Today the guy on the cash register asked why we bag our items with the grocery bags. Does Kroger employees go to health safety training? It is also raining and we do not want our food rained at and get ruined by the rain water specially the dry goods since the molds will form on the dry goods. Im writing this because just now i opened up some chicken that i purchased yesterday. When i opened it the odor of sulfur immediately flooded my nostrils. That means it's rancid folks. And this is not the first, second or even third time this has happened over a three year period. What to do, wrap it up, drive to the store and let the mgr smell it?! I'd like very much to shove it under the store manager's nose but I wouldn't consider putting this in my vehicle. No, it gets wrapped in a zip lock and immediately taken to the trash convenience center. So my only recourse is to blast these stores on yelp with hopes to make them aware that people notice when they get home with slimy, mushy, smelly out of date meats and produce. And their prices are ridiculous. Their inventory is similar to Winn Dixie if you're from the south or Shop Rite if you're from the north but their prices are as if you are shopping in Whole Foods. Thats just wrong. I assure you Food City is a very far reach from Whole Foods. I've tried both options, and honestly I do not think the upgrade is really worth the extra cost. The price difference is minimal, so it is not a huge deal either way, but once the sandwich is toasted, it is really hard to tell much of a difference in taste. That kind of made the regular Publix cold cuts feel like the better value to me. Overall, Publix does a solid job as a grocery store, but the deli is definitely one of the best reasons to stop in. I bought two bunches which I knew was not 4 lbs but was told they were since that's what the upc code rang up. So they actually weighed a total of just over two lbs. Now I've been overcharged $1 plus $7.98. I I didn't have a dinner to get ready I would be headed back there. I will go tomorrow. The last time I will ever go there.
