The food is good here from everything I have tried. The usual bartender on the weekends is very friendly and kind. The place is usually empty, not sure why because food is great and there is a nice ambiance with lots of light.

I had heard good things about Village Taphouse so I wanted to give them a chance. It got plenty of seating and the bar is huge. I love the remodel from when it used to be the Mexican Restaurant. It gives it a welcoming open feel. We sat at the bar and ordered a drink and our food. I got the Mushroom Swiss Burger and it was sooooo good. I didn't do the bun and I'm glad I didn't. It tasted sooooo good without it. The fries were straight fire. I love crispy fries and these were done right. My boyfriend got the Blackened Chicken Sandwhich on a Gluten Free Bun and he raved about how good it was. The bar tender was really friendly and service was fast and very efficient. I will definitely be back!

Today was my first time here, and I was treated to a Father's Day dinner, and I really enjoyed my burger and fries. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food also. There was one small mixup on one of the burgers (wrong kind of cheese), but that person said they still enjoyed the burger. We also enjoyed playing the shuffleboard. I would like to come back again some time . . . Cheers!

Solid buffalo chicken wrap. Good selection of apps, wings, burgers and sandwiches. Will go back to try more!

wet hot garlic wings to go. No sauce, garlic. Wouldn't bother. Not the first time to be dissatisfied here. Just don't.

Wet, hot garlic wings to go. Dry as hell. No sauce what so ever. Not hot, no garlic. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Not the first time there. Not worth it. I will add, hospitality, and people are ok. Food...meh

The zucchini planks were the star of the show with the spinach artichoke dip the runner up. The Marinara sauce on the crispy zucchini hit the spot. The artichoke dip with a hearty portion with plenty of crispy pitas. The crispiness of the pita made eating the dip that much more enjoyable. The chicken quesadillas were loaded with chicken but the tortilla was soft. Had it been crisp, it very well could have been the star of the show. Pens won in dominating fashion and the Bucos handled their business also. The saloon is a laid back sports bar to kick back with friends or family. Thanks for a rare opportunity to enjoy a beer and meal with my sister and dad! I recommend the Saloon to anyone looking for a good time and a beer while taking in a game or two.

They do not take reservations and we joked about there being a line. Well, when we showed up 10 minutes before opening, there was indeed a line. However, we went on Valentine's Day to one of the only GF places in the city, so that was to be expected. They were able to accommodate our party of seven no problem, and the staff were so friendly. Our server was amazing. One of our party members is hard to please, but our waiter was on top of it! We ordered a variety of apps for the table - wings, brussel sprouts, and fried provolone. All tasted fantastic. My husband and I agreed we would come just for the wings alone. Perfect smokey flavor. We got the hot buffalo garlic and they weren't super spicy. The marinara with the fried provolone was creamy and delicious. The Brussels were your standard side that every place has with the balsamic glaze. Not mushy at all and the garlic aioli was the best touch. We saw the food coming out and had to make room... the portions are huge! I could only finish half my burger and took the rest home. It was juicy, full of flavor, and easy to handle. Sometimes when you get a massive burger it ends up so sloppy and the toppings just slide off. Not with this! Perfectly stacked and ready to be devoured. The fries were a little greasy but still crispy. They earned my crisp seal of approval! The drinks were strong and everybody loved them. I got the blushing lady and it was sweet but not overly sweet and I could actually taste the spirits. Fantastic bar food options for people who are GF. We visited for the first time because someone in our group was GF and we would definitely go back!

They're located in Dormont, which makes this a walkable brewery for me (thanks to having friends and family in the area!). A friend and I did indeed walk over to catch up on a recent Friday. The place was surprisingly quiet - my friend mentioned that they get VERY busy during the summer, when people attend events across the road and want to buy beer to go with their market and/or food truck purchases. Speaking of food trucks, Hibachi Lou was parked out front on this particular Friday. So my friend and I got our hibachi orders at the truck out front; ordered our beer and/or cider from the bar; and took everything to a table in Back Alley's dining area to enjoy. While the place wasn't packed it wasn't empty, either; families and groups of friends were playing board games at every other table or so. So, what did I think about the drinks? I'm really glad Back Alley had Arsenal Cider on tap - I ordered a glass as my "sweet treat"/dessert after dinner. First though, I decided to try a beer. Back Alley, if you see this: I'm a BIG fan of sour beers and would order those if they're on the menu in the future! As of now though, no sour beers, so I ordered a "Snowed In" - Back Alley's spiced winter ale. It was a dark beer with a blend of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, ginger, hence the "spiced" moniker. While not something I normally seek out, I really enjoyed it and am glad I tried it! Altogether, it was a 10/10 experience - I'm so glad my friend and I came here for our Friday together. I'll be back!

Its a decent serving size for an appetizer. I enjoyed it. The nachos were surprisingly tasty. When they came out I was unsure about them because any other time I've ever ordered a loaded type nacho they're, how do I explain it, more colorful I guess. Usually its like bacon and American cheese, guac, pico, etc., but these were just shades of white and green. I wish I could've finished them but the portion was quite a bit for 1 person. My only gripe would be the chicken. It reminded me of the meat you get in a launchable. I think I would rather prefer a crispy diced chicken. But that's just me. The other 2 didn't have any complaints about the Rival Stix or the burger. The Chicken Tenders were said to not have much flavor in the breading. The person who ordered them didn't care for the breading. I was also tempted into some sort of creme brulee donut I think. It was really good but I was already so stuffed from the nachos that I couldn't finish it. Its for the sweet tooth folks. The general space is all sports themed as expected. Quite spacious. The burger was juicy and the Rival Sauce was some kind of aioli that added some zip to it. The fries were crispy but not overcooked. The Great White Hype pizza was basic. Nothing outstanding, but not bad either. I have been to this location three times and I would say the food has been hit-or-miss. Service has also been spotty. During lunch (my first trip), our waitress was very attentive, drinks were consistently refilled, and our food came out promptly. The second time, I had to flag down our waitress quite several times to get anything. Nothing to complain about when it comes to the prices.
