Hey there! This is my 2nd time coming to this restaurant & I can say that the restaurant has an attractive appearance. My wife loves the music atmosphere in the building, you can also see other customers grooving to the music so they know how to please their customers ears. I love the artwork they have in the back, makes you feel like a NY graffiti alley. I find it very interesting I guess since I'm interested in this type of art. Now for the service, every time we come by we always run into a very nice & sweet lady but we can tell one of the employees does have an attitude from the group. I'm glad we didn't have to deal with her, life is stressing but when you come to work it's best to leave the attitude behind & put your best A game while you're at work. Let's go now with food, I enjoy soul food. It's just some kind of food that gets you stuffed. Makes me feel like I'm enjoying a home cooked meal, their food is delicious. I'm not picky & I don't like down shamming anyone's business. That's not how I roll, I have a business myself & I know I'd dislike someone who understands situations or value of what they do. But, I did have an issue on the temperature of the food. It comes out lukewarm & it's a little disappointing because you're waiting at least 10-15 mins before you get your food. I would atleast appreciate the food being a little warmer. In this order, my wife got oxtails with Mac & Cheese & Fried Okra. She was pleased with her order! I love their cornbread muffin, it has amazing flavors! I got the honey croissant this time with my smoked chicken, it wasn't bad but I guess I was digging the honey on the croissant. Chicken was good, i enjoyed it & the veggies are great. I got steam cabbage, their seasonings were amazing. I also got veggies, they came out great. This was a frustrating experience. My meal was supposed to be ready long before I arrived. I was told it would be 4 more minutes for my order and then when it came out they gave another customer my order, when I said multiple times that it was my order that they were giving away. 20 more minutes passed and then I checked again, they asked my name and then proceeded to say that they don't have my name on the registry even though they said they were working on it multiple times earlier. At the end they made a derogatory remark about one of the workers and blamed it on them not being able to speak english. I ended up just asking for whatever they had ready as my order took too long. Several articles of my order were missing and they still tried to charge me for them. It was very unprofessional. The first time at this location. I have been to the one in Decatur before. This one is extremly clean! just like the other location it tastes like your grandma cooked all the food. This was my first visit to this location. I typically go to the Lawrenceville location in the area, but I haven't visited either location in about two years. This restaurant is next to Bahama Breeze, along with a strip of shops and other restaurants. Upon entering, I was greeted by the cashier, who informed me that I could scan a QR code for the menu. I usually order either the pork chops or the turkey wings, and this time I chose the turkey wings with macaroni and cheese, corn, and yellow rice that comes with the wings. I also had a banana pudding, of course. Let's start with the positives: the banana pudding was fantastic, as it always is. I've never had a bad experience with it during my years of patronizing this restaurant; it truly is amazing. The corn was good, and the macaroni and cheese were just okay--not excellent, but not bad. However, the turkey wing was disappointing. It wasn't the typical taupe gravy color I expected; it seemed more like packet gravy. It wasn't tender or falling off the bone, as is customary when eating turkey wings. I would rate it a three on a scale of one to ten. The total for my meal came to almost $25. Do I think it was worth that price? Not really. However, I recognize that food prices are high, which seems to align with the market rate for soul food restaurants. I was so hungry, I dont know if I actually got a real taste of the food-lol! Becoming vegetarian has its challenges and this place was not one of them, they had them SIDES!!! The veggie plate was like $16 which came with 4 sides-all very flavorful-I think! I ordered collard greens, cabbage, mac & cheese, and Black Eyed Peas, the Black Eyed Peas were actually placed in a side container and not photographed. I absolutely love the set up of this location, you can actually sit down and get your grub on. They have fountain drinks at this location as well. So we got duped again! We keep saying we're not coming to this place anymore. Yesterday my husband was ill & we wanted something quick to eat before heading down the street from this restaurant to Kaiser's Emergency Hospital because we knew we'd probably be there all night. We both got 2 turkey wing plates they come with rice & gravy plus 2 sides. I got double cabbage as my sides & my husband got potato salad & sweet potato souffle plus a side of cabbage ($6.00+). The turkey wings were not fresh again! They were baked some other day, reheated yesterday & served to customers. The meat was dried out & old tasting-definitely left over from a few days before yesterday. The cabbage was left over to o& or over cooked but didn't seem freshly made. Stop selling old leftover food to customers!!! $60.00+ for leftover food. We usually frequent the other location on Herrington Rd in Lawrenceville where the food is a little better prepared but we out in Duluth so we chose this location. Do better!!! read more

Busy place! People coming in and out, but service is friendly and takes the time for each order to be happy. Very clean, most people take things to go, or at least when I went, but they also have outside seating! Cobbler was good amount of sweetness, I like that it's not too sugary! Could be the piece I had, but I thought I had too much breading. Collard greens and cabbage were seasoned nicely in their own way, tender, and definitely will order that again! The restaurant was a little spacious with indoor and outdoor seating area they had one high chair which i was glade it was available for me and my little one to be seat . Not a real big ambiance the place was set up simple. The food was good i give it a over all 7/10 for the restaurant over all the best thing was the red velvet cake and the pineapple with ginger lemonade i loved them both . We decided to try the oxtail with rice and the two sides we had were Mac and cheese with sweet potato soufflé and my baby had the kids meal chicken tenders with fries which both orders came with a piece of cornbread. This is a hot bar behind the counter type of place. When walking in there is a vibe. Music playing and you receive a nice welcome. I wasn't sure what to order but Willie came to the rescue. I asked his fav, even though I didn't order any of his favs I ended with one of the most popular dishes. I ordered turkey wings, mac and cheese and collard greens with honey butter croissant. The location is great. Parking lot with lots of space. Everyne is polite and greet you as you walk in. They were quick to give suggestions and answer any questions we had about the menu. The vibe inside the restaurant was pretty chill. Not very big but enough to enjoy your meal. The winner for this meal was the catfish! It was fried to perfection. It has a decent amount of cheese but not too much flavor. The consistency is a little more runny than I prefer. Spicy green beans : 5/10 Nothing special. Perhaps canned green beans with just crushed red pepper or cayenne thrown in the pot. Could use more love Cabbage : 6/10 Had a little flavor but taste more on the Caribbean side than soul food side. Idk maybe add some smoked turkey or something to it, but then I know it won't appeal to the vegans. While visiting Duluth I came across this restaurant. The outside is very inviting and the inside is just the same. Anyone walking through the door is greeted with a smile and they don't rush you to order. I had the blackened catfish and shrimp which was on point and recommend to everyone. The Mac was nice & cheesy- always a great side to get from here. The dressing w/ the turkey gravy on top is the bomb! My daughter & nephew both had catfish- IT WAS GREAT!!
