I went to Dotta Ink to see Art Gallardo. Cool shop. Clean, a bit gothic styled and nice and open. Art is known for his great American Traditional Style but is great at Black and Grey and other styles too. My favorite part about him is his custom work. He loves to draw on the client to make it fit the body and spaces so well. That's why I continue to see him. He has done cover ups, fillers and blast overs on me and I always get compliments. Dotta Ink is a cool spot located in Downey near Portos. Get a rad tattoo and then some awesome pastries next door. Everyone in the shop is so nice. It's awesome to find a welcoming tattoo studio.

We had an appointment with Arturo Gallardo and his work is beyond amazing. I was u sure if what I was getting so I had my husband go first. The conversation is always interesting and even the other artists are easy and fun to talk to. When it was my turn I gave Art the idea and he freehanded the tattoo on me. The piercer here is disgusting. Doesn't clean the skin before piercing. Doesn't tie her hair up. Wears long ass nails. My sister went in the other day to get a piercing reinserted. She said she would use a catheter to reinsert her jewelry and instead gave her a new piercing with a needle. She can't even tell if it's the same hole anymore. I'm not sure if she just wanted to scam her for $50 because she's so desperate. My sister had that piercing for years and the jewelry was out for less than 2 hours. Never asked my sister if it's okay to use a needle just went ahead and did it. Go literally anywhere else. read more

[[HIGHLIGHT]]It's not bogus your piercer Maricela is the reason for this experience and review.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This was my actual experience a she did charge me 100 and did not even change my piercing which was the issue of the bump. I had to go to another piercer to address the issue. And yes she was using cheap remedies you get from tik tok and not actual treatments for piercings. The piercer doesn't speak English and she CANNOT do dermals. was so rough and tried for at least 20 minutes before getting it in. Had to repierce my septum TWICE because the first one was so crooked. Ya they did the services we requested but at what cost. read more

This is my personal favorite tattoo shop in Downey. I walked in and met with Bennett Loc who took care of the design I wanted and even came up with a better design than I originally planned. His style of tattooing is phenomenal with an incredible attention to detail. Out of all my tattoos I can say the one he did for me is the best and my favorite. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Bennett has great follow up with his customers after getting the tattoo and even offers really great advice on how to take care of it as it's healing and how to take care of it after it's all healed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I appreciate the work Bennett did a lot. He kept his station really organized and maintained properly which was really awesome. The shop overall has great vibes and is a great place to get tattooed. read more

Been looking for a tattoo artist for a while, and I found this place. This place is conveniently located in the middle of Downey. Dezi the tattoo artist is very professional, friendly and nice. I felt instantly comfortable. Her IG is the beauty of sorrow. She does piercings and tattoos as well. Also everyone there is so nice and speak Spanish as well. If you looking to get some work done. Best place to get your lashes done. Beautiful building, great location and plenty of parking. The building looks so pretty..... like a castle to me I always walk out feeling great and rejuvenated. You get the full lash treatment here. The lash bash is so refreshing. I always forget to check-in on Yelp but I've been getting my lashes done by Angela since day oneI absolutely love getting my lashes done, Angela is so good and light handed that I always fall asleep at some point of my session. When I don't fall asleep I get to talk to my dear friend Angela and catch up with everything!!!! Feels like therapy sometimes......bottom line I love it here. Called this morning for a piercing and got it within an hour! Chris is the piercer and he's honestly the best! We walked in, my boyfriend got a tattoo, my cousins an ear piercing, and I re pierced my septum and my nose and the service was AMAZING!!! The vibes were awesome! The guy who pierced us came from Moreno Valley and his name was Chris. We waited and got here before his eta. We didn't mind the wait since my bf was getting a tattoo anyway. She explained everything step-by-step and told us exactly what was going to happen and what to expect, which helped a lot. She was really clean and professional, but most important she was gentle and careful which I appreciated. My son had barely any swelling, no bruising at all, and everything is healing perfectly. The piercing was quick and way better than he expected. I wouldn't do it any other way and would definitely recommend her, especially if you're nervous like my son.

I want to start this off by saying WOW! Amazing, all around great experience from start to finish…read more I came early around 8:20 AM for Friday the 13th and had the best time! Check in was easy and simple there was a bit of a wait but nothing crazy it all went by so fast. Everyone working is so nice and positive, especially the owners you can really tell they CARE! I came in for a belly piercing and my second lobe piercing. I was extremely nervous for my belly piercing, I have a very low pain tolerance and Jen made my experience better than I could've imagined!!! They were fairly busy but Jen still took her time to be patient with me and make conversation which I really appreciated considering how nervous I was. She was quick, careful and very gentle. I had been…read moremeaning to come in to get my rings resized as they had started to fit tight, but I waited too long and ended up having to get them cut off! One night I could not get my rings off no matter what I did! My finger even got swollen from trying to get my rings off. The next morning, I went into Coby Madison and was greeted by James. I explained my situation and he looked at my finger and right away noticed that it was swollen. He said he could help with cutting the rings off. He was able to get them off quickly, and although I was relieved to get them off after being stuck, I also felt sad that they had to be cut off. While getting the rings cut off, I got hot due to being nervous and James had me take a seat and gave me some water. I really appreciated how kind he was and that he understood having my rings cut off can be a bit emotional. Since my finger was swollen, I had to wait until the swelling went down to return to be sized for my rings to be repaired. James provided me with a bag to keep the rings safe. I returned two weeks later to make sure the swelling was completely gone. This time I was helped by Linda and she was amazing. She had me try on different rings to make sure we got the correct ring size. She provided me with options on how I could repair my wedding ring if I needed to change the design. She informed me that the store has a texting system which makes communicating with their customers easier. This really was convenient for me to get updates on the repairs for my rings. They had originally informed me that it could take 3-4 weeks depending on how many orders they are working on, so I was pleasantly surprised when my rings were ready in two weeks. I felt so naked without my rings, so I was happy that they had them ready quicker than expected. My rings came out great and fit perfectly! They also looked clean and sparkly. I had an amazing experience working with James and Linda. They provided great customer service! I would highly recommend them for any of your jewelry needs.

As a cosmetologist that has taken many courses to add to my services, this is hands down the most beautiful and clean training facility. I absolutely love the aesthetic and the space! It's great for learning while social distancing. My training was facilitated by the owner herself, who took all precautions. We are talking sanitizer at the door (and every room), two sinks, and spacious stations. I appreciated that she wore and recommended a face shield (on top of mask) as you are in very close proximity to your models. I took the lash lift (perm) and brow lamination course, and I liked the technique and added kit tools for pro tips! We had theory for an hour, a mannequin demo, and live model practice. (Ofcourse you bring your own, which is great during these times for peace of mind.) I was happy that I got the attention I paid for. I had constant monitoring in a class of 4, and kept being corrected to improve my speed as this process is time sensitive and there's no room to build bad habits! I got a lot of feedback and all my questions answered. I enjoyed this class and training center so much that I signed up for the eyebrow threading course this Sunday to enhance my work. So initially I noticed Dotta Ink when I was driving through downtown Downey. I came in as a walk in to get nipple piercings. The person Rice at the front door was very nice and welcoming when I came in. Even though they were in a meeting, he tended to me right away with a smile. You know checking the vibe of a place is always important but they definitely checked that box for me. The piercer Chris came over and asked what I was looking to get and was sooo professional. I signed a form and I was able to voice my concerns. He double checked everything, he was also soo nice and explained the whole process to me. Chris also spoke to me throughout the process and kept me relaxed. Everything went easy and simple. Kind of felt like home honestly. I loved how easy and comfortable the process was. The shop also accepts Zelle so that was a plus! He cleaned me up and gave me aftercare instructions. Even offered further help with any trouble healing. This shop is definitely a vibe! And even upon leaving Rice made sure I was satisfied! I will most certainly be back for any other needs. I highly recommend!!! read more

I received my training from the Master herself in a private one on one class and it was the best investment I've ever done on myself. She took her time to explain the fundamentals of being a Lash Artist there's so much more to just placing a lash on a client. She made sure I understood what I was getting myself into and definitely gave me all the tools I needed to be successful in this industry. I chose Dotta Ink because my brother has gotten multiple tattoos with Luis and always speaks highly of his experience. I was looking to get a tattoo and texted the number on their website, they reply quickly and were able to get me in early the next day. I really appreciated this because I've had to book tattoos weeks in advance at prior tattoo shops. I was paired with The Doctor, who was very nice throughout the tattoo session. He was very mindful of making sure I liked the placement and sizing of the tattoo or if I needed a break throughout the session. You can tell he's very passionate about his work. Let me start off by saying that Academy is beautiful! It's very vintage-girly with a touch of goth and I'm obsessed with her designing. The academy is well kept, throughly cleaned, and frankly a pleasant environment. However, that's just a bonus, the classes are spot on. David and Marisela were super helpful Marisela helped me right away and she even put my favorite music (she could tell I was nervous) I showed him what I wanted, and he gave me exactly that. After looking at so many instagrams, tiktok reels, facebook market place lol I finally stumbled upon Priscila (Inkmonic) -- right away I loved her energy, her patience in talking about the design, and making the imaginative idea come to life.
