She has an absurd amount of experience and knows exactly how to focus on the couple so that it is a stress free day! The grounds are beautiful- they put a ton of work into making sure flowers are blooming, everything is clean, and the set up is exactly how you like it. They maintain tons of lights that make the venue look like something out of a fairy tale. Teresa went out of her way to help me during the planning process so that everything was prepared and she took care to communicate all of the details with us so it was all taken care of. She solved countless crises (the cake baker backing out last minute, the rehearsal dinner being double booked, our outside caterer being non responsive, I could go on...) without ever adding stress to my plate and with always taking care of the problem in a quick and professional manner. Everything is also priced very reasonably- I honestly would have been willing to pay double what we did for the great service we got and the beauty of the venue. Also, we received massive discounts from other vendors because they love working at Glencliff so much. The bouquets were also incredible! Teresa included extra flowers and designed the bouquets to fit in perfectly with the rest of the day. She is clearly an expert in her trade. The grounds are breath-taking! (Many of our wedding guests were very complimentary on how beautiful Glencliff was!) Teresa was wonderful to work with - she handled so many details for us that would have been difficult to take care of long distance. Although we did not use all of her "team" for one-stop-shopping, it was nice to have that option. We had our wedding ceremony at a nearby church and Teresa was there for the rehearsal and service, making sure everything came off without a hitch! Teresa did a beautiful job with the bridal party flowers, the poolside spread of hors de oeurves, and a delicious dinner. Her DJ, Carla, was fabulous - handled the job of Master of Ceremonies professionally and kept thing running smoothly! I was most impressed with Teresa's willingness to do what she could to make it truly "our wedding". We appreciated her expertise and suggestions but bottom line, she listened to what the bride desired and did all she could to accommodate our requests - even if it meant making last minute changes. Her culinary skills are amazing as she prepares an delicious breakfast on the weekends. We also hosted a pre wedding cocktail party at the Inn that was catered by Agnes and staffed by Toni and Chelsea, all of whom kept the guests well fed and everyone's glass full throughout the night. They really bent over backwards to accommodate us when my daughter's wedding party utilized the cottage to get ready for the ceremony. Can't say enough about this place. Arriving we didn't see any signs to the Inn so it was a little confusing and weird driving up to the Inn. We were welcomed inside by Keri and she apologized for the confusion and said they were working on signage. Keri was fantastic and first thing she did was show us to our room and took us on a little tour of the place. She gave us a lot of insight onto the house and its previous owners and how old it is. There is so much character and each room and the way they have each of them setup brings our the personality of each room. We were staying in the Wanderlust room and it was a beautiful with a great view of the open grounds next to the estate. It really felt as if we were staying a close friends house for the weekend. Keri kept us engaged, made sure we had anything we wanted, opened up the kitchen to us if we wanted any snacks. And there is nothing like waking up in the morning to have breakfast made for you when you come downstairs. I loved our stay here, we never slept so well, and I thank the comfortable bed for that but, I also think we were made to feel at home by a very friendly innkeeper. Like, 100% changed my mind and needed to have the wedding there. From day one Victoria was AMAZING in helping us budget, plan, and coordinate the wedding. Their list of recommended vendors was a literal lifesaver in picking out the key people in the wedding. Victoria was checking in and keeping me on track throughout the whole planning process. The space is gorgeous. The house has a bridal, groom, and family suites upstairs to get ready in. Downstairs is a nice area for cocktail hour. The ballroom was large and beautiful for our reception. There are also many places outside to have a ceremony! They were so flexible in allowing me to use the space in a way that made sense for us. Everything is so personalized and unique to your wedding. Now, if that wasn't a 5 star review in itself the day of coordination might as well bump it up to a 10 star. On the wedding day Victoria made sure I was 100% stress free by organizing my vendors, keeping the bridal room calm, and doing every behind the scene thing you can imagine. The wedding was outdoors overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains and it was a cold November day, so Victoria set up a hot chocolate station with blankets to keep our guests comfortable. During the reception she made sure my husband and I were eating, drinking, and having a great time. They were even flexible enough to extend the reception for an hour because everyone was having so much fun! I couldn't ask for a better wedding. Biggest Mistake of My Life…read more My fiancé and I were scheduled to be married November 7, 2020 at the venue. However, due to the global pandemic and steady rise of cases across the nation, we would like to postpone our event to the fall of 2021. We both are honest, hard-working individuals (healthcare professionals in fact). We do not want to (and will not) put the safety of our friends and family in jeopardy to host our special day (both of us are blessed to have all grandparents still living). We certainly could not live with ourselves if our wedding was the cause of an isolated outbreak of COVID-19, causing significant morbidity and mortality to our guests. Therefore, we contacted the trivium last week to explore our alternatives. However, we shortly discovered the venue is scheduled to be sold in 2021 and not booking future weddings. It is undetermined at this time as to whether the estate will reopen as a wedding venue. After admitting the venue could not accommodate our needs, the owner (Heidi Baker) refused to return our initial deposit. The owner proposed she could reschedule our wedding to January of 2021 and delay the closing of the venue. However, this did not accommodate our needs. In my professional opinion, postponing a wedding scheduled outdoors to January is nonsensical. On a further note, annual influenza season peaks between December and February which would increase the risk of severe health complications among our guests. We are simply seeking the refund of our initial deposit so we may secure future wedding arrangements. The initial deposit would certainly go a LONG way on future preparations! If you are looking to book a venue for your wedding this year DO NOT consider this venue.
