We went with our friends for the first time last week and were pleasantly surprised about practically everything. The ambiance is very cool, the staff and patrons were amazingly friendly, and the food was so delicious that it totally blew us away. This is a very specific bar. Everyone is always really nice but you're not gonna get like cocktails or anything. It's definitely a dive bar and a motorcycle bar. They used to have a psychic which was my favorite part, but I don't think she goes there anymore. read more

Such a dive, but I enjoy a place that commits to their theme. If you couldn't figure it out, this place is witch themed and everything from the decor to the menu has a hint of witch in it. If it wasn't for my father I probably would have never checked this place out. You can read that as I have drove past this place on numerous occasions and never even noticed it. In fact, I almost caused an accident when I did a last minute turn as to not miss this place. The only downside, and this is the only one that I think most will notice, is the parking. There is virtually none. They have a small dirt lot off to the side of the building and there is no street parking near here. But if you are a biker, there is more than enough spots for your, as out front of this place is for bikers to park. Once we did park and proceeded to enter the joint, we were a little confused. There is a side door just off the small dirt parking lot, but a note tells you to use the front door. Reading it, we did as we were suggested to do and walked to the front. Once out front you have two doors to choose from. In actuality, it doesn't matter which door you use as they virtually take to the same point. Inside, it's dim, I mean really dim, even with the sun out it's as if you were sitting here during twilight. You know how I said it was a dive. It truly is, but I totally appreciate dive bars as you seem to get the best service in these establishments. We were greeted warmly by the bartender from behind the bar and with a shout were informed that we can sit wherever we desired. Within seconds the bartender came over to ask if we wanted anything to drink and brought us menus. The menus were quite fun to read over. Sticking to the theme items were named accordingly. Fondue (yes, a dive bar has fondue) was named 'The Cauldron.' Loaded fries were named 'Broomhilda Fries.' And every item that was a sandwich, was rechristened a 'sand-witch.' Everything on the menu sounded so good, but both my father and I opted for the Hot Turkey Sand-Witch; him with mashed potatoes, me with fresh cut fries. For a majority of the time our meal was prepared the door to the kitchen was open, so we were treated to a bit of a show. The turkey itself was actually pulled off the turkey breast, not presliced meat that was heated up. And the fries were definitely hand cut, after they got out of the fryer they were freshly seasoned, with what, I'm not sure, but was it good, heck yeah! The gravy they used was on point as well, some may claim it to be too salty, but I liked it, and there was just the right amount of garlic mixed in as well. While enjoying my meal, I also scoped out the place. While looking around I noticed that throughout the week they have specials. Keeping with the theme they bring in entertainment type of acts. One night you may have a tarot card reader and on another night they may have a blues band with a witchy name. Drink specials seem to be standard. When we were finished, we paid, and exited out the door that directed us elsewhere earlier (but only after observing the regulars do the same). read more

what happened to the baked beans ? I love baked beans. I make about 4 or 5 different kinds. your beans used to be my fav. Better than mine. Then I got them at the blues n roots fest over the weekend. I ate them both days hoping the first day was just a mistake (by my taste buds), There was something sprinkled on top, not good. I have been eating at your truck as long as you were coming to the Shriners, eating my standard pulled pork and baked beans. Found this place searching the net for "biker bars" and the Witches did not disappoint. Keeping this in mind for the review is important... I'm rolling with three stars only because we went early and the weather was crappy so the full experience just didn't happen. Off the top the place is small with basically the bar and a few tables, there might be more but we didn't see or look for it. They have a Saturday "ride" that starts at 6:00 pm which hits a few local bars ending back at the Witches with some grub laid out for consumption which goes well with more beer and drinks. Be advised that this is not a Bermuda Shorts black socks and sandals kind of place nor is it minor friendly so leave the kiddies at home if your heading over for some really good BBQ provided by "Wicked Ribs N'At". They also have a full menu cranking out handhelds, plates, and the ever popular fish sandwich... It is a smoking friendly bar even though they serve food so don't be surprised. A special nod to Wicked Ribs N'At... so far this is the best and most flavorful Q we've experienced in this area during our extended visit. All in all it's a good stop if you're out on a run or looking to hang for a few hours sipping beer and watching the river from the front deck. NO COLORS NO ATTITUDES read more

Hooray for a gourmet dive biker bar! One visit, here's what I know: The menu (a sheet of printer paper slid into a plastic sleeve, printed front and back) is unexpected, packed with options and includes all of the typical bar favorites. AND a breaded, broiled, olive oil, lemon artichoke heart dish that would be comfortable with white linen. So good. Previous reviewer mentioned turkey being carved, not pre-packed. Not surprised, as chef (chef? Yes, I think so) shared that WWDVH bakes their own bread - not even white haired grandmothers bake bread anymore. Friends got a pizza - declared it awesome. Chicken wings are whole and uniquely coated, crisp, moderately spiced and a little sweet. Hubs had the fish sandwich, loved it. Also, the hand-cut fries were better than the locally revered potato-patch variety! The bar is shot/beer. Seemed sort of limited. Mixed cocktails, not encouraged. Ok? This is a biker bar, friendly & relaxed - bartender/server was casual and happy. The BBQ rib offering which, apparently, is THE menu item... gone by noon, Sunday and there is a waiting list that starts Friday evening. Interesting? I think so! Also, nestled in the menu is a broccoli entrée that keeps looping in the back of my mind. A broccoli entrée in a biker dive bar - just messes with you a little - less once you've tried the artichoke hearts, though. Just re-read my review, above. I have been frequenting the Witches for a long time. The food is great and the people are down to earth. I am a non drinker and no one cares if you drink or not. All good people and great times and storys. The wings are the very best but be sure the try the beef. You will return if you visit. read more

I was troubled to come into a biker bar, but the sign outside said Barbecue would be ready at 3pm. I could see the smokers were going and figured I would stop in to get an order, even if it's not exactly a friendly looking place. I got Brisket sandwiches and Smoke Half Chicken to go, and really loved it. I found myself calling to see when they would have the smokers going, and stop in for a beer while I waited on my food. It all sounds nice, till I head down the place was filled for a Steeler game. When I walk into the place in my sandles and Ninja Turtle t-shirt, someone yells "Nigger". The whole place turned icy as I tried to make my way to the full bar. The bartender saw me and tried to get my order together, but I felt like I didn't belong. That was the point of yelling that names, and that person was at the table of the owners who was there, so this shows me who he wants in this place. It's sad because I thought this place was a diamond in the rough and maybe a different kind of vibe of bikers. I see now I was kidding myself, and outsiders or new patrons are not welcome in this place. read more
