Most restaurants seem to use premade ingredients, which is insane cause Mexican food cooked fresh is usually not that hard or expensive. Not with buenatarde, everything we ordered was made in house. The refried beans and rice tasted almost as good as my grandmothers use to cook. Not quite, but close! The carnitas tasted really good, the only issue we had was it was a tad dry. Not sure if it was overcooked, but it did taste good. Otherwise, everything else was great and we will be returning to try the brunch on a weekend.

We talked with one of the owners, Max, and we chatted about all the work it took to revamp a space that had been vacant for years. Max was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about hookah and wants to turn his space in a community third space with lots of events. Not only was the owner and staff AMAZING but the food was out of this world. We ended up ordering just about everything to try and nothing disappointed. I felt like I wasn't in Pittsburgh for an evening. The decoration was and vibe is so cool. I went to celebrate my friend's birthday and Palm Palm did not disappoint. I'm very impressed by the service and very pleased with the food,m. We had Oysters, fries, caramelized oranges, bread & jam. It was all so good! I can't even pick a favorite. I also want to thank them for arranging a fun large candle with our desserts as a surprise even though it was such a short notice. I highly recommend this place! Will definitely be going back.
