It was my first visit to Oggi, and I will definitely be returning. I have long thick wavy hair which can be intimidating, but Nikki got straight down to business assessing my needs, looking at photos, and making some genius suggestions for my new style. She was extremely professional, friendly, and efficient. She made me feel welcome, but also focused on the job at hand, which I appreciated. The interior of the salon itself isn't that memorable, apart from the separate coat room which is a plus. (The receptionist will instruct you to hang your coat and select a frock to adorn during your session - a nice touch in the winter when you're wearing a zillion layers!) There's lot of parking available in the back. And the salon is right next to Starbucks - great location for caffeinoids like myself. The cut itself is what impressed me the most. I first reached out via their Yelp page to inquire about an appointment. They were super responsive even during the days they were closed. You do have to place a credit card on file when you make your appointment. They also contacted me a few hours prior to let me know the hairstylist was available if I'd like to come in sooner which I greatly appreciated. Upon walking in, I was greeted immediately and after completing the new client forms, I was offered a refreshment. I went with red wine and was so surprised at this kindness. My hairstylist was Lindsay and she was AWESOME. She asked me questions and double checked with me on everything she was doing. My coworker: I went to Melissa in Manchester... Me: That's in my neck of the woods. Give me her contact info. Like...NOW. Well, it went down something like that. I'm trying to catch the enthusiasm and absolutely heart stopping need to get my hair done by whoever crafted what was on my co-worker's head. A phone call or two later, I had an appointment with Melissa. She's very accommodating and knows her stuff. Within a week, I was sitting in her chair and she was doing my hair cut using a technique I've never seen. She seems so casual, chats you up, and all the while she's eyeballing your head and hair 360 degrees. She cuts the hair wet. Then dries it and recuts its. Then she walks around your chair, checking out your hair and will go back in many times to do little tweaks and touch ups. Talk about good with details! You can tell she's been doing this for a long time because if your stylist has such a laid-back attitude while you're in the chair, you're either with an idiot or you're with someone who REALLY KNOWS what they're doing. Melissa definitely hit this cut out of the park. She was able to give me a really nice cut, she took a lot of hair out, gave it a shape, and it still has some length. I really like it. I felt before my hair was blah, which she pointed out what was going wrong with it, and how she would rectify it. And she went above rectifying...she gave me...Beautiful Hair. She is also very much into education. She will give you a ton of styling tips while you sit in the chair and after. She is adamant that if you have any questions, she's just a phone call away. So, to wrap this up, great little studio space, awesome stylist, and great hairstyle. Done. Done. Done. Get your butt over there. You won't regret it even if you have to drive a bit. She's that good.

With that being said, the woman who did my hair fried it, I have fine hair, you don't get to rip it out, she literally pulled the comb though the knots she created, anyone with common sense knows you don't do that, even after conditioning my hair it felt dry and fried, she was extremely rough and couldn't tell that I was getting madder each pull of my head. If this is how paying customers are treated you do not belong in business, and the hairdresser should be fried or retrained, but in my opinion she doesn't belong as a hairdresser. I will never ever go back, she didn't even cut or style it as requested. Very poor service and quality, I guess you get what you pay for.
