This store is just amazing! They are so courteous, gracious and you will find great homeopathic remedies and can pretty much grocery shop at the same time. We got organic blueberries, milk, some veggies and some itch cream ( I'm having some winter allergies having moved from the Bay Area.) They gave me several samples and told me that whatever works they'll get for me. Superior service, great selection of yeasts, rice, pastas, etc and all of it good for you. This is a well stocked store of a type that we really need here, and locals get very good service, most of the time. Ignore the whine of a tourist who thinks you need to snap to the moment he approaches the counter. Remember, you're out in the boondocks and they tend to do things a little differently here. Favorite natural food and other product store in town. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and always sharing yummy samples of new products. The body wash and shampoos are the best and prices are low and sales often. I find great fresh produce at fair prices and it tastes way better than Raleys or Safeway. This shop is more than the "local health food store" in Jackson, CA. This store packs in a little bit of everything for the health conscience clients. And also those who come in looking for unique gifts to give others, or treat themselves. The floor plan is a pleasant meandering type set up. Always clean and well organized. The produce section has locally grown produce and fruits - always arranged beautifully and appealing to the customer's eye. I am willing to pay a bit more knowing that they have fresh organics and the growers are also 'locals'. Community contributing to Community, how wonderful for both farmers/growers and customers! I was simply shocked at the single star review from last June!! (apparently not a 'local' who's review may have been based on a SINGLE time?) I've been a customer at Gold Trail for OVER A DECADE; and I can state honestly and quite frankly that I've never seen ANYONE chatting on a personal phone call, not EVER! The young lady with glasses has always been my go to gal. She is a walking encyclopedia of all things stocked in the shop and their benefits and uses (as well as offering to special order any products or items requested). I thought she may have been the owner initially but she only works there full time. Customers will not find pushy saleswomen or be "shadowed" by an anxious to help employee. Other women who work there are customer friendly also without being invasive. Many customers are known by name. And the ladies welcome them into the store already aware of what repeat customers are picking up or coming in for. I was and always have been given personal assistance each and every time I've gone into Gold Trail and asked a question or needed to find something. We are so blessed to have a locally owned store that caters to the residents of Amador County!
