At first, things seemed to go very well in my dealings with Wieronski Plumbing. I needed a new hot water heater, a standard install for just about any plumbing company. I thought that the plumber did a good job on this. However, shortly after the install, I started to have some serious problems with the unit that was installed. The plumber did return and offer advice, but the problems persisted. Over the period of several months, I continued to have issues that were not resolved: no pilot light on occasion and a persistent error code that kept flashing. As a result of these problems, I called the Wieronski office multiple times. A courteous assistant always promised that they 'were looking into my problems' and that they would get back to me soon. On not a single occasion did anyone from the company ever call to let me know what they were going to do. After the complete lack of response from anyone at the company, I felt that they just wanted me to go away. Walter Wieronski, the owner of this business, makes the claim that 'we support our customers'. When I had trouble, they let me down by completely ignoring me. At least for me, this is the real meaning of the claim that Wieronski Plumbing is going to 'support their customers'. Dealing with this company caused me a lot of un-necessary stress. My advice would be to avoid the company; they are glad to take your money but will not provide support in times of distress. There are far better plumbing companies to choose from. In fact, a plumber from a different company solved my problems during a one-hour visit. read more

Long time local and extremely disappointed with what this company is doing. I needed a fully accessible external water pipe capped with a spigot. Simple job. Also had slight calcium buildup on hot water out from water heater. They quoted $1k each for these jobs. I put the spigot on with a SharkBite. And I drained and cleaned the outlet with vinegar. I will no longer use this company and am telling everyone I know to do the same. read more

Had a plumber come out to look at a toilet - the plumber spent most of the time trying to work around the real issue. After a few hours nothing had been fixed and was probably in a worse state than when they got there. Would not recommend this company because they did not appear reliable or professional, and charge by the hour which incentivizes not fixing the issue. read more

I was scheduled for an appointment from 9am to 9:30 am today. No one showed so I called the office at 10 am and left a message asking when they would arrive. I then called at 10:30 am and the receptionist answered and said there was a water main break and the technician was not available. She said she would find out if another technician could come. I don't feel the urge to ever write negative reviews, but I felt it necessary so that others don't have the same troubles I did. I had a technician come out to troubleshoot and fix an issue with a room not heating in my home. After 2-3 visits, I was not made aware if the problem was fixed or not. It took calling the company 4-5 times to have some type of update. Then, I noticed that my credit card was charged. No invoice, no communication. I again called and called to try to get some answers. After connecting with the owner, he provided an invoice of the technicians work. The issue, however, was that it did not match the days/times/service that I had in my text messages from the technician himself. No response after replying back to the owner about this concern. I'm happy to pay a fair price for work done by our local community businesses, but this experience will have me looking for other companies in the future! read more

Totally scammed!! I should have followed the bad reviews - but we were desperate & Wieronski was recommended by our Property Manager - so we thought we were good. Not the case!! We got taken advantage of big time!! They increased the pricing & couldn't explain why, lots of double talk & excuses & they took forever to get back to us. DAY 1: Was told that the service person would be at our home late morning (so I guessed 10:00 - 11:00). At 1:00 pm - I called to get an ETA & the person that answered the phone said she would call me back with an ETA (there was only 1 job ahead of us that day). I never received a call - so I called again & Wieronski employee said she called me - that my voicemail must not be working (it was). Service person didn't show up until 3:20. Then said he needed to go buy a part 12 minutes away. Got back around 3:40 & sat in his car for around 30 minutes. Was told when I first called the pricing was: $79.000 for the service call & $179.00 per hour plus parts. Before he would do any work - he made us sign an estimate. It was a big, bundled price ($585.00). I then asked him to explain the costs & line it for me & seemed agitated & he stumbled around to explain the very large bill ($585.00) & he really couldn't. It was an attitude of this is the price - take it or leave it or I won't help. We felt forced to sign. Then he spend 3 minutes trying to install the part & he. said we. needed - then says the part he bought is the wrong part. He will need to order another part & he's not sure when it will be in. DAY 2 - Get a call from Wieronski service person saying the part will be in the next morning. He will be over first thing in the morning to install it. Day 3 - Next morning - no sign of the service person. So, I call at 11:00 am - Wieronski employee answering the phone says the part won't be in until 12:00. So, I ask - what time do you think you can get here to install it? Wieronski employee - Not sure, I can't give you a time. While I'm talking to her I ask about the pricing. Me - so you told me upfront it's &79.00 for a service call & $179.00 per hour - service person wants to charge us more. Wieronski employee - oh every job is different - sometimes we charge hourly & sometimes we don't. Me - how do determine then what to charge to who? Wieronski employee - well that's up to the service person. I asked the service person & the gal answering the phone how much our part was - neither could answer me. I tell person answering the phone at 1:00 pm that we have a guest checking in - so we can't accept any. service calls after that. Lots of double talk & upping the price - & they can't explain it - not to mention we spent 3 days trying to get this resolved. Get a call at 5:40 pm on day 3 - Service person says - no one is answering at your door. Well no - we told the person answering your phone earlier today At 1:00 pm - we had a guest checking into today at 4:00 & that we can't accept service after that time. Now he wants to come back next week & wants to charge us at the very minimum &$1,200. I ask why the increase in price? He says he put 5 hours into service? He hasn't even done anything yet! really!! Never Again! I have learned my lesson - follow the reviews & don't use Wieronski! read more

Hopefully you are looking at their reviews before you start, get a quote first or try someone else. Was able to complete an emergency water shut off valve, but the cost was like going to a get an oil change and paying $500 for it. What made it worse, the guy said, " things are expensive up here". These guys should be featured on one of those "Dateline" episodes about plumbers ripping off consumers. $59 service call fee only to be quoted $1000 dollars to replace a controller unit on one of my two 50 gallon water heaters. Option 2 was to charge me nearly $500 to drain and offline the heater with the faulty controller unit. Option 3 was to replace the bad water heater (4 years old, mind you) at a cost of nearly $2k. I found a local electrician who swapped out the bad controller unit for $260 (parts and labor). Heater works just fine now. Caveat emptor when it comes to Wieronski aka ...."we're on your money". read more

The pipes in our house froze and burst, I called every plumbing company in Summit County, Wieronski was the only one that was able to come out to repair the damage that day. I believe appoints were canceled in order to fit the emergency into their schedule. Jerome and Michael did a great job, they did not waste time, and were extremely professional. As others commented I believe the price was high, but when you have one option to get the job done the price is the price. They came through when all other plumbers said no. read more

I was charged a whooping $521 for troubleshooting a gas leak and a furnace firing problem. I was advised to replace the furnace and both water heaters because the gas valves were faulty. I went ahead and order two new valves at $125 each plus the labor to install them by a different plumbing company. So instead of spending $1900 on a water heater plus labor that I was quoted by this company, I ended up spending around $600 to fix both water heater by someone else. Watch out with this company's pricing, the will charge you a service fee, plus travel time and $159 an hour. There are other plumbers in the area that will charge you much less. and by the way they never call me back to follow up about my water heaters. read more

Our toilet's tank was leaking resulting in us wasting a lot of water. Wieronski came out to fix it (failed). They came out a second time to try to fix it again and told me it would cost $400 in addition to the $300 for the first trip. I asked how much for a brand new toilet and the quoted me $800. A brand new toilet cost $150 at Lowe's. I told them to forget it and installed the new one myself. Don't waste your time with these guys. Their prices are comical. read more

Needed my water heater replaced. Wieronski quoted me $2000, which I felt was crazy-high (this number does not include a heater!). I asked how they arrived at that number and he said "cause it's gonna take two guys and it's gonna take all day." Silence. I declined. Found a different local plumber that installed it in for $400. Wieronski, if you're reading this, besides just your bogus quote, it was how rude you were on the phone with me that really made me write you guys off. read more

Despite the reputation of seriously overcharging for services, I selected Wieronski as I did not know of another heating/mechanical contractor in Summit County. I figured these guys were big and established and wouldn't send anyone out without seriously checking their capabilities. During the service call, the tech seemed to drag out the time on the job. Talking and talking and slowing down with each sentence. Time is money, and I was charged the fixed-fee service call rate, plus an hourly rate. It was very high - but I was expecting this. My biggest complaint is that during the service call an item was identified as serviceable, and another serious item was not even discovered (it caused the first failure). Absolutely no attempt was made to investigate any further. I was simply told that if the tech 'looked' at the serviceable item, there was a flat-rate fee associated that would add hundreds to the bill (even if no additional time on site was required). After the tech left, it was a matter of 3 minutes to fix the serviceable item, and another 4 minutes to fix the serious issue that the tech never even found. For the prices charged, I expect more from a company. read more

We were having a problem with one of the heater valves on our heater. The guy came out and said that the whole furnace was shot, 6 of the valves were gone, the tank was ruined and it would be $6000 to repair and $40,000 to replace. He then told my wife that it was leaking carbon monoxide at is was dangerous and it needed to be fixed right away. Totally ridiculous. I had another guy out who fixed the valve and inspected the furnace from top to bottom. The system is old but working just fine. $250 and it was back to working I can not stress enough that no one should ever use this company. Unethical would be the nicest word I could use. These guys are terrible!!! They lie about what you need in order to up sell, they are dishonest and will straight up lie to your face in order to get into your wallet. When I first moved into my condo my mother in law and I were checking on the system and just wanted to make sure everything was peachy. I was right next to the guy as he tried to tell her that we didn't have an expansion tank and should probably get one (He also said we needed to flush our system, which was bullshit because everything was fine, they just wanted more cash, but back to my main point). IT WAS RIGHT NEXT TO THE BOILER! He was hoping my mother in law would have zero idea what he was talking about. When I pointed to it, he started mumbling and stumbling about how it wasn't the right one... blah blah blah... Theses guys are cheats. Do not use them. This was back in 05/15 I believe. Anyway, I see one of their trucks outside a fellow condo owner so I'm going to run over really quick and tell her to use someone else. Just a received my invoice for $174.50 for looking at things I already knew were wrong with a boiler because an inspector had pointed them out. Had to point out that backflow preventor was installed backwards to him. What I wanted was a quote, never received one in writing. As he was getting back in his truck, he verbally quoted me 12 hours (full day), plus materials, almost $2500. I got a second opinion, and got everything fixed to code for less than 2 hours work and less than $400. Never again Wieronski. read more

Needed a main line automatic shutoff valve installed and some wireless thermostats for our Highlands home. Was supposed to arrive with thermostats in hand. Installed the shutoff valve and cleaned up the job, but no thermostats and said he would order. Also needed a toilet flapper replaced. (Both available at any nearby big box hardware store) Three weeks later, calls unreturned, and still have an inoperable main floor toilet. Finishing the job myself. The job was finished on time and the workers were wonderful; helpful, courteous and they even cleaned up after themselves! I own a rental property near Silverthorne, CO and had called Wieronski Plumbing to come out to the property to install it. The appointment was booked for Tues. December 24th at 11am. I had been told that I would get a phone call when the work was completed. I had asked my tenants to leave their door open (they were at work) so the technicians could come and go from the property. By 4pm that evening, I had heard nothing & knew folks were most likely leaving early for the holiday. I called and left a message for someone to call me back. Wednesday was Christmas Day, and on Thursday morning, I called to check in since I had heard nothing from them and my tenants had called to say no one had been at the property & washer was not installed. When I called Thursday AM, I was told that, "oops, they had forgotten to call me to tell me that their technician didn't make it to the property on Tuesday because of weather, and that they were going to reschedule it for this morning." Fine. By this time, it was after 11am, so I asked the dispatcher to check if the crew was on their way since my tenants were still at home and no one had showed up. She told me that she had located them on her GPS and that they had gone out to the property, but had come back in for parts. A few hours later, nothing, not a word. I called back again only to be told that the door was locked and the technicians couldn't get in, which was 100% incorrect. My tenants had purposefully left their doors (all of them) open and unlocked for the technicians. I had checked with them that morning that everything was unlocked, and it was. When I called the office back to confirm that ALL doors were open, the dispatcher said she would send them out again. Great. Come friday morning, no one had been to the property from Weironski Plumbing, my tenant's doors had been unlocked all day for nothing, and to top it off, my tenants sent me pics of ZERO tire tracks and footprints in the snow-- NO ONE had been to the property to even try to get into it to fix the washer. By this point, I was livid. When I called to get in touch with the dispatcher, no one would answer the phone. So, I drove to their office and walked in the front door to a very surprised front desk person. It was around 2:30-3pm at this point. When I asked her what had happened and why I was not getting any calls back, and/or why the work had not been done, she responded that she had received NO notes on the situation, but that the technician who was sent to the property would be there shortly. I said I would go grab lunch and wait for his call. Three hours later, no call, nothing. I drove back to the office after calling twice with no answer. The owner, Walter, was there when I got there. It was immediately clear upon talking with him that he had no idea what was going on with the case, and was lying to cover his tracks and the tracks of his employees. His dates were wrong on the work calls, he had no clue about anything that was going on, but added at the end of the discussion that his technician had gone out to my property and taken pictures of the washer in order to give me a bid, which he would have ready for me the next day. I explained to him that this method was a complete waste of time and resources. Why would you send two technicians out to take a picture of a washing machine, appointment made weeks in advance, only to take the pictures back so that the owner could give me a bid, and THEN have to make another appointment later to have it installed. Furthermore, weeks prior, when I initially made the installation appointment, I had given the exact make and model of the washer/dryer to the dispatcher so they could have the parts ready. Also, the prior day (thursday), I was told that the technicians had gone to the property and headed back into town to go to the warehouse for parts... yet, now Walter was telling me that he had pictures of the washer so he could assess the parts and labor situation? Makes zero sense. It all boils down to horrific organization, lies, and a poor excuse for a plumbing company. It is truly a shame because the few people I spoke with, including the owner, were all extremely pleasant and I would have loved to give them my business. I own a dozen income properties in the area and am always in need of good contractors. Just a shame I will not be using them again, and am really disappointed in the way they handled the situation. read more
