Today I went to buy artichokes. They have been a part of our family's Easter tradition for a long time. When I got to Whole Foods I saw only 4 artichokes, and I needed 12. I went to speak with Jose who works in the produce department. I explained what I needed, and although he didn't know what they were, he was eager to help. I've been shopping at the Jericho Whole Foods for years, and unfortunately the service has steadily declined, especially in the vitamin aisle and coffee shop. The vitamin section rarely has staff available to help customers, and the coffee shop has been consistently disorganized for a long time. There don't seem to be consistent hours, and many times it feels understaffed and poorly supervised. I often see new employees every few weeks or months, which makes me wonder if there are larger management or staffing issues. On several occasions I've had to ask employees just to brew coffee, and overall the customer service and politeness have not been what you would expect from Whole Foods. I don't place most of the blame on the employees themselves many seem overwhelmed, undertrained, or unsupported. The bigger issue appears to be management and the lack of organization and supervision. I really don't like writing negative reviews because I shop here regularly and want this location to improve, but after years of the same problems I felt it needed to be said. read more

WHOLE FOODS (WF) CHILEAN SEA BASS (CSB) TL;DR Seafood Department. Disappointing. Unscaled Fish. ******************************************** I'll start with saying that there are plenty of positives to this store, but it's time I share my unfortunate negative experiences, specific to the Seafood Department. Spring of 2023 I was lured in by a radio advertisement touting WF Chilean Sea Bass being on sale. Went in. Saw that the Sea Bass didn't have that stark white gleam and looked absolutely grey. Asked for a sniff test, and it was nauseatingly full on ammonia...virtually spoiled. I felt sorry for any unsuspecting consumer not knowing how to identify bad seafood. Fast forward to January 2024, I'll blame myself for this one. I always ask my fish mongers the same question, but totally forgot once here. My thought was probably being in a 'gourmet' high end supermarket that they should know better. Actually I should know better, no matter the store. Smh. No sale today, which I knew and okay with as I was determined to get my CSB fix. The two pieces I chose thankfully passed the sniff test. So I made my purchases and was ood to go. While home, I lightly rinsed, cause you know old school. Then lightly seasoned in preparation for a quick broil. As I'm prepping I noticed those dreaded SCALES! Scales on a prime piece of seafood?! I know this might not be serious to anyone else but this is a pet peeve of mine and an annoyance that I cannot get past. Knowing that I've purchased, seasoned and now have to scale these suckers myself?! Aarrgghh!! I can't even express my disappointment. Yup, my own fault for forgetting and not asking if they were scaled. To all of you Fish Mongers. If you don't know, you need to know that scaling should be a part of the process before selling a $32.99/lb piece of premium fish. Or any fish for that matter that involves the skin to remain intact. Anyway, after a bunch of curse words I calmed down, put the CSB back in the fridge, took out a nice big piece of fresh Cod I purchased from Super Fresh, which I also had prepared. And happy to announce that Super Fresh preps their seafood appropriately. I tried to scale (no pun intended) this review down but needed to get this off of my chest. Before checking out, I went to the Pizza counter, there was a woman wearing a scarf standing in the Pizza station who just looked at me and didnt ask what I would like, after a minute, I asked if I can have a slice of Pizza. She told me I have to adk the other older woman. The other woman looked at me 3 times, never said a word. Apparently, Whole Foods does not have anything in place regarding customer service/relations. Maybe they should look at me store cards and see the hundreds spent there every week. I did leave with a tray of Sushi, which tasted like old crap, I ate 2 pices and it went straight to the garbage. Whole foods in Jericho. Its hard to give a fair star value as I have had different experences here the few time I have shopped. They do have natural and healthy items and bakery and butcher meats in the back. They are a bit more expensive on the items so said. Having prime is like the proverbial coupon saving discount as this order saved about 5 dollars. They even have a few sweaters on display near the front by customer services section. Not that I had any wish to purchase. I came in for there product 365 lemonade in isle 13 on the right. They have 3 different kinds, Regualr , low sugar and Organic. Their Lemonade is Pasturized and on the shelf not in the fridge area. The Regular and Organic pretty much taste the same with cane sugar added and a very mild flavor. This visit I bought a few icecream packets - buy 3 get 1 free. My experience was standing on a line of many open registers and so happened the woman in front of me was really taking her time asking prices and looking over and reviewing each of her items. The casher man to my surprise was diligent knowledgeable and kind as he assisted her in going over everything. Problem here- she could have just gone to Customer Services for help with her rather large order. Problem here, along with myself many of us on this line were waiting quite a long time. My few Items, I packed up and I went to Customer service where the young lady did her job. Thing is- like - who am I to tell her how the place should run and even so its not her job to direct someone as noted to go and help this young man at the register, the one who he had sweetly appologized to me when I left his line. As I had not been in a rush, or surely I would just have left the whole cart, I did buy my stuff - Note here: I had gone back to the icecream fridge and swapped out the 4 little icecream sandwiches. It was an Oh well, just another shopping experience and yet again while they have some nice things, nothing special in the servicing area. I stopped by on the way home from a meeting was craving some blueberries. I'm notorious for walking in a store wanting to pick up one specific (whether for food, clothes, book, or really anything), and walking out like 6 other things. Well this wasn't that day as I had walked out with only.... 5 other things! The five things were all plants. They had an awesome sale for about $2 off (for amazon prime members) already reasonably priced plants (a couple already came potted). I even bought myself a venus flytrap! They brings me back to memories of Little Shop of Horrors (it's awesome musical if you haven't see it!) and are just so weird, interesting and cool, at the same time. I recently re-arranged my very modest home office space and these fit and liven up the space soo perfectly! Small store with limited selections. Oftentimes items are not replenished and shelves sparse or empty. Customer service is consistently poor- from all levels - management to restocking staff. Most of the staff we've encountered have been blatantly rude. One young man while restocking dropped a box onto me and did not even apologize and instead looked at me with an annoyed expression. Just overall unfriendly vibes like you can tell the employees detest their jobs and hate the customers too. I prefer the Whole Foods in Garden City and Manhasset - staff almost always polite, humble and amiable. While doing self check-out at Jericho watch out for the Whole Foods "grocery police" they study your every move - policing at its finest. Should add it to my Waze alerts. I love WF delivery via Amazon and have scored 2 delivery windows I the last week which is AMAZING!! I live at least 20 miles/10 mikes from the closest WF so its great to have my groceries delivered to my doorstep in this time of COVID-19 craziness. It's more reasonably priced than the local places and I love the variety! Today I scored 2 boxes of gluten free potstickers and 2 bags of Alexia hash browns plus a large watermelon for $6.99 plus olive oil and capers. It will be an interesting dinner tonight! read more

I'm at this location about once a month and generally get the usual Whole Food experience. This time I found a long hair embedded inside the piece of chocolate cake I bought. Grossed me out! Quality control needs improvement. The aisles or shelves are always blocked by boxes of inventory or a display of a special item they're trying to sell. Getting around with a shopping cart is tough with its narrow aisles. The lady behind the hot food counter was nice. She made a suggestion for future purchase. But the prices are always higher than other market chains. read more

This review is for the Whole Foods Juice Bar. I stopped by the juice bar for the first time while shopping for groceries today. Juice bar Barista was named Travis & I recommend you ask for him if you stop in. He was super helpful and awesome to say the least. I ordered the Green Passion juice (spinach, kale, apple, parsley & cucumber. I asked if the apple had skin (I'm allergic) and Travis said yes & offered to peel it before juicing (go Travis with the badass cust service skills)! Juice was great, definitely hit the spot & didn't break the bank ($6 for a small & $8 for a large). The juice area was also very clean. Highly recommend & plan to return! read more

Whole Foods getting some push back from the organic crowd, while striving for growth. Whole Foods teams up with big food producers for profit, and is not all non GMO, organic store. Instead a public company with some great marketing. The Health Ranger recommends finding organic non GMO farmers directly. Cut out the middle man & go local. For its size and all it carries, Its still a nice shopping experience, attractive store, friendly people, nice juice bar, nice salad bar, deli, bakery and flower dept. This store is PRICEY to say the least. Upon walking in there was a huge sign that said Organic Granny Smith Apples, $3.49 a pound, YIKES. BUT, so worth it. The produce is always fresh. Goodbye having to sort through the tomatoes to fine ones that are firm, they are all firm. Goodbye to picking up the container of strawberries to check if the ones on the bottom are molding already; they never are here! There are employees all over this place so if ever you need help you don't need to walk all over the store to find someone to assist you. Make your own peanut butter? Is this the answer to anyone else's prayers? Peanut and Almond butter are my weaknesses and here you can be assured that there are no added chemicals; au natural baby! As I stated earlier yes it is expensive but if you shop enough like I do and know prices off the top of your head, this place does carry items that are cheaper than stores such as Waldbaums and Stop and Shop. For example, today the Liter sized Poland Spring Seltzer Waters were $79 cents per bottle where they are usually $99 in other stores, so keep your eyes peeled for deals. Was very impressed by their self serve grains, seeds, oatmeal, raisins etc. aisle. Their bakery is HUGE deli area has endless amounts to choose from. Also, they give heavy duty paper bags when bagging your groceries. Two thumbs up to that, grocery stores always give plastic nowadays. Only reason I'm not giving this place five stars is because there are better organic stores out there AND the carts are so hard to push, I'm serious. This Whole Foods is located off the LIE, in a mall shared with the town's post office, CVS, and some other smaller shops. The parking lot is an obstacle course. Late model luxury vehicles driven by self centered mid island millionaires is the main culprit. The size of the aisles are just big enough for one gigantic car to pass. Who will that be? Then there is the fire lane which is consistently occupied by cars driven by people unwilling to make the walk from the parking lot to the store...or limos idling. Once inside the store the next obstacle course are the insta cart shoppers, who act like mid island millionaires... leaving their carts in the middle of the aisle while staring at their phone and reaching for a tin can of overpriced something. Besides all that BS the produce is very good here. Because of the volume and turnover most veggies and fruits are fresh. The rest of the place is typical Whole Foods. Expensive. I wouldn't touch the togo food though...not many people there do. The check out can be a disaster. The check out peeps are slow and unfriendly. The self service area is clotted with people unfamiliar with scanning and packing. It should be an express lane for people with fifteen items or less but if it is no one respects that. Inevitably the non-self service check out is faster. At least their bathrooms are not homeless shelters, like the Whole Foods in NYC. read more

Whenever I am in the area I make it a point to stop at Whole Foods Market in Jericho. Fresh produce with many organic options. Grass fed beef, organic pork, organic chicken and organic turkey. Also many choices for natural animal protein. Fresh fish and seafood. Frozen seafood options as well. Great selection of natural and non GMO products. I frequent the hot food bar often and love the samosas and Indian entrees. Cold bar very good as well. Although I have never tried the deli, the cuts of meat look good. I always enjoy shopping here for natural and organic food. I would give it 5 stars except it is expensive. Prices have not dropped significantly since Amazon took over. That being said I love Whole Foods but I don't like spending my Whole Paycheck! read more

I really like this Wholefoods location. Large parking lot. Easily accessible, and close to major highways like the L.I.E., and the Northern State, and busy roads as the 106/107. We came here on Saturday right after dinner nearby in Hicksville, looking for dessert! Went to the bakery section, and saw an impressive array of desserts and pastries. Picked out a Mango Mousse cake and sat down on the row of booths adjacent to the cashier counter and devoured it. Tasted really good, with a strong mango flavor. Smooth mousse inside. For $10 and change, well worth it! The rest of the market, is like most other Wholefoods with its dizzying selection of fruits, veggies, and endless aisles of products. read more

This is review is concerning my recent experience of using this location from my Amazon Prime account. It claims that if I pick out a selection of foods found in the store, they will be delivered in two hours. I spent a half hour picking out a nice selection of staple items - most of them reasonably priced some a bit on the high side. Then when I got to checkout I had to choose a time for them to be delivered. There's the rub. Delivery could not be done in 2 hours. Delivery could not be done today. Delivery could not be done tomorrow. Delivery could, seemingly, not be done ever. They had just totally wasted my time. read more

I want fish cleaned and some oyster sucked, not after 6pm. Who has time to go earlier when I'm at work. They told me to order in the morning and pick up later. They continue to go down hill since the Amazon purchase. Some of the prices are more reasonable, especially during COV19, but they've lost me on their recommended substitutions when something is out. Due to their inability to correctly substitute, I asked that 25 of the 31 items in my cart not be substituted. Received a text shortly thereafter stating my order was cancelled because my card did not work. I checked the card, and as suspected, no issues. We pay our balance off monthly. I believe the order was cancelled because they were out of a few of the items, and I did not allow for substitutions. If that is the case just tell me, why make up the card nonsense and waste my time? Sorry, we've been burned too many times to allow for substitutions. Last week they substituted a single can of beer for a six pack that was out. This morning they offered to substitute ice cream for frozen spinach - is the system that determines drunk? Is it because both are frozen? There are many examples just like the above. Either way, moving on from Whole Foods delivery. Recently tried both Instacart to get Stop & Shop, and joined Shipt for Target deliveries and the service was superior. You get a live person that interacts with you, offers suggestions for substitutions, send pics of items, and even asks if you forgot anything. I implore you to try either of the above, and ditch the odd robot experience that Whole Foods provides. read more

I went here for the 2nd time at about 830 this morning, I was running early this morning and decided to pick up something to munch on for breakfast so I stopped in whole foods.I found the bulk foods section and since I didn't plann on going to whole foods I didn't bring any of my usual containers but the whole foods by me has paper bags near the bulk foods section, so I thought they might have the same. I asked the person working in the bulk foods section if they had paper bags and she pointed and said over there (in a way like she didn't want to be bothered) so I looked and I saw those produce plastic bags and I turned to her and I said "do you have paper bags?" And she yelled at me "THOSE OVER THERE" or "RIGHT THERE" (something to that nature, to be honest I don't remember exactly what she said because I was so shocked she was so nasty to me. I know this is not the entire store but it put such a bad taste in my mouth that I am not sure I would come back for a while. I left there pretty upset. And I had my young son with me, so she was nasty to me in front of my kid. Again I know it's a little unfair to grade the entire store badly because of one employee but it left that much of an impression on me. read more

My mother just went to this store to go shopping and had the worst experience she's had during the pandemic. While shopping she was intercepted by a woman not wearing a mask, who gave her an attitude about putting one on and seemed to follow her throughout the store. She had to tell the manager 3 TIMES about this woman, and the last time she was at the butcher counter where the butcher told her it's against the law for him not to serve her and TO WAKE UP after she asked him why he's conversing with her without a mask ! Honestly this place would be 4 stars bc of the building, but that's only because this is an much older location. Can't fault the place for being one of the first Whole Foods on LI, so 5 stars it is. Never had an issue here. The checkout lines are always being watched/helped by others, even self-checkout. Always get asked if I need help at the counters. And everyone has always been nice and open about things. I almost accidentally took a basket out and no one gave me an attitude, just saw that I had a bunch of stuff and said to switch out to a cart and they'll pick up the basket later. Another time, someone saw that I had just 3 items and took me to a fast lane even though it wasn't too busy. I appreciate the proactiveness of this place. Personally I don't have a problem with the layout, once you know where everything is, this place is just a quick and easy shopping experience. read more

I'll start by saying that is Whole Foods is super clean and organized. Despite always being super busy when I go there, the checkout lines are always fairly short and nothing gets too out of place. I appreciate how many checkout lines they usually have open as I'm usually just stopping by to pick up dinner from the hot/cold bar so I move pretty quick. The hot/cold bar has plenty of choices depending on my mood. The quality of food is good, but it doesn't always seem super fresh, but I also feel like that is the nature of the beast when it comes to one of these self serve things. I typically get a salad when I go, and usually it is fine, but sometimes the leaves can be a bit soggy, but they've never looked old or wilted, either. There's a really good balance of salad to dressing that they have in the salads I've gotten there. Can't wait to try some of the other things they offer at the bar in the future. read more

I have never left a review before, but this is unbelievable. I had a good delivery order last Sunday which was stated to be delivered but I never received it. I contacted Amazon customer service and received a refund - for everything except a $5 TIP. I am in a wheelchair, and it is now Friday; just ventured out into the back yard.....to discover the order delivered TO MY BACK GARAGE DOOR. Do they think I live in the garage? they bypassed the back door to the house and left the 4 packages in front of the back garage door. The only explanation for this is pure spite. The fact that this person received a $5 tip for this is beyond belief. read more
