This restaurant is located inside a lounge which was pretty nice and they were playing good music. Staff was very nice and attentive. I had the snapper with rice and peas and plantain and a side of jerk pork. So good! Everything was well seasoned and the portions were also pretty big and worth the money. I'm used to going to bamboo next to the gas station but now they moved inside this lounge across the street by the racetrac and up the prices, drove 40mins for their oxtails and got charged $132 for 3 plates.. like normal plates of oxtails $36 per plate and the chick decided to autograt on the order that was to go. RASTA PASTA!!!! That is all you need to know... well, that combined with brown stewed chicken as a lunch special for $6.50. I was so one-track minded that I didn't really bother to look closely at the menu when I walked in for the first time on June 12th, 2018. I'd bookmarked this place a few months back after reading another yelpers review that described the oxtails as being the best they'd had outside of their own Caribbean heritage. So I had oxtails on the brain and could not be deterred by menu choices. However, after hearing a customer in line order the RASTA PASTA, I was intrigued by the cleverness of the name. So I asked her if she would recommend it and her response was so enthusiastic, I knew I had to try it! So glad I did because it was friggin' delicious! Best described as a penne pasta w/yellow alfredo sauce seasoned with Caribbean flavors and just a hint of spicy heat. I also order the OXTAILS as I had planned, and although they were good, they took a back seat to the pasta. My only complaint with the oxtails was the price and lack of meatiness. But no complaints on flavor. The oxtails were very good and slightly sweet, which was a delightful surprise. The CABBAGE and PLANTAINS included with each meal were better than average when compared to other Caribbean restaurants in the Atlanta area. I also hope to try the curry chicken patty on my next visit. I'd never heard of a curry chicken patty so I was totally intrigued, but it was going to take 30 minutes for a fresh batch to be made and I didn't have the time to wait. If I could give 0 stars I would. I came here and ordered a jerk pork dinner. The jerk pork is not out at the front like all other dishes they serve... the lady at the front plated my rice, steamed veg & plantain & put it down & told someone at the back a jerk pork order. Went to the back & put reheated jerk pork in the box. See picture where all the pieces were clumped together as if it was frozen & reheated. I have come here many times before & had great jerk pork & this time was just terrible. It wasn't fresh. It was cooked long before.. put down & reheated. Instead of offering an apology - the manger/owner/whoever is more senior than the person who answers the phone.. she asked me to bring the pork back today (it's 5:44pm) or tomorrow.... I order the jerk chicken and curry chicken lunch special from here frequently. I always think about switching it up to try something new but these dishes are so good I can't. My husband and I are pretty tough critics and the only complaint HE had was that his brown stew fish wasn't hot. This recently popped up on my Uber Eat app to try. Not sure why I have never seen it before since they have been around a few years. I am always looking for a Jamaican restaurant that has Jerk Pork on the menu as this is my favorite Jamaican dish but most restaurants rarely have it. So this was the first thing I look for when looking at this menu and was pleasantly surprised to see that had it. So I decided to give it a shot. OMG...I am a Jerk Pork snob and I have just discovered the BEST ever! Not only is it spiced right with nice heat but they use giant chucks of crispy pork belly!!! This will become my new addiction. Sighs...Before ordering, I was really excited to try this restaurant based on the reviews. Well, I called in an order for Brown Stew Chicken, Rasta Pasta, and Jerk Wings. I was told everything would be ready in 15 minutes. My husband went to pick up my order (after the allotted time), and it want ready. The worker that was there told him that, for call in orders, they will not make the food until the customer was there. So, what's the point of letting me place the order? I should have been told this when I called in, smh. Also, the employee had to call the owner to ask her/him what I ordered, which was wrong. The Jerk Wings were left out. As for the food...The Brown Chicken wasn't tender at all. It was also too sweet. The pasta also wasn't that great. You could tell from the consistency, that it was sitting out for a while, and wasn't fresh. I definitely would not patronize this business again. read more

Was in the area and decided to stop in for lunch, as I hadn't been in awhile. Service and food has gone down hill. The employees always seem to have a bad attitude and the prices has increased again, which I guess I can understand. However, the quantity of the food should be the same. But, they now charge more $$ for less food. Went in for oxtails plate. The size of the plate is what they use to consider a medium. It is now the only size they carry @$23.95/plate, plus tax. I received a scoop of rice & peas, about 2 tbsp of cabbage and 3 BONES of oxtails with hardly any meat. Just bones and fat! I asked for gravy and was told that extra gravy would cost and additional $1.25... Really??? I won't be back! There's a much better Caribbean restaurant down the street in Snellville, that's well worth the extra couple miles. read more

I had the jerk chicken, my philosophy is to start off with a dish that all the other places do. Bamboo's was very good. They grill the chicken first then let it cook nice and slow. The jerk sause is a BBQ with the jerk added. It starts with a little sweet then the flavor/heat comes in. The rice and peas were a little under cooked but the cabbage was very good and made up for the rice and peas. The staff was courteous and friendly, and put gravy on the rice when I asked, she even warned me the sause was hot. The price is average for a Jerk place. $10 for a small $12 for a large. After everything is said and done your looking at $20 to $25 for two people. I will go back! read more

As for food quality, this place used to be the absolute best in the area. Something happened during the pandemic and they've taken a nose dive.
