If you're looking for the best midwives out there, Andrea and Maggie are it! These two provide truly wholistic care from the 1st day you meet them! They are incredibly knowledgeable, caring, supportive, and funny too! By the end of our journey together, they really felt like family! My husband and I originally started visiting midwives in the hopes of doing another birth center birth, like we did with our first kiddo. Homebirth was something I always wanted and thought about doing, but I had some fear, and my husband was even more fearful and unsure. Andrea and Maggie completely got us on board the first day we met them. They thoroughly explained everything to my husband and I and went over what would be done in different emergency scenarios. By the end of our initial visit, which was filled with laughter, we felt like Andrea and Maggie were friends we had known for a long time. We both knew immediately that we wanted them to be our midwives! Prenatal visits were something I looked forward to! I loved my hour with them, and so did my 2 year old, who was able to go to all of my appointments. They even have a play area that she adored. They also got her involved with using the doppler to listen to her baby sisters heartbeat and gave her some snacks here and there. Needless to say, my 2 year old was a huge fan as well. I did dual care and still saw an OB, and let me tell you, the care is night and day! 15 minutes with an OB just doesn't even come close to your hour with Andrea and Maggie. You feel loved, you feel supported, you feel heard. You leave every visit feeling good and feeling more prepared for your labor and delivery. My homebirth was amazing! I'm so happy I was able to do it, and I cried tears of joy when I held my baby for the first time. I felt joy that she was here, but also all I could think, was "WOW! I DID IT!" I was so proud of myself. I birthed my baby at home, in my own space, surrounded by the people I loved the most! And I have Andrea and Maggie to thank for that! My 2 year old was able to climb into the water (I did a water birth), right after her sister came earthside and met her new sibling. She was so happy and it made my heart so full! It was exactly as I had imagined it. The amazing care continues postpartum and beyond. They made sure to stress how important it was for me to rest and recover (even though I didn't quite listen, but that's another story lol) and they support you with all things postpartum and with your breastfeeding journey. Just know they are there to answer your calls and help with any concerns or questions, and always have your best interest in mind. They were also very thorough with my assessing my baby girl and even found she had a tounge tie. They taught me how to do stretches with her to help and gave us the option of having it released if that's what we wanted. I could go on and on about Andrea and Maggie, but you just have to meet them yourselves! Trust me, you won't regret it! They are truly incredible midwives!

After having my 2nd baby I thought breastfeeding was going to be a breeze. I nursed my 1st for 2 years no problem. Little did I know my 2nd had a lip and tongue tie that the hospital did not catch. In fact I was reassured by the nurse and lactation specialist at the hospital that my son did not have any ties. I came home and was in so much pain breastfeeding, bleeding and chapped nipples. I was so confused trying to remember if I went through this with my 1st. This is when Maggie came to the rescue! Not only did she catch his lip and tongue tie immediately but suggested I get a second and 3rd opinion and sure enough the pediatric dentist and my chiropractor who specializes in pregnancy and babies all confirmed the lip and tongue tie. This was why I was bleeding while nursing and in so much pain. If it wasn't for Maggie I don't think I would have ever known. We were able to get his lip and tongue tie released within the 1st 2 weeks of birth. My son recovered very fast and Maggie even came between dentist and dr appts to make sure he was healing properly and there was no reattachment with the ties. She went over the exercises again with me and my husband. Turns out that even being an experienced nursing mama it's always good to get help when you have a newborn. I would have never known about my son's lip and tongue tie. We are now 4 months into our breastfeeding journey. 0 pain and my son is a healthy almost 17 lb baby Maggie has been so amazing. Very knowledgeable and answers all my questions even 4 months later. I wish I had this kind of support when I had my 1st but I'm so thankful I found Maggie with my 2nd and any future babies we have.

walked into the birth center in November last year, still angry and in denial that I was pregnant, but was greeted by Andrea and Maggie. I wasn't one of those women that had always dreamed of an unmedicated birth. But after my conversation with Andrea and Maggie, a natural, unmedicated, out of hospital birth was all I wanted because they gave me the encouragement and empowerment to believe in myself. So there we were beginning the journey to a birth where I was encouraged to trust Gods perfect plan and design of my body to carry and birth a baby. Andrea spent hours massaging my back to help ease the intensity. She intuitively helped us make the decision to have a home birth even though that was never the plan. She gave me confidence to believe in myself and my decision. She let me know that I was loved and supported no matter what, but mostly reminded me that I could do it. She loved me and encouraged me to trust Jesus and press into His truths when fear started to take over. Maggie didn't get to be at Jacks birth, but it was a joy watching her learn and pursue becoming a midwife. Her knowledge and ability to always answer my questions made me feel safe and heard. She was always so warm and inviting and her personality was everything I needed in so many moments throughout pregnancy. She taught me so much about my body. It was the hardest, yet most beautiful thing I have ever done and I never could've done it without them. I will forever have a special love for them. Thank you Jesus for my midwives.

I sit barely moving, and decide I better call the office and let them know. They tell me that I can be only 10 minutes late, or they will cancel my appointment. As I get closer to the Madera off ramp, I see the off ramp is closed so now I need to go further out of the way. I am trying my best to navigate to the office. and I walk in 10 minutes late EXACTLY. The middle aged white woman with dark hair is immediately rude, telling me I'm too late, and I'm trying to explain that I called and informed your office and was told I would be ok if I was up to 10 minutes late. She says no, their internal clock is set differently, and I am past the time. I need to now reschedule she says. I am livid, and I say no I'm not, and walk out. Terrible way to talk to and treat a 3 year patient of this office. I will never set foot in there again.

They are kind, knowledgeable, and supportive, but the front office and administrative side has been consistently frustrating. The administrative staff is disorganized and unprofessional. They frequently mix up appointment times, give conflicting information, and make even simple tasks feel unnecessarily difficult. They don't use email or an online portal to send updates, test results, or appointment confirmations, which makes it almost impossible to keep track of anything. Everything has to be done by phone, and the communication is often curt or dismissive. Another major frustration is that any time I need bloodwork, I have to schedule a completely separate appointment with a third-party lab instead of being able to do it in-office. This makes routine prenatal care far more inconvenient than it needs to be. I really wanted to have a good experience here, especially since the clinical care from the midwives has been positive, but the front-office management has caused so much stress and confusion that I'm choosing to switch practices. I hope they improve their administrative processes and communication in the future.

From my very first prenatal appointment through postpartum care, every midwife made me feel heard, respected, and genuinely cared for. As a first time mom, I had countless questions, and this team always answered them with patience, kindness, and without judgment. A special thank you to Midwife Angela, who delivered our son. Throughout my labor, she demonstrated an incredible balance of clinical skill, calm confidence, and compassion. When I became dehydrated and experienced cervical swelling that was actually working against dilation, she carefully monitored both me and my baby and allowed us the time and space we needed at the birth center rather than rushing interventions. She diligently checked our baby's heart rate throughout labor and remained calm and reassuring every step of the way. When it came time to push, there was a moment when our baby's heart rate dropped significantly. Angela calmly encouraged me to give one strong push, and with that push, our son entered the world safely. It's a moment I'll never forget, and I'm incredibly grateful for her guidance and expertise. After delivery, I needed stitches for a tear, and Angela repaired them with such care and gentleness. Even during one of the most physically demanding experiences of my life, she managed to keep the atmosphere light with her wonderful sense of humor, which helped me more than she probably realizes. I'm also so thankful for Midwife Tiffany, who came during the hardest part of my labor to offer encouragement and then to welcome our baby into the world. Her support meant so much during those moments. This entire midwife team provided so much more than medical care - they offered reassurance, tender hands, respect for my choices, and unwavering support throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. They helped make my first birth experience one that I will always look back on with gratitude. Thank you for helping us safely welcome our beautiful baby boy into the world. Midwife Tiffany educated us on the safety of the birth center, the benefits to mom & baby, the financial aspect, shared success stories, answered all of our questions & concerns, and finished with a complete tour of the birth center. We were both blown away by the education we received & decided we would like to try for a VBAC under their midwifery care. From October, when we took the class, to May, when our baby girl was born, we felt so seen and supported by the entire midwife team. Our girl was brought into the world by a redemptive VBAC experience & it was the best decision of our lives! Thank you to the entire Pure Births team for the constant clear communication. You all helped us achieve our what we sought to experience as a family and for that, we will forever be indebted to you! We are walking away so in awe of midwifery care, but more importantly, huge advocates for Pure Births & their lovely team.

Mary's prenatal yoga classes are incredibly calming and create such a beautiful sense of community. You meet wonderful moms and moms-to-be, and Mary has a gift for transporting you into a place of peace and relaxation during a time that can feel overwhelming and uncertain. Her prenatal doula appointments are never rushed and provide invaluable education, guidance, and preparation for birth. Throughout my pregnancy, I was able to text Mary with questions, concerns, and fears, and her insight and support were always incredibly valuable. When it came time to give birth, Mary was truly indispensable. She started as a calming presence during contractions, helping distract me from the intensity, keeping me focused, and providing constant encouragement. During pushing, she guided me through different positions and became my biggest cheerleader. After 4 1/2 hours of pushing, I had reached a point where I felt completely defeated and ready to give up. Mary never let me lose faith in myself and helped me find the strength to keep going. I truly believe that without her support, my birth experience would have looked very different and likely involved more interventions. Her care didn't stop after delivery. During postpartum visits, she arrived with delicious homemade goodies, checked in on my recovery, and continued to provide reassurance and guidance when I needed it most. Mary is a wealth of knowledge, compassion, and support during one of the most transformative, vulnerable, and sometimes scary experiences of your life. From the moment we connected, Mary's depth of knowledge, warmth, and intuition put me at ease. No question was too small, and she answered my endless stream of inquiries with patience, wisdom, and zero judgment. When it came time to labor, Mary was by my side every step of the way. Even though my birth was not what we planned, Mary advocated for me and created a calm and sacred space with soothing massages, body oils, and sound bowls. When I think back to my labor and birth story, I literally see her face... she practically labored WITH me through her hands on support, coaching, encouragement, guidance, and unwavering empowerment. It carried me through. And her care didn't stop there. Postpartum, Mary showed up at my home with a bundle of thoughtful recovery goodies. She not only provided a healing full-body massage and prepared a soothing sitz bath, but she also cleaned my (very messy) postpartum bathroom--without hesitation or judgment. Her level of care, both physically and emotionally, is unparalleled. Mary was truly a godsend during my first pregnancy, and I will undoubtedly hire her again for every one of my future births! If you're considering working with her, don't walk--RUN to book her. She is simply the best of the best.

Though initially going for a Hospital Birth since I was 43 I was immediately put in the 'High Risk' category and all the shenanigans that come with that. So, at the encouragement of a friend of ours (Natural Birth Instructor) and with my husband fully on board, we decided to take control and started interviewing Birth Centers and Midwives. What attracted us to LA Midwife Collective was that we were getting 2 licensed midwives with years of experience. The moment we met Monica and later Jennifer, we were drawn to their professionalism, knowledge, and comforting approach. They made us feel so comfortable and empowered that we knew were in capable hands for the birth of our daughter. I loved that each visit was not rushed and not just about our baby but me...what was I eating? How was I feeling? Emotionally, physically? Exercises to do and foods to add. When decisions had to be made, they made sure we had all the information needed (pros/cons) so we could make an informed decision. Jennifer & Monica quickly went from strangers to family. The birth of our baby couldn't have gone better. Though Jennifer was off that weekend our doula, Johanna who also was their birth assistant, helped with the delivery of our baby. There were moments during the pushing stage where I started to panic and doubt myself, but Monica was right there saying exactly what I needed to hear. And after the birth as my husband and I were getting acquainted with our daughter Monica was in our kitchen making us something to eat. The care didn't end at the birth when issues came up with breastfeeding Monica was extremely quick to respond to our concerns. We loved the visits made to our home 1 day and 1 week after along with the office visit at week 3 and 6. The level of care we experienced exceeded anything we could have imagined. After this experience I now believe that regardless of one's birth plan every woman should have access to this type midwifery care.
