Vic took the time to check it out and quickly confirmed that the problem was indeed the battery. Instead of trying to upsell me on a repair, he was completely honest and told me that putting money into an older model might not be the best use of my money. He went above and beyond by suggesting newer laptop options that are comparable and available at better price points. They just said it's not repairable, and cheaper to buy a new one. We paid $35 for inspection/diagnosis (whatever they call it), and left the store. When I opened the laptop to put NVMe back, I saw that RAM was missing from laptop after we got home. They told me to pick RAM up from store when I called them. How convenient for them to "FORGET" to put RAM back. We brought in the complete laptop, but they did not even bother to put the laptop back to one piece at least. They have no knowledge about electronics, nor PC. Stay far away from this store.
