Made my first visit to The Village TapHouse on a Wednesday evening this past August. I love any kind of Bingo, and I saw on Facebook they were holding their monthly Bar Bingo on this night. So, I made my way on over. The Village TapHouse is located in the South Hills Village Mall area, but a little up the road from the actual mall. It is tucked away in the rear of the building located on the corner of Washington Road and North Highland Road. The business that is visible from the main intersection is Clubhouse Cards. If you follow North Highland past this entrance off of Washington, The Village TapHouse will be on your right. There is some limited parking right in front of the entrance. However, since there are a lot of other businesses around here, you can find other parking across the street or before the actual entrance, regardless of which direction. I had no issue getting a spot right across the street, and making the short walk over. I arrived that evening around 7:00 PM, as that is when the Bingo was slated to start. There were a good amount of people attending the event, as the indoor main dining area was pretty much full when I arrived! No issue for me though, as I was by myself. So, I found a seat at the bar. There were several other patrons sitting at the bar, but it was not shoulder-to-shoulder or anything like that. There is also some patio seating, but I do not believe the Bingo was heard out in that area. Once situated, I went up to buy my Bingo cards from the two hosts. They were set up in the main dining room, but were using microphones. I had no issue hearing them all night long from the bar. It was $10 for a pack of 3 cards, and I purchased 2 packs. They also had daubers for sale, but I brought my own to use. I waited around for the games to start once I bought my cards, which ended up being around 7:30 PM. It was also Pajama-themed Bingo, which I was unaware of until I arrived. This allowed you for a special perk for one of the games. I am not sure if they always do this, but I would advise participating in whatever theme is advertised to get the most out of your experience. There were a few bartenders serving this evening. The lady who waited on me was prompt and friendly the whole night. I started off with a pint of FireWistle Red. It was a solid red beer, and served as a nice sipper for my evening. As the Bingo went on, I decided to put in a food order. I ordered a Half Dozen Wings in the Chicken and Waffles Wet Rub. I thought this was a unique flavor, so I wanted to give it a try. I enjoyed the taste of these! They were split wings, but overall the size was serviceable. The plate also had several pieces of celery and ranch dressing to accompany the wings. The food here was fairly priced. For my 6 wings and beer pint, the total was around $15. It seemed from the menu that the majority of entrees were $15 or under, which I believe is a great deal. Overall, no complaints in terms of prices or value. I ended up staying here for nearly three hours in order to finish the Bingo games. So, I had plenty of time to take in the atmosphere. I enjoyed the people, staff, and the overall vibe of the place. The patrons were friendly, and the staff seem to recognize their regulars while having meaningful conversation. Plus, the Bingo games brought some fun and entertainment to the night overall. This first visit of mine to The Village TapHouse was a positive one. Very much enjoyed the people, atmosphere, food, and fun Bingo activities. I cannot believe with how close I live to here that it took me this long to give it a try. Now I am happy to know there is a spot like this practically in my backyard. I have seen on Facebook that they also have Trivia Nights, so that is something I want to check out in the future. Even though I did not win Bingo this time, it will not stop me from coming back and trying again. I would recommend stopping here for a meal, or a fun night of entertainment, if you find yourself in the South Hills Village area of town. read more

The food is good here from everything I have tried. The usual bartender on the weekends is very friendly and kind. The place is usually empty, not sure why because food is great and there is a nice ambiance with lots of light. read more

We live in St. Clair and this has quickly become one of our go-to's when we're fighting over where to go. The wings and smash burgers are killer (it's the only one my 5 yo will eat) and the loaded fries are great, too. In fact, we've had the wraps, apps and salads and honestly, you can't go wrong. The wings and Nachos and fried pickles were very good. However the Bloody Marys were the worse ever- no celery, olives or horse radish even though my girls asked for both. Very light on the Stoli poor to boot. I would've been ashamed if I was the bartender to serve that drink. Awesome place! We stopped in between hockey games and am so glad we did! Great beer selection Plenty of TVs They run a wing special during the Steelers game Kids and Hubby liked the wings. I had heard good things about Village Taphouse so I wanted to give them a chance. It got plenty of seating and the bar is huge. I love the remodel from when it used to be the Mexican Restaurant. It gives it a welcoming open feel. We sat at the bar and ordered a drink and our food. I got the Mushroom Swiss Burger and it was sooooo good. I didn't do the bun and I'm glad I didn't. It tasted sooooo good without it. The fries were straight fire. I love crispy fries and these were done right. My boyfriend got the Blackened Chicken Sandwhich on a Gluten Free Bun and he raved about how good it was. The bar tender was really friendly and service was fast and very efficient. Today was my first time here, and I was treated to a Father's Day dinner, and I really enjoyed my burger and fries. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food also. There was one small mixup on one of the burgers (wrong kind of cheese), but that person said they still enjoyed the burger. We also enjoyed playing the shuffleboard. If you aren't a regular, don't bother sitting at the bar because you probably won't get waited on unless one of the servers walk by. The bartender is super miserable and is completely bothered by pretty much everything. Other than that,, the food was fantastic and the servers that got our drinks and food for us at the bar were amazing !! I would definitely go back because of the food and the atmosphere, but definitely wouldn't sit at the bar if the same bartender was working. read more

we went at 4 PM for happy hour. The place was not too busy on a Friday. I ordered the Bavarian pretzels app. They were wonderful, five big fat, soft warm sticks with dipping mustard that reminded me of Herlockers. Definitely shareable. I had the mushroom Smashburger. We love coming to the Village Taphouse! The food is always yummy and a good quick casual bite. We also love coming to their trivia and bingo nights as they like to host fun events throughout the month. Friendly staff and for sure a place to check out in the South Hills! read more

This is a great place to watch a game. There are plenty of TVs and a full bar. Menu is burgers, wings, sandwiches, chicken tenders, etc. It's currently seat yourself. Most seating was high-top tables with backless stools or along high-top booth seating on one side of the table. There were 7 or 8 standard-height booths. I was happy to snag the last open booth as sitting at high-top seats is very uncomfortable for me- especially backless stools! Very open area, though, with a few electric dart boards and a couple electronic games. Service was friendly and quick and we were checked on several times. My husband and I each had a different smash burger. The burgers were very good as were the fries. I definitely recommend for a quick, no-frills dinner. There was a note on the menu that it is currently abbreviated until they are fully trained and staffed so there may be new food additions in the future. They do pass along a credit card fee, so cash is king here. Parking lot is a bit small which has been a con of every restaurant in this spot. Beware of parking across the street in the shopping center lot unless the restaurant has made arrangements otherwise. The center has been known to tow cars in the past if you are crossing to the restaurant!! read more

Called ahead on a Friday night to see if they could accommodate 16. They said they can make it work. We showed up with about 10 adults, 6 kids. While the place isn't kid friendly, they're kid tolerant. I would call this a bar that serves food, not a restaurant. No kids menu, but there are burgers/chicken tenders/pretzel sticks on the menu. No high chairs, but we were fortunate enough to get a booth. All that said, this was a great experience for our group. Lidia was an amazing waitress and was extremely attentive and helpful. The food was quick and delicious. Highly recommend the Chicken & Waffles wings if you're into that flavor. Good vibes, good music, only downer was our kids there. We won't be coming back with the kids (even though they'd let us), but can't wait to come back with just our adult group. read more

Cool vibe but as far as a tap house...meh. Not much on the tap menu in terms of uniqueness and variety.

Great place for a quick drink, to meet up with friends with great atmosphere. Bar Bingo is fun! Food has been delicious. Their smash burger is absolutely AMAZING. I do have to agree with the one review where the guy said a particular bartender takes care of friends first. I have experienced that and was not happy about how long i sat there just waiting for a menu. Finally, I had to flag down another bartender who was serving for a menu, and then flag down the bartender 15 minutes later to take my order. The rest of them have always been very attentive, entertaining, friendly and fun. Even when busy there was always a seat available. read more

Stopped here for dinner, looking for some good beer and food. Food was great bar fare. We had the cheese balls appetizer, and I had the Taphouse smash burger. Food was fantastic! The cheese balls app is a must have. Beer selection doesn't live up to the "taphouse" name, but they are new. I'll def be back. read more
