This is my second or third time at Whittier Tattoo and they get me right every time. So many skilled artists and the whole place is a vibe. Thomas did my tattoo, his line work was exceptional. I got a smiley face. Not everybody can tattoo a perfect circle, but he did exactly that. His gun was super quiet, his hand was light, and he finished in maybe 10-15 minutes (and that's probably me exaggerating). I loved that all his accessories were pink and smelled good. He was a whole vibe. All three of my friends got tattoos too, each by different artists. And honestly... we're already planning to go back next week. Chiko is an amazing tattoo artist. It was a while ago but I went as a walk in on Monday after the Friday 13th deals. I was still able to get the price set for Friday the 13th deals. They have two different shops. Just across the street from the main shop. They made me felt welcoming. Great music choice. I went into the main shop and they sent me into the 2nd shop to get tatted right away. Chiko was amazing. He helped me figure out the placement and size I was comfortable with. Val is amazing and helpful So I had got my nipple piercing done at another place and I started to experience issues around the nipple because of bad jewelry quality. I came here to ask for another piercers advice and she helped me out SO much. She switched me to titanium and gave me some advice about what else could be the issue. First it smells like pure bad weed and cigarettes, and then the artist I went to neeedddd to be HIGH in order to tatttoo and she said that's what all "tattoo artists require to tattoo" and yet left it very shaky, uneven and when I tried to have her fix it, she stated "I'm late for a party I can't" but she asked for payment faster than I can say anything else.... First tatttoos done here I fully regret and I will get them removed, sucks because I love all my tattoo but those.... Highly recommend yall to go to another shop..... there's a reason y their prices so cheap... just go to another shop! read more

Went for their special flash Sunday this weekend and it was all over the place and disappointing. Really scattered and unorganized. It also took around 3-4 hours before we even got seen because most of the artist left the building to get tacos and didn't even tell anyone. Me and my group didn't even get to have tacos or enjoy the music outside because they wanted everyone signed in to stay in the building. Like can you believe the hypocrisy?? My name was on the list and apparently someone took my spot because they only took first names, no numbers no last names. Insane. The vibes were definitely hectic and rushed for the whole experience after having to wait so long. But the only upside was when I finally received an artist, Megan, she was super personable and kind. She made my tattoo exact way I wanted and was super fast with it. The only complaint I have from her experience was she never made me sign a waiver like I saw everyone else in the whole shop do. So kinda a red flag for the shop? I also realized after she was done was that she never sanitized the area where I got my tattoo done before starting. So keep that in mind when you go there, they might skip on steps to rush your process, so watch out. Nonetheless thank you to Megan for my awesome tattoo. It is unfortunate to have to write a review but after numerous attempts to contact the artist so that he can touch up the tattoo for the simple fact that it was not done correctly, a lot of the ink did not stay on the skin after it healed you can definitely see a lot of the shading part was done rushed or incorrect and the letters of the tattoo are not correctly outline. I've been told not to go to this shop by numerous people, but decided to give it a chance since they were one of the only shops that did piercings in Whittier. There was absolutely no sense of urgency from anyone who worked there. My sister left a review on Google after we didn't get the service that we planned to get there due to the long wait time & the owner must have went through her friends list on IG or something because he claimed she knew someone who used to work there LMAO. I'm just going to say that if you go to any place that does flash sale tattoos, it's always going to be a wait. Same thing you would expect at any other place during Friday the 13th, long waits. Anyways... before I read all those bad reviews. I want to give a huge shout out to Izzy here who did mine and my mom's tattoo. We got them both done with Izzy on two separate occasions and I just absolutely love the outcome of it. The tattoo my mom and I got were different but very sentimental to us and we wanted to make sure it was exactly what we wanted. And Izzy was definitely a trooper. He was kind and patient and always willing to make changes for us in real-time. Meaning, we sent him an idea of what we wanted but when we showed up, there were specific changes we needed before getting the tattoo done. And he was more than accommodating to make those changes for us. His prices were fair and the details on the tattoos is what made it all come together. I got a piece with my late father's writing and it was important to me for his writing be transitioned properly. And that it was I got. My sister even said it came out way better than she expected. lol and the cherry on top of it all was the kind words that Izzy had left me with afterwards. He told me he hoped that mine and my mom's tattoos offered us some peace in his passing because he knew how much he loved us by the way we talked about him. And those words alone did offer me a sense of comfort. So thank you again Izzy. I hope to come back and receive more work from you in the future. read more

My friend went to to get a tattoo. Shady was the tattoo artist he consulted with first. My friend asked if he could do a portrait lion and showed him a picture of exactly what he wanted. Shady convinced my friend that he would be able to do it. My friend agreed to let Shady replicate the the tattoo on his hand. My friend paid $400 plus dollars up front . What my fried received was a very sad cartoon clown lion, that looked like something a four year old would draw. My friend was not happy at all, especially for how much he paid. Shady told him to put some Neosporin on it and let heal. Unfortunately that does not fix crappy work. Tried to set up an appointment to fix Shady's poor excuse of a portrait. Put my name down on the waiting list, waited 2 hours, meet my tattoo artist but turns out a little tattoo is $100... why do you advertise on social media wrong prices?? And when I put my name on the list they wouldn't confirm the price with me because apparently it's different depending on whatever artist you get. Then I decide to go through with it because I already waited. My guy was annoyed that I didn't like the placement of it so I wanted to move it higher on my leg and I can feel the tension from him. Didn't know it was such an inconvenience to make sure something on my body for the rest of my life was in the right place. Then, the final straw was my tattoo was so mediocre. I came in on a Saturday morning during their September Horror Flash Special. We were a group of 4 and we were greeted and helped right away. All four of us are fairly tattooed and were looking to add cute little ghosts to our collection. Each one of us had a great experience and our artists were fast and friendly. We went for a flash sale tattoo & my first red flag should have been none of the tattoos were actually priced like they said ($40) but I did want a little bigger so whatever, I paid $100 (not including tip) & not even 2 months later, all my ink is falling out. I am aware of this spot being sensitive and made sure so take extra care of it. I drove an hour in traffic to this place after work, excited to get tattooed, just to end up disappointed and frustrated 4 hours later when I walked out without one. My name was written down as soon as I arrived and even got checked up on twice. Once was to get down my tattoo idea and location. It was pretty busy so I knew I had to wait a while before getting called by an artist to get started. But instead got ignored the rest of the night till almost midnight! At the end I was told someone wrote down their name but didn't call me. The whole time after they took down my tattoo idea I thought an artist was working on the stencil.
