This company was selling a camera on eBay for $848 plus tax. When I bought the camera, we exchanged emails about how excited I was and how they were very grateful for my purchase through their company. A day later they canceled my order claiming that it was due to an error in the buyers(Me) shipping address which I have used for over 10 years with eBay. Instead of reaching out to me they just simply canceled the order and then relisted it for $150 more. When I spoke with the manager he indicated to me that sometimes our glitches in their pricing. I told him it was bad business practice to advertise something for a price and then not sell it for that price especially after they already agreed to it and I purchased it. He admitted to me that they made up a lie about my address been off from what it said in eBay but I reminded him that it's a fixed address through my commerce profile. He told me he would call me right back but never has. Nobody will take my call now. As a novice photographer, I visited the store for advice on cameras and SD cards. Their customer service was very pushy to sell me a SD card that was marked up 100% greater than other local stores and well beyond the technical aspects of what I actually need. They refused to accept the return or present an alternatively satisfactory credit or exchange. Avoid this store at all costs. read more

I still had the ticket they gave me to pick up items I had dropped off but they claimed someone mysteriously picked them up or I forgot. The items belonged to my recently deceased brother and my family is extremely upset. I did not forget. The owner is unprofessional, entitled and a real jerk. He doesn't care about anyones opinion. The bottom line with this place: this is a family run Mom & Pop store that has been a member of the Midland Park community for decades that will help you out with anything pertaining to photography. I go to these guys for everything from portraits, passport photos, and photo scanning to video transfer and camera purchases. My family and I have been patrons of this place for as long as I can remember. Let me tell you two stories. I have an Uncle and an Aunt that live in Ridgewood, NJ and the last time I saw them, they made a point of it to tell me about their experience at the store. In this particular case, something was wrong with their camera and they thought that they had lost all of their photos from a vacation they had taken recently. Matt, one of the owners, was able to personally recover the lost photos and ensure that their memories survived intact. My Aunt and Uncle have been going there for years and they said that the reason they do so is the personal and ongoing connection that they've experienced with the staff at the store in addition to the welcoming community feeling of the store. I lost my mother to lung cancer several years ago and my family wanted to put together a photo slideshow of my mother's life to be played during her wake. I had absolutely no idea how to do this since we needed to scan a ton of photos strewn about various family photo albums. Once again, Matt came to my rescue. Honestly, the most surprising thing was that once I had all of the photos I wanted to scan, the actual process of putting together the slideshow was quick and painless: the equipment available at the store coupled with Matt's experience made all the difference. Matt and Wholesale photo were invaluable in this case as they helped my family and I remember my mother and I am forever grateful for that. I placed a online order on Monday June 22nd, and I received a email confirming my order, the next day the charge was posted with my credit card, I was thinking Wednesday it would be shipped out, and it wasn't. I called and I was told it will be shipped out Thursday and it wasn't....I sent a email on Friday and the reply was still in "PROCESSING" well here is the problem, I live just over one hour away, two friends ordered the same item as me on Tuesday June 23rd they both used PayPal, and both received confirmation email, one lives in Georgia the other in Ohio....June 24th they received tracking numbers, they both got their order, and here I am sitting and waiting....If I don't have a tracking number come Monday June 29th I will contact my credit card customer service and file a claim read more

I would not recommend recommend purchasing equipment "online" from this company. I am not sure how they treat their customers face to face, but there customer service over the phone is terrible. I purchased a camera from Wholesale Photo through Amazon and had to return it because it was defective. I was told once they receive the camera, I would have a replacement within 7-10 days. I called and spoke to a rep and explained I was shooting a project and I would push the project back based on the time frame of the return. I expressed to her how important it was for me to have a replacement within this time frame. She told me to process the return through Amazon as a refund because that would be the fasted way to get the camera back to them and they would send a replacement within 7-10 days as I paid for 2 day shipping. So I followed her instructions and monitored the delivery through UPS. Seven days after UPS confirmed its arrival I called to check the status of my replacement. I was told by the manager that she could not find the camera in the system. She put me on hold so she could locate the camera. I was hold for for over 10 minutes and she never came back to the phone. I had to get to work so I figured she would call me back or I would get an email with an explanation. As of this review, I have yet to get a call back or an email from them. So I complained to Amazon and they processed the refund which is now taking an additional 3-5 days. So now I will have to rent a camera for this project I am doing. I am not giving them a poor review because of the defective camera. I am not even upset that I have to rent a camera. I am grown enough to understand that things do happen beyond our control. I am giving them a poor review because of their lack of follow through and lackadaisical approach to dealing with online customers. They are not a large company where things can fall through the cracks. This was one of the reasons I chose them for this purchase. Being a small company and losing a package just means someone was not doing their job and being lazy. Character and integrity is not judged on what you do right when things go right. Got film developed here and loaded onto a cd, other than the price point being rather high I found it a bit odd/ creepy that they made notes about my photos and gave them to me when I picked up and payed. I don't know about the retail store but their mail order division SUCKS!!! I placed an order on August 18, 2020, and it still hasn't gone through. I call the number on the website and the recording just hangs up repeatedly. I send an email to support and they tell me to call the number...even after I explained in the email that the number does not work. I called the retail store and they gave me a local number that also does not work. I have called twelve times trying to get hold of an actual person. Mehdi in the emails isn't helpful at all. Do not purchase your Canon gear from this seller if you want Canon USA gear with Canon warranty cards. I bought a Canon camera kit from them, via a major online retailer. There was no Canon USA warranty card inside. Per Canon, ALL Canon USA camera gear comes with a warranty card. Canon told me if there is no warranty card then the item is an import. The item was not advertised as an import. I contacted the seller asking for the warranty cards and they replied that "warranty cards do not come with the merchandise." This was not stated in the item details. If having Canon USA gear with a warranty card matters to you, look elsewhere. Canon USA will only service items under warranty if you have proof of purchase from an authorized Canon USA dealer. One Canon rep said this company was not on their list, one rep said they are. I have asked Wholesale Photo for a certificate of proof that they are authorized by Canon. Buyer beware. read more

After 8 months the printer has stopped working and when I called Amazon they told me that I did not buy from an Authorized Seller and the warranty was void. Bought a Canon camera from you thru Amazon.But I live in a small apartment building with only 5 other tenants and where we have no doorman. So we supply the code to enter the lobby and leave the package. Works for everybody, except for Wholesale Photo: the need you to sign (on this day and age!!!) a paper saying you are in possession of the goods...Fed Ex can't work around this and, after 2 weeks of trials and errors I decided to pick up my package at their closer location (30 miles away). Do not open box if you want to get full refund !!!!! I purchased a canon lens and accessories & accessory kit from Wholesale Photo via Amazon. When I received the box, I opened it to check if every item listed in the internet was included. Then I tried to test if they were good. I fitted a filter into the lens. It was stuck. I was not able to unscrew it at all. So I called Wholesale Photo for return. I immediately returned the box after getting approval from the shop. I called and made sure that the box was delivered after slightly longer than a week. One of the representatives in the phone said that it unscrewed the filter and every item was in good condition. However the shop charged restocking fee on the returned because it was considered as used. The fact is that I did not use the lens and filter for myself but for testing. How could I know if every item ordered is in the box, if the lens and filter work good without opening the box and try? From my case I rationally guess that the shop would charge restocking cost on every returned item that once opened. I do not simply understand the shop's return policy because we do not know anything in the box without opening and trying it. read more

If you're looking to scan old slides - STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. I called the store with very specific information about what I was looking to do. When I got in the store the cost changed from $1 per slide as told to me on the phone to $9 per slide! They told me they could scan my slides if I didn't mind that part of the picture would be cut off. Oh yah, that will work! They obviously do not train their employees that if they don't know the answer, they need to talk to the owner or manager. Worst service ever. Staff was rude and it was like pulling teeth. I walked in and after the first 2 staff members looked at me and turned their back someone finally asked me if I needed help. Just needed passport photos, was told to go to the back counter and I just see an older lady run away. A simple hi could have made all the difference. Then as I was given my passport photo it was off center and clearly wrong. I told her this and with the biggest attitude she finally reprinted it and cut it correctly. This store is great! I was enlarging a photo of my parents who are now deceased and I needed the picture to look a certain way and by a specific date as I needed it for a memorial service. The owner Les was very helpful and accommodating, assuring me it would be completed in time. But on the pick up date, my photo was MIA due to a FedEx delivery mistake. Les quickly made up the exact same size photo 16x20 as a backup so I would have something and then stayed open past closing time until I arrived. And alls well that ends well as they were able to track down my original order by the time I arrived so we had the right picture for the service but this is the kind of customer service that I think is lacking in the world lately.
