Not much to add to what other reviewers have said, but our group of 4 was in agreement that it was a fun and unique experience. We had to wait about 20 minutes for seats to open up, but when they did the hostess/liquor store staffer let us in. We got seats at the bar - they are large, plush stools reminiscent of what I was used to in the 1970's. Creative selection of drinks or you can have them make something else that suits your fancy. Staff was welcoming, friendly, and efficient. Pricing is on the higher end but it's a small venue and the drinks are GOOD! Definitely a great stop for a drink and to hang out - the smaller crowd and setting make it easier to have a discussion. read more

We lucked out going straight here at 5p when we got into Omaha... There was a line outside the rest of the weekend basically! We did as we were told and asked about the $1000 bottle of wine, but the guy behind the desk just goes "Oh you're here for the bar" and let us back, haha. The cocktails list is extensive and just fun to read. I scored a tiki drink, because I wanted the show (fire!), but the bartender made a custom gin cocktail for my pal who was looking for something not sweet, but also not spicy. The fun of this spot is watching cocktail performances get delivered all night around you, but the drinks are good too. It was weird to leave out the side door at 7p with sun still pouring over the buildings after 2hrs in a dimly lit speakeasy, but as I said: we were lucky to get 2 whole hours there before the weekend crowds set in! Well, it's a cool experience. I recommend going in a group of 2 or 4, but never more than that. We waited an hour and a half for a group of 4. I had a single martini, I mentioned I loved mint chocolate and was told I'd be able to taste both. It unfortunately did not taste like chocolate at all and the mint was odd. Fun experience enter through what looks like a liquor store thru hidden door just like a speakeasy

I was just in town for a few short days and this place was recommended to me. What a cool and niche place! From the street this place isn't at all what it seems, it looks more like a fancy corner liquor store but when you enter you'll see people in the queue to get into the actual speakeasy. One of the liquor shelves is actually a door that opens up to get in but be prepared to wait to get in because the bar only fits so many people and so they let people in a few at a time. Once you're inside the actual speakeasy there are some seats up at the bar and some sitting areas towards the back. The cocktail menu is extensive although the drinks are a bit on the pricey side. I was lucky to be sitting next to one of the employees who wasn't working that day and she explained the menu to me and helped me find the perfect drink! This is a place definitely worth stopping in but not very good for big groups because of its size and nature. I would definitely come back here if I was visiting the area again! read more

What a gem! Saw this while searching for a place to wait on co-workers. After asking at the hotel next door where it was and being told it was through the little liquor store. Walked over and was shown "which" bottle to push on, I was in! Made my way to a comfortable bar stool and sat down. The bar keep was attentive and gave great recommendations. Had one drink and headed to meet my team for dinner. After dinner we were talking about getting a night cap. I told them about the WR and off we went. Had a bad service experience during my most recent visit. The bartender made fun of a patron to their face and then joked about it to another group (who appeared to be the bartender's friends). They had a lot of tiki type drinks which is odd but I guess it's because the owner runs the tiki bar down the street as well. Staff wasn't really knowledgeable on the cocktails when asked. read more

So I'm still here right now. And I heard good things and want to like this place. And it's rare for me to post something so negative because I come from a service background. But simply said here are my notes 1) I walked in and was greeted, which is important. But then thought I put my invisible suit on. 2) she was a nice bartender but got my order wrong and I caught it literally while she was pouring. I'm ok, not a huge deal, mistakes happen and I offered to just not bother. No ding on that but makes me see the attention to detail. 3) Here's when I felt it was enough. The patron next to me was clearly a friend of the other bartender so she was getting most of the attention.... Ok. Again take note. Suddenly in their conversation the patron starts dropping the F bomb every third word and slamming the bar top in their conversation of the local bar worker scene. Blowing out my eardrum etc. if I want that I'd go to a family reunion of a bunch a drunks spending the day together in the sun til they should be sent home. Now it's gets even more a wtf? The bartender that poured my 1st drink wrong asked about my next. To which I gave a last hurrah try and placed it, she pulled the bottle then walked away. Now I'm stuck in this awkward moment because I'd like another but at the very least need to pay. 10 minutes later the other bartender(the original that blew me off) asks if I'd like another while bartender 2 who pulled the bottle is now scanning her phone. I'm so lost and just want my drink so I can wrap up the night and she then again walks away. Bottom line, I wanted to like this place and gave it several chances within an evening. I may give it one more chance when I return, but this time I left feeling like I was shunned right up to the moment to pay my bill, that was the fastest service of my experience.. go figure. In order to enter this speakeasy, you must tell the clerk the secret passphrase, then locate the hidden lever and pull! (I have uploaded some pictures & videos to help you guys out!) You will realize that the liquor bar cabinet is actually a secret entrance to the bar! If you think getting into the Wicked Rabbit is fun, wait until your drinks arrive! This place is like Narnia, a fantasy world filled with magical cocktails! Staff was helpful and friendly! We didn't know what to order, so we told our server to bring us something instagramable! Definitely should have read a few reviews before trying to find this place! What appeared to be an unassuming small liquor store opens up into a quaint, dimly lit bar and lounge. Our wait on a Saturday night was about 30 minutes, which I didn't mind at all. You can buy anything in the fridge to drink while you wait. Once seated, we were presented with a well-thought out menu with some classics and specialty drinks. I ordered a couple of drinks outside of my norm and was delighted by how delicious they were! Whenever I travel, I try to find speakeasies in the cities where I'm staying. The more creative and/or hard to find, the better the speakeasy. The Wicked Rabbit is one of the best speakeasies I've been to. 10/10 for both creativity and quality. The bar is hidden inside an unassuming liquor store. The store clerk is the gatekeeper. Tell him what you're looking for, and if you say the right thing, he will grab a certain bottle, allowing the wall to swing open to allow passage into the bar. The Wicked Rabbit only seats 40 people, so do your best to get there early or be prepared to wait. Love going to the wicked rabbit for a drink before or after dinner. Such a fun atmosphere to enjoy a drink or two with friends. The wicked rabbit is dark, which I enjoy. Arrived at 5:07pm (they opened at 5pm). People were hanging out in Looking Glass, and at one point 14 of its were hanging out waiting to be permitted to enter Wicked Rabbit. I understand that sometimes you have to wait for special things like speakeasies. I also understand that sometimes things take time. But what I don't understand is why the door man gave no information about the fact that we were going to end up standing around for potentially 25 minutes, waiting to go in, and saying nothing to anyone about the entire situation. He did have all of the Hipster vibe that is necessary for a speak easy doorman, but he had none of the crouth or decency. Then, once we finally got in about 25 minutes after arriving, the music was entirely too Taylor Swifty and too freaking loud for a place with this kind of amazing energy and vibe. The drinks were good, the drinks are always good. But you expect good drinks in a place like this. The other intangibles that you're looking for were clearly not present on this visit, and it was disappointing after so many very good visits to have my entire family here and have them experience something less than phenomenal. When you set the bar High, people expect you to meet a high standard. If you don't set a high bar, then you can be sloppy just like this was. But they're not sloppy usually. Gahhh I love everything about Wicked Rabbit. I happen to be a huge fan of Alice in Wonderland, speakeasies... and booze. Lewis Carroll himself would have approved of entering Wicked Rabbit "through The Looking Glass". Once through, you enter a dark and intimate space of ornate decor, velvet curtains, dark purple accents, and subtle Wonderland-esque references. There are refined details from the decor to the drink garnishes to the server's mustache. As for drinks, I tried a few, like the Clover Club and Negroni. Each cocktail was served in pretty crystal glasses with fresh and fun garnishes. The taste was just as lovely as the presentation. The drinks were interesting yet approachable and balanced in sweetness and bitterness. What an Omaha treasure. Come here for some classy cocktails but don't step on the mome raths! read more

It will be fraught with the uncertainty that comes from wanting help, not wanting to look like you want help, and knowing that even if you ask for help you might not understand the help you get. It might not even have the straightforward flavor you're looking for. But if you push through, let yourself fall into the rabbit hole with eyes and mind open to adventure, come what may, then you'll soon believe in magic. Because magic is what's mixed here. One thing you'll want to know before coming here is the Wicked Rabbit is more of an experience than it is a bar. Personally speaking, there are some crucial things that doesn't make this a perfect bar. That said, this is definitely a place to try at least once. Atmosphere: Let's start off by saying, holy excrement, holy crap and, eff it, holy sh**!!! The atmosphere in this place is beyond incredible! If you're a fan of Alice in Wonderland, this is a modern bar version of it. Love the entrance since it begins as a speakeasy. Looks like a traditional liquor store, but beyond the shelving is another realm of alcohol! It's truly as if you fell into the world of Wonderland... if Wonderland consisted of booze. That's just fine with me honestly. So many things to see and so many photo opportunities. So yes, this is an Instagram-zone. When you have even amusing menus, you're doing something right. Be ready for a wait on the weekend though, this should be fairly obvious. Drinks: So while I am enamored by the visuals of the bar, I am also stunned by the presentation of the drinks. They truly make cocktails into art and place a decent amount of alcohol. Their use of eggwhite into their drinks sound odd, but it's really done for visual impact. They certainly succeed by being able to have images in the froth. They even have pyro drinks! That's always fun! Now, while the drinks are fun and are certainly Insta-candy, in regards to taste, they are just ok. Go into this with the idea that the drinks are made explicitly for your entertainment. Consumption comes secondary I'm afraid. Don't get me wrong, they aren't the worst drinks ever made, but you can totally tell the drinks are made more for visual impact. I don't regret my purchases, but I was a little disappointed in the overall taste. Staff: The bartenders are amazing and work damn hard! No joke, I tipped my bartender and another one that was running literally everywhere! It's a packed house, so this one bartender was hustling to make sure the guests had a pleasant experience. Kudos to that amazing lady! They will make suggestions if you feel overwhelmed by the expansive menu. That's great, but I think it's better to do a little drink-watching and ask what a drink is. Trust me, you won't regret it! Price: This probably shouldn't come as a surprise, but this place is a little pricey. You're truly paying for an experience. That said, I've had way more expensive drinks, especially in Las Vegas. Drinks average $13-18. If you're pinching pennies, this isn't the place for you. Overall: I think a four-star rating is justified. With a beautiful bar, amazing-looking drinks and a kickass staff, this is worth visiting at least once. I love taking out-of-town visitors to this place. Nobody expects something so cool even if they know real Omaha. We stopped into the outer bar and enjoyed a little shot of Jameson and Cointreau. Just when my buddy was about to be underwhelmed with the place, the door opened into the speakeasy area. His eyes widened and his jaw dropped. Perfect reaction!
