None of the cuts were treated and zero care was taken to ensure rounding of the tree. For instance, they came on my property and removed a very large limb completely destroying the look of the tree. I had planted red tips over ten years ago to provide privacy and in one day Trotter's destroyed any and all privacy I had created. They clearly crossed the property line to make these cuts. Be sure that if you hire this company that you watch them closely. My neighbors informed me that the folks working for trotter told them that trotters could come on my property to cut the bushes and destroy my trees. Tears of Gratitude…read more Our yard was seriously attacked by the last ice storm in Austin. I called our wonderful tree service, Marcus, "Just Trees" and sent photos of our damage. He sent his guys today. They, a team of four guys, arrived at 4:00 PM EXHAUSTED. I surveyed the damage with the foreman, Pablo, and he looked at me, as if I wanted him to fly me on his back to Mars, and finally said, "We will do our best to address the major concerns, and then we can come back..." I left at 6 PM to have dinner with a friend, the sun was quickly setting, and there was a 35' Oak tree, bi-truncated laying on the ground, a 40' Pecan tree with two major branches fallen, a row of Oak branches...I thanked him profusely and left. I came home at 9:30 PM and used by BIG ASS Flashlight and reviewed the work. I immediately began to cry...These hardworking, amazing guys, had cleaned the ENTIRE yard. The Just Trees work that deserved a 2-star review on 6/25/2023 (see the review) was an aberration…read more Today, Tree Service sent a different crew to my home and--without charging me--this different crew spent 2 hours doing an excellent job of clearing all the deadwood out of my trees that the previous crew sloppily left. I'm still broken-hearted that the original crew cut down without reason two big limbs on my heritage live oak that were not supposed to be cut down (basically, cutting the whole limbs down saved them time). There's a lesson to be learned: Be sure that the crew chief who is responsible for work on your trees understands exactly what work he is supposed to do, and make sure he receives permission before doing any additional work that you and the arborist have NOT approved of. I'll definitely be using Just Trees in future. Chris Poth is surely one of the top arborists in Texas--and he's as principled as he is knowledgeable.

I first met Nickey Bishop back in the 90s at a kids birthday party. He had done some work on some…read moreancient pecan trees in Hyde Park for the hosts of the party. This was social networking before the term existed. He came out and took a look at our trees. A mix of cedar and oak which had not been trimmed in quite some time. Nickey suggested we trim the oaks and reduce the cedar canopy to allow more light and promote the growth of more oaks. He took me to a nearby property that he had trimmed in this way a few years earlier. It looked great. This was the beginning of my time with The Tree Tender. Nickey did a great job on the trees. On time with a reasonable price. The cedar grows quickly so from time to time he came back. Never once was there a no show or shoddy work. Nickey loves trees. I mean he really loves trees. He is The Tree Tender not the tree killer or tree butcher. The nice thing about doing business with The Tree Tender is you are always in touch with the boss. He is a certified arborist and oak wilt specialist. Nickey has been working in Austin with trees since the 1970s.I have never used another tree service. Nickey is the best. Attention to detail and a true love of trees. If you are looking at tree removal or tree killing he is not the guy.
