It's a store with a ton of educational supplies. Some worthy of your money - some not so much... As a homeschooler, I find a lot of manipulatives here that are pretty useful: i.e. place value, time & money, word and vocabulary building, etc. There's an enormous assortment of workbooks, games, and STEM products adequate for any classroom - whether home or institutional. Albeit easy for someone new to the world to become overwhelmed. The staff seem friendly, although not many are super versed in the educational aspect of what the store hosts (example - I called asking for pentominoes and they were ALL clueless), so I'd most certainly recommend going armed with enough knowledge of what you're looking for before stepping inside. You'll leave less frustrated. Oh, and another piece of advice...it's definitely not cheap and many of the products are packaged for multiple children. So if you have one or two children and not an entire classroom of 20+, I'd suggest paying attention to what you grab in store or ordering less quantities online. On the few occasions I've come to this store there was no help offered and the ladies behind the counter were very dismissive. It's understandable when the store is busy but I waited 10 minutes in line while they helped other people who just walked up to the counter. When I asked if I was in the correct line, they finally acknowledged me. I'll look elsewhere for supplies or order online. Customer service should be important for everyone - not just those that look like the employees. read more

Be careful with the store they care more about their policy than their customers. My 10-year-old son bought a squishy not the one he wanted, but the only one l in stock and when he got to the truck to open it, it was broken in the bag. We went back in to see if they would make it right since they sold us broken product, but they told us no, our policy is we don't take squishies back and there's nothing they could do. I have five children and they lost a customer over a five dollar squishing way to go Lakeshore Learning. read more

I had to put this under "toy stores" though in reality it is that and a teacher supply store. I realised when I mentioned this place in the review for Learning Express I'd not done one for Lakeshore! This is one of only three locations in the Houston area. This one in Conroe, one in the Galleria area, and one in Friendswood. This place is *AMAZING*! They have everything! They have fun, educational toys and activities. They have a huge selection of books for many differing ages. They have art and craft supplies. Everything in the store is segmented into the appropriate section so you can find what you are looking for easily; blocks, dramatic play, art, math, science, social studies etc. From a parent to a teacher buying one or two things to a director/manager trying to totally set up a school you can get it here. They have many of their "toys" out all over the store for a constant hands on experience for kids and adults alike. It makes for a much more pleasant shopping experience for everyone. Well, except when it's time to leave. Once a week, on Saturdays, they have a totally free art/craft project for kids from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. They're fun easy and quick and totally engaging. The schedule for what's being done when is on the website. I've been in this store 4 times now and spent at least an hour each time and I know I've only *seen* about 1/3 of what's actually stocked in this store. They may seem a bit expensive but what kind of price tag can you put on initiating and continuing a lifelong love of learning and exploring in a child? Staff is very open and friendly. Prices are a bit more than I would expect. Lots of cute and useful things for learning and decorating.

Awesome selection of "teaching tools". You could spend a few hours here. Everything you need for a classroom, homeschool, extra curricular supplements, games, books, STARR testing guides...Basically, the Mecca for pre-school, elementary school teachers and therapists. OK people kind of depend on you having regular business hours. Closing early for inventory is a bad idea. That way projects that were being done don't get to be finished in time to be used in the school. If there was any other choice besides Lake shore learning how would be using that from now on. read more

Anytime I need teaching supplies or even a little inspiration, this is my go-to place! They have a great selection throughout the store and I was able to make some awesome lesson plans for my Spanish class this summer. I also love that you can always find a good sale and use your store rewards card to save even more. I had a problem discovered a month after I made my purchase here - a problem of my own creation - and not only did they solve the problem (MY problem, not theirs), but they did so at their own expense and with a smile.
