worse than that, the crew he brought would be a couple of young guys, who had no idea what they were doing and I discovered had just been hired and this was their first building job. The guys worked hard but the work was done very poorly, also the guys get to breath all the silica dust, I offered them dust-masks but they seemed uninterested. In the end I had to work evenings and weekends to fix the screw ups and finish areas he never got to. I had a schedule with renters coming in. Close to the rental day he just never showed up at a promised data again and that was the last time I heard from him. I had to work into the night hours to ready and get it ready to paint but I didn't do a great job and his poor work, particularly corners and finishing are there for anyone to see if they look closely. I would never recommend you use him, since i am not a drywall / tape 'n mud expert it took me a long time to fix and most of the poor workmanship like bad corners I had no time to fix. I have everything documents in pictures and video if he should challenge the accuracy of this review. This job was a disaster and its the last time I will use a drywall contractor.
