We drove over an hour to this facility on Valentine's Day and overall it was a really good experience. There were 5 wine options on the menu and they were all really good. The wine tasting also included some history of the Haak, lesson on the characteristics of wine such as tannins, wine swirl and acidity. It was very informative. They also have vendor who sells desserts. I ordered the Dubai strawberries which was really good and paired well with the wines. The only downside was that we felt like the wine tasting ended abruptly. There was no follow-up or attempt to get us to buy a glass or bottle, so we ended up leaving. Overall it was a good experience but they missed the mark at the end. If we lived closer, I'd definitely try them again.

We arrived here on a Saturday in Mid-March on a sunny day where the track was filled with vehicles and nothing but sounds of engines and tires screeching. If you're a racing guy or someone who loves cars, then this was paradise. As you pull in here, there's a garage with a bleachers area that oversees the track. The track has some sharp turns making it a fun yet nervewracking experience if you're not familiar with the track. By my second and third laps in the car, I got the hang of it and decided to let it rip. Boy oh boy, I get why people are obsessed with vehicles and engines since the feeling from the acceleration is pure ecstasy from a thrill perspective. Depending what events are here, I encourage people to try this at least once for the experience. It's not cheap so be prepared to spend some cash for the need for speed!

Those website pictures are old. The place is falling apart. A-dock is newer, but power is bad. We had 112 volts with nothing on, went down to 106 volts with 2 air conditioners on. It kept tripping the 50 amp breaker at 26 amps. So, we ran just one a/c in the salon while watching tv, then swapped to the rearr berth a/c to sleep and shower. We called the harbormaster but they leave at 5 pm. We were on our own. The breaker tripped aeveral times during the night, and its summer. Wake up, dreas and fo outside and reset several times. While we were there, their biggest dock, F-dock, cement dock crumbled and fell in the water half way down. The boats on the second half of rhe dock are no longer accessible. The resturaunt is fantastic, live music, great food. The swim up bar is nice. The condos and pool at condos looks real nice, the rest of the place is a dump. One guy said he had to fix his own electrical pedestal so he could keep his batteries charged while away. We also had no water at our dock pedestal. ​

(sad face) We paid $20 each for the buffet---salad (out of a bag) rolls (kinda hard) sweet potatoes, green string beans w/bacon, pork loin w/mushrooms, charbroiled chicken breast with a white cream sauce. The meat and veggies were delicious! (note to front of house manager---bread saucers would be nice) Our server was Jamie...she was friendly and efficient. The country club itself is very plain...and outdated. Just nothing to write about really. No island or Texas history, minimal Christmas decor...bar and dining area is like old ugly banquet rooms. Felt like I was in a church banquet hall...but, Jesus was talking about boob jobs and partying!!! Can I get an amen?!! LOL! C'mon rich peoples...help remodel your private party place.

In collaboration with Racing Adventures, I gifted my partner a few laps in an exotic car of his choice, which quickly morphed into the, "I'm hooked. Let's come back. I want more laps" experience gift of the year...I think I'll be stuck coming out to this track for years to come. Aka. Houston Grandsport Motorsports Park, know this gem is near Galveston, as opposed to Houston proper. Also know, this historic speedway is where John Mecom Jr housed and developed three of the five Grandsport Corvette Racecars in the sixties. Also also know the Speedway was formerly a WWII Naval Air Station and it shows. This beautiful backdrop provides an unmatched driving experience & history lesson only enhanced by the staff. They walked through the history, walked my partner through the track and turns in a traditional car, and provided support as he drove the exotic. We later discussed a few of the additional cars, and were allowed to stay to watch someone drive the lemans winning legend Ford GT40. I'm neither a car enthusiast nor history buff, but I had fun photographing the vehicles, watching laps & petting Heidi (the dog). If your corporation is looking for a team building experience, you have an event to celebrate, or you want to be partner of the year, I highly recommend this experience. *oh, and ignore the signs on your road in...you're at the right place *And make sure your driver wants to drive bc you cannot reschedule

I stopped the guy that drives the waste management truck. His name is Al. I have a dead animal in…read moremy backyard and I just returned home after about a week and that thing must've gotten attacked by something and has been steadily decaying ever since then, and I couldn't even look at it without freaking out, but this guy Al hopped out of his truck and handled business. Who said chivalry is dead? Not Al, definitely not Al. The guy was so kind. He called his supervisor asking if he could remove it for me and dispose of it. They referred me to animal control, but he got out of his truck he came over. He looked at it. He was so so nice and really really made the experience bearable so I appreciate his kindness if the world had even a few more Al's in it, we would be a much much better place
