I had written an e-mail to this law form wanting to know why they couldn't help me with a wrongful death case regarding my pet. They had sent me an e-mail letting me know that i should call the Florida bar. I kind of knew when we put out e-mails to different attorneys that deal with animals that this might be the case. I was very frustrated because I wanted justice for my beloved pet. Then Jason Melton called me personally to explain the situation with trying to represent me regarding my particular pet and the rationale here in Florida and how the state views them. He was very kind and informative. He also explained it would cost me more money just to get a defense ready before we got really into the heart of the case. It would cost more money with the possibility of not getting the justice I wanted. He spent a good deal of time with me on the phone which I truly appreciated. He also suggested that I look at going to small claim's court because it would be less costly and usually more favorable to cases like mine. I had not even thought about doing this. The money to replace my pet was not the issue. It was more about making the owner of the pet store take responsibility for my bird dying from getting her nails and wings clipped. Anyway, Jason Melton showed me how caring and compassionate he is and I would definitely call him if I had an issue that he could handle for me that would have a good result. Once you signed the contract, you won't hear from them again. When you do hear from them, they only want to settle at the bare minimum that the insurance company will pay. After settlement, they will charge additional documentation fees AND subtract the fees for the medical providers that they referred you to. I should've gone with another law firm. read more

I signed up with Whittle & Melton firm back in 2018, Civil case , Attorney never kept me up to date on the case and they kinda milk my case and then a year later after handling the case, the attorney decided to with draw from my case. Never received any copies of any letters going back and forth with the attorneys and till this day I have not received copy of my case file. Very disappointed , my case was mishandled, I would do lots of researching before hiring attorney. I'M considering filing with the Florida Bar as well. read more

Absolutely horrific. Sent me to a chiropractor that was extremely inappropriate and unprofessional. I was never able to reach them and they never communicated to me or the claims agent what was going on. Rude staff that is not understanding and takes weeks to reply. The firm seems to have great resources and attorneys. Everyone I spoke with was very knowledgeable and helpful, but they do a poor job communicating/updating. I had to call for updates and to remind about my case, and I was passed on to a new attorney twice over the course of a few months. I ended up with Mr. Ezzell, though, who was fantastic. Once he took over, everything was communicated clearly and timely. I thank him so much for his work/help. All in all, my case resulted as positively (if not more) than expected! I needed an​ attorney to represent me in a case that was complicated due to the nature of COVID-19. I went homeless during this period and received absolutely no empathy from my attorney. When I requested a different attorney, I was told I would receive one, only to be given the same attorney with no reasons as to why. During mediation, and against my wishes, my attorney kept pushing for me to settle despite my wishes of wanting over $100,000 settlement. I ended up settling lower than I wanted as it became apparent that there was no further interest in fighting my case, as he kept mentioning "it would take years, it would be complicated, etc." When I received my settlement, as expected their office took roughly half of the settlement alone, as well as charging me for a copy of my records. As of this date I still have yet to receive any of my records (which I will be following up on), and they sent my check to the incorrect address without verifying my location, despite being in contact with them during my homelessness. read more

Attorney from this firm represented me for two years in a civil matter, never made one singlnne scheduled appointment to discuss my case in person, received a total of 4 phone calls always from his vehicle when he was in route, allowed responded attorneys free access to my full Facebook account without arepresentive to monitor their searches,and dropped resentation only days before final judgement leaving me to represent myself. Two years, 10 miles between my home and their office in Spring Hill and I never even saw his face. Typical ambulance chasing hoping for an easy 33% of settlement without having to actually do any work. Filed complaint with Florida Bar who's mission statement is basically no mission statement and no codes of ethics. One Star only because there are no negatives on the. Find ANYONE but this firm! Was told they would take case to trial, but after first settlement offer I was told to take it or get out. I tried to find out exactly why they would not continue with case to a trial like they said they would do. I was not told any excuse except that I had to take this first offer or they could not represent me anymore. I then was hung up on!! So if your looking for a firm that is hard to get a hold of and seems not to care about you or the importance to your life that the case represents, they are great! Please do not waste the precious time you have for getting through the system. Most people would like to think they have an attorney willing to do what they say. I think it's a shame they are willing to take the first offer without even a counteroffer, and forget going to trial. My opinion is that it may even be dirty pool, because of the power of defendant, scared or dirty. Not what you should look for in anything important to you and yours. I tried to warn you.
