Wig World does have a large selection. This is true. However, the customer service was very off-putting and odd. I went in with a friend who was genuinely experiencing a hair crisis and wanted to purchase a wig. The woman behind the counter told us she did not have time to help us because she already had two customers, which we completely understood. What was strange, however, was that when I asked if we could simply browse the wig selection on our own, she refused to allow us to do so. This left us feeling surprised and at the same time we felt like it was all super weird especially given the sensitive nature of why many people visit a wig shop in the first place. read more

Went to Wig World to purchase a couple of wigs. I live in Spanish Springs area of Sparks half the time and in Calif the other half. I use to go into wig world and have about 4 hair pieces I have bought from them. Went back and a couple was being helped and very involved in a wig purchase. I engaged in conversation with this extremely nice lady who was having a difficult time making a decision between 2 wigs. She had recently lost her husband and 2 other relatives and having a hard time. We talked about aging and it not being for sissies and being good to ourselves. I suggested she buy both as they were so pretty on her and she did. I was in the store just patiently waiting for the lady helping them to finish. It took about 2 hrs which was no problem as the lady wanted my opinion on the different colors etc. We were just having a very nice time. She finished and left quite happy and then my experience began with the employee. She began putting things away from her previous customer and I was never again acknowledged . She finished and went to the register and sat down. I was a bit taken aback and went up to ask for help which I never felt she wanted to give me. Showed her a wig I liked and she said it was too much hair for me and she didn't have anything in the store that would look good on me. Not even sit down and let me bring you some different styles I might suggest. She left and went about her business. I have never had such poor customer service in my life!!! I approached her again and said you really have nothing you would suggest and the answer was , No Nothing. I am wondering how many other customers are treated that rudely by this employee? How many customers walk out feeling like I felt? I think the owner has a right to know what a horrible experience a customer had with her employee and possibly give her the appropriate training . I was talked into a hair piece which required me to change my hair color, which was not the problem. The first time I wore my topper the hair started to fall out (in a circle at the crown). When I went back to the store to discuss the issue I was told that she was not responsible, that I had done something "at my house" to cause the hair to fall out. There is a good amount of different types of wigs to choose from. Lady was patient with me and helpful. She could use some help as there was 3 ladies all wanting to try on wigs. I would have given 5 stars but online says the store opens at 10 am, but in fact opened at 10:30. It does not say the hours on the store door. I called ahead looking for a specific wig. I had excellent service from the moment I stepped in the store. The woman sat me down at the table and mirror and put a cap on me and help me put my Wig on. I had the pleasure of going in Wig World. There is a wide variety of colors and styles, quite the assortment. Carol helped me try on different wigs and was very knowledgeable. She took the time to point out why one wig suited me better than another and was right on when it came to color. I went into Wig World and Carol was working. The first observation I made was her trying to put a 63 year old woman with beautiful silver long hair into a red punk shag wig. Now it's not the style I thought was outrageous but this woman was clearly of cool skin tones and the color was horrible on her. I said nothing. The woman left without purchasing. Next, a clearly cool skin toned woman with dyed strawberry blond hair and very cool one inch roots. Low, low self-esteem was obvious. After stating she'd like to get back to her natural color and quit coloring her hair, Carol proceeds to put her in an awful warm blond wig that was way too long for her age. When Carol left the area, I advised the woman I was a LICENSED cosmetologist who specialized in makeovers and color and she should go with a cool color wig for sure. Carol was listening and came over and told the lady: "I am the esspert-you don't listen to anyone but me". hmmmm. So for myself, snow white platinum blonde with blue eyes-she brings me three golden blonde wigs. I told her I didn't want blonde but I got "Oh I know what color you need-not you". I hit the jackpot when I found Wig World. Their inventory is quite extensive and very well displayed. I popped in Tuesday 8/7/18 and immediately spotted 3 wigs that interested me. Carol, the owner, was very helpful in helping me select the one that suited me best. She took the time to trim bangs to my liking and also shorten it to my desired length. Being from out of the area, my wife and I went into Wig World because my wife, being in a unique situation (details unimportant here) really needed to purchase a wig. We got into the store, and only Carol and ourselves were there. My wife finally picked a couple of wigs, one costing $60 and one costing $59, and proceeded to pay. Then my wife, at the side of the counter, opened up her purse, then wallet, and proceeded to pull out one $100 bill, and then another $20. She handed these two bills to me, which I then handed to Carol, and stated "One hundred twenty?" as Carol took these two bills. My wife then pulled out other $20 bills and a few other bills, as we for a few seconds talked about the cash we had remaining, while Carol walked to the front of the counter and said that there was also some tax. Of course, tax... so I took another $20 bill from my wife and wanted to give Carol the remainder of the payment. Then, Carol stated that with tax the total would be some $128.19 (or somewhere there about) and I handed Carol the $20 that I had in my hand to cover the balance. Well.... Carol looked at me puzzled.... why am I only handing her a $20 bill? The total is $128.19. Puzzled, I told Carol that I just handed her $120. She insisted that I didn't. So, I checked again with my wife (I know we had a $100 bill as we walked into the store) and nada. No $100 bill to be found anywhere? After some discussion which verged on becoming pretty heated, and Carol insisting on how honest she is, and searching, etc., no $100 bill. And of course, no register or such is kept as nothing now can be tracked. My wife finally had to pay with the $20s that we had remaining for the purchase (since my wife stated that she didn't see my actually hand Carol the money, but said yes that we did have a $100 bill) and bought the two pieces because of the necessity of the situation. But... we only paid $120 extra! I must say, Carol does have very quick hands. And after exhausting every possibility, no $100 bill. And that was our experience at Wig World Reno. read more

Buyer beware and be prepared for marginal customer service. This was my second experience with Wig World. Both purchases were for a human hair wiglet. My first experience was ok but do not let the women do any cutting as she is a horrible stylist. It took my regular beautician a fair amount of time to fix the cutting done at Wig World. The wiglet lasted approximately one year. My second purchase was in early March. I simply purchased and left the store once the women found time to wait on me. I took the wiglet directly to my beautician to be colored to match my hair and had her style. Within the week of purchase hair was falling out by the handfuls each time the wiglet was gingerly brushed. I called Wig World to inquire about exchanging for a replacement. I was told "all sales are final." I was not asking for my money back I simply wanted a product that was not defective.
