Very important to understand that you work for the customer the customer doesn't work for you, the customer pays you, you don't pay the customer. Your job is to do what is asked of you by the customer not what you want to do. With that being said, the woman who did my hair fried it, I have fine hair, you don't get to rip it out, she literally pulled the comb though the knots she created, anyone with common sense knows you don't do that, even after conditioning my hair it felt dry and fried, she was extremely rough and couldn't tell that I was getting madder each pull of my head. If this is how paying customers are treated you do not belong in business, and the hairdresser should be fried or retrained, but in my opinion she doesn't belong as a hairdresser. I will never ever go back, she didn't even cut or style it as requested. Very poor service and quality, I guess you get what you pay for. read more

Came in on a Monday and had a line of men that all needed haircuts. There were one man and a woman that was cutting hair. Very laid back business, because they know they will always have people that need their hair cut. There is a simple paper and pen to sign up and they call your name when you're up. If you aren't in a rush then the place is fine, if you are well you better head somewhere else. They had a TV to entertain you if you don't want to be on your phone. After waited I was finally called up to get my hair cut. I've usually reviewed food and not haircuts, but you are I had a quick cut with a 2 in cut on the sides and scissors on top. He was attentive taking care of my side burns and back. Its hair, it'll grow back in a month or two. Don't expect a hot towel, massage or anything of the sort. THIS SALON, Vivian and her staff are the best....I travel to the area on business...had a color disaster...panicking, I could find a salon in the area to help me....until I called Express Cuts....CLASS ACT all the way. My little boy gets his hair here from couple of weeks and loves every single time. This place is close by and is in a convenient location. The salon is clean and maintained well. The prices are a real bet in the area and Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday prices are really worth coz of their specials 12.95$. My whole family comes here for a hair cut mainly because of the low price($12.95 mon- wed) and also coz of its convenient location( in BJ's complex) They have ample parking just outside . They also take reservations (except on Mondays it's walk ins only coz of high volume of customers) The lady who cut my hair was Asian and she was really sweet .... I have scanty,dry hair unmanageable hair and she gave me lot of tips on how to maintain it. These guys will cut your huurs. Like with any place that does it your experience will depend on who you get. I had a nice young Asian chap think his name is Henry , did a swell job on me. Would recommend him. Good precision and fine tuning. I would return to get a cut with him if I needed one. Price is comparable to any other regular ole place that does huurs. My wife needed a haircut after booking family photos and it was too close to get an appointment with her normal stylist. We went to Express Cuts due to the location and price. Unfortunately we got what we paid for. I dropped her off around 4pm - they closed at 5 that day. When I picked her up everything seemed great and she was satisfied with the cut. Once we got home that all changed. Since her hair was half blown dry at the time she rewet her hair and styled it. As she did she noticed sections of hair that were still at the original length which was several inches longer. Chunks closer to her neck were also left longer all be it trimmed. Over the next two days we trimmed sections as we found them totalling about 1/4 cup of hair. I'm a firm believer in being able to get quality at a fair price. Unfortunately this seemed like a rush job to get cleaned up for closing time. I know some would say that we should have given them the chance to fix it. Why would we risk it being even worse when they took money for a job that should have been done right the first time? The price was right, the shop was clean but the cut was subpar and we will not be going back. read more

I was there yesterday & even before I sat in the chair I showed the "stylist " a picture of what I wanted & asked if she could do it, she said she had done many like it & could do it. I asked her to leave it a bit longer " in case she screwed up it could be fixed". After a while she removed my glasses from my face & went about with the cut. I was in the chair for 15-20 mins. When she was done she gave me a mirror to look at the back, she also took a picture of the back & side with my phone. Because of the angle she took the picture with it looked ok. I had errands to run & when I got to a store that had a mirror I was horrified !!My haircut was nothing like the picture. Well, maybe one side was. One side was at least an inch shorter than the other, it was not angled as in the picture I showed her & it was not stacked in the back. Even if a person does not understand what you are saying a picture should suffice. read more

Brought my son there on a Sunday. Had no appointment walked in and had to sign in at the counter. We waited about 15 to 20 minutes for the next available "hairstylist". After the haircut, I just gave a quick look at his hair paid and left. Afterwords we got home I started looking at it a little closer and noticed he had a spot in the back of his head that she cut rate down and left a bald spot in the front was extremely uneven. Very shabby workmanship. Will not go back there again nor would I ever recommend this place. read more

If I could I would put zero stars. Terrified of even taking a random salon recommendation EVER again. My reason because of my HORRIFIC experience with the stylist KELLY. I don't know about the rest of the staff but if they hired some like her to work there it makes me question the quality there. I have fine, curly hair; lots of hair but fine and curly all the same. I'm a Latina, and as most people know we take incredible pride in our hair. Mine was down to my hip, I'm just short of 5'8" tall. I ask for a trim and told the stylist KELLY that my hair was lightly layered. She starts by combing my hair out DRY with a fine tooth comb. WHO COMBS CURLY HAIR DRY WITH A FINE TOOTH COMB?!?! She then proceeds to RIP knots that she made out of my hair, literally grabbed and personally rips the knots out. I ask if I could help her out, she tells me she's got it. THEN SHE START TO CUT IT, DRY. I ask her, "Would you like me to wet my hair before you start cutting?" Again, she's, "Got it." She starts to cut my hair DRY. As she is cutting, I see chucks dropping to the floor. She even admits that it's hard to tell where she cut and where it needs to be cut. If she would have wet it before cutting??? I start to boil over but instead of following the stereotype of being a loud mouth Hispanic, I sat there and start to cry. She tells me she's done and I see Doc from Back to the Future staring back at me in the mirror with SHOULDER LENGTH HAIR!!! Dry and foamed out beyond belief. I go wet, comb, bun my hair up, walk out the door and go straight to the salon I go to once a year and have always and excellent experience with (Hair Cuttery in Vernon, CT). They fixed as much at they could with the damage KELLY had done. They were in shock asking me, "What in the world happened to your hair?" When every stylist in a salon checks out your hair out of sheer horror you know you've been f#cked. I write this as a warning to anyone who's looking for a new stylist, either stick with your old one or go to Hair Cuttery in Vernon, CT where they know what the Hell they are doing. read more
