After driving 40 minutes to shop for squishes with my son, we arrived at Learning Express. The selection was solid, we had picked out a couple of their more expensive squishies ($20) and were still looking when we touched a squishy to see how it felt (it said "try me" on the box). Immediately I was approached by an employee and told I needed to purchase the item ($24.99 strawberry squishy) because I had touched it. We continued to shop and upon checkout was forced to purchase the strawberry even though I disagreed. The majority of their toys are being touched by customers but I was singled out and made to purchase the additional item because we had touched one as well? Because my son and I aren't white like the rest of the employees and customers that were in the store? Terrible customer service! This is for the 4/4 debacle. I arrived and got in line around 5:55am. The line was disorganized, and bunched up all the way wrapped around the building. Up to 10 people were grouped up on the entire walkway while other civilized people lined up single or double file. At some point people started bum rushing their way to towards the store so a bunch of people cut and left lots of folding chairs behind. They allowed the people in front to buy 34 needohs each. For about an hour or more we saw big bags full after big bags full walking out and we knew they would run out. Not one time did we see any employee come out and walk the line to see how long it was. When one of the ladies near me went to ask the owner why they aren't limiting she was supposedly told that they tried but the people were saying why can't we buy 34 when the people in front did. When I went to cypress the IG post said 2 per style but the owner walked the line before the door store opened and let us know it was 2 total per person and everyone understood. It is your business you can change the policy at any time. Have a backbone. Instead of pleasing all of those scalpers you disappointed hundreds of people including kids who wokeup early on a Saturday. Eventually when the owner told everyone they were sold out she caught flack for it and cried and walked back into the store, locked the door and turned the lights off. Literally was crying. I've seen you respond to reviews saying this was your first shipment of needohs, we know that's BS just by looking at your IG posts. You also follow other learning express accounts on IG and can see the lines they had during drops. If you didn't then that's your failure as a business owner and just a lack of awareness on your part. Overall the Cypress location is the most organized out of the Houston area learning express stores. The town and country was pretty good too because they limited to 6 per person total. What a fantastic addition to the Woodlands! Sweet little store, with so many toys in stock, from squishies galore to Legos and crafting toys. They even let you put together a gift registry for birthdays, AND they wrap gifts for you! The staff is always kind and pleasant and ready to help. We need more locally owned stores like this! read more

They make social media posts about a massive restocking of needoh, then they allow 2 per style per person only they don't actually have a massive restocking as advertised. So in the end a couple hundred people in line miss out completely while 50 or so people in the front of the line walk out with huge bags of needohs. 17 different styles so I person in the front of the line gets 34 needohs. Then they wouldn't modify the limit even though it was screwing the rest of the line. Terrible. read more

I have a mixed experience. Came here for the first time and let my daughter explore to see what she wanted. She's a toddler so it takes her a while. Once she found something, we made our way to a register. An older woman, I'm assuming the owner waved us over to an open register. We put our stuff down. Mind you my daughter found a lollipop as well, so she was throwing a tantrum that we told her we have to pay for it first. Most people catch on when a child starts crying but the woman turned around to help another associate start wrapping something. Rude to help someone and then start another task while the customer is waiting. It honestly could have waited until she checked us out. After she decided she was done, she checked us out. By that point, my husband had to take my daughter outside so the whole store didn't have to hear her crying. She did not let us feel totally welcome so I would be skeptical to come back. They did however have a nice selection of things to choose from. read more

If you've got a precocious child this place is for you! Take him or her and let them look at all the fidget spinners, pops, and slimes. If kinetic activities isn't their thing let them see the books and toys that you can assemble such as Egypt's pyramids, sharks and spacecraft. And if your child is able to shop unattended, there are various shops nearby such as CVS and a liquor store. Yes. Liquor store! That's what I said. And in this way, everyone wins! read more
