I guess she didn't think that I was their mother maybe she thought I was a sibling because I do look quite Young my husband had to leave me behind in the fires because he's the one that flies the helicopters that fight fires sometimes. He's supposed to fly today that's why he had to leave me early this morning and couldn't wait for me to follow behind because he had a training flight day and night goggle visions tonight. So i took a detour to get back home would have been us going to Murphy's and going around. I wanted a pound of chocolate but I couldn't see how much it was per pound I think it was $14 dollars for half a pound but my eyes were burning and I didn't have glasses so I couldn't see I didn't even get a half pound or a full pound and then after I picked my chocolates she kept coughing over my chocolates I don't understand such a sweet little old lady why would she be not very pleasant to someone that's buying chocolates to make a happy day for someone. I'm a military wife just trying to make the best days out of days that are not so happy. I still ate the chocolate even though she coughed on them Lol I have an immune system problem and if she was sick I could get very sick because I have a weak immune system. I was ready to spend $100 cash but my older son pulled me away and said let's go mom because i was acting like a little girl in the candy shop not paying attention how rudely I was being treated. maybe you should remember making treats and candies are supposed to be a pleasant thing because when you cook you cook with love and generosity to show love towards others that's the model that i live by. because that's how our heavenly father teaches us to be kind to others.

I wanted to enjoy a cup of coffee, so I quickly searched for local coffee spots and Mok A Java came up! This cute coffee shop is located in the historic gold rush town of Mokelumne Hill! When we arrived, we were greeted incredibly kindly by the owner. She asked us what we wanted and I told her we were down for anything. She recommended the caramel latte for me, which I wanted to add lavender to as well. She promptly obliged. My husband went with a surprise drink, and was presented with a wonderful brown sugar cinnamon latte. We both chose a large size for our drinks! Normally, the larges come with 4 shots of espresso, but I only wanted 2 as 4 is a bit much for me. My husband went with the normal 4 shots. Our drinks were out in no time. The coffee was incredibly smooth and well-balanced! The amount of ice was perfect as well. We also decided to support another local shop and purchased some spicy Cajun corn nuts crafted Moke Hill Nuts & Candies. They have been selling their snacks for over 20 years and are still going strong! A solid 5 stars for this amazingly cute coffee shop. If you're ever in the area and driving along the 49, definitely stop by Mok A Java for your coffee and snack fix. You certainly won't be disappointed! We will definitely drive down every so often just to support this cute little place.

The taffy is displayed in big barrels, which makes it so fun for the kids to mix and match their favorites. My husband is obsessed with the pickle-flavored taffy (and says it really does taste just like a pickle!), while I stick with the sweeter flavors. My daughters picked out an assortment of taffy, my youngest walked out with a baseball-sized jawbreaker, and my son had a blast putting together his own candy mix and grabbing a Mexican Coca-Cola. It's a cute little shop with a nostalgic feel, and the owner is always friendly and welcoming. We've been here more than once, and every time it's such a fun experience. Definitely a great spot for a unique sweet treat, and we're already looking forward to our next visit!

What a quaint little coffee shop in downtown Sutter Creek!…read more We were running some errands the other week and I needed an afternoon pick-me-up. I remembered that Chocolatte was nearby and decided to go support a local business. It's been a hot minute since I've gotten a coffee from them, and I was intrigued by their Valentine's Day menu. Ultimately I went with an iced Cupid's Cherry Kiss, while my husband wanted an affogato with extra shot. The staff were friendly and efficient at making our beverages. While we waited, we took a seat by the window to people watch. My drink was so cute, especially with the sprinkles. They added a lovely texture to a velvety chai. I appreciated that it wasn't too sweet even with the sprinkles and cherry white chocolate. As expected, the affogato was strong with the extra shot, but still smooth without being bitter. I need to remember to come back to Chocolatte more often. There's plenty of seating and the vibes are so cozy. Prices are okay, a little high but I'd rather be supporting a local business than Starbucks. They also have various pastries to choose from. We didn't get any this time but they all looked so fresh and good. PS: They also serve Gunther's ice cream!

The next morning, we heard from the locals the Choc-O-Latte that serves good breakfast so we went. It is known for its specialty coffees, lattes, and a wide variety of chocolates and desserts, including truffles, eclairs, and s'mores treats. The cafe offers a cozy, historic atmosphere making it a great spot for a quick treat. The cafe has an outdoor patio, and is dog-friendly as we met one who was popular and friendly with the locals. We ordered almond croissants and lattes and were delicious. Other friend had ice cold chai latte. The servers were young and nice. We don't mind returning to their nice cafe shop if we are in the area.

The inside was lined on both sides with some many different candies - I was almost overwhelmed! We took home the jellies, dark chocolate almond bark, a discounted Valentine's Day chocolate heart box, handmade marshmallows and a couple of other goodies! Staff were friendly! Would absolutely recommend anyone stop in, they've got options for just about anyone.
