After 3 years of monitoring my young autistic son due to impacted teeth, an unknown doctor showed up at the last appointment, looked in our son's mouth, and told us to come in the next week at 8 am for insertion of an appliance. No introduction of who he was, no explanation of what the full treatment was, no mention of the word braces. I was sent to talk to a person handling "treatment plans" who gave me a generic treatment sheet and still no mention of the word "braces." Once I understood that the office was suggesting braces for my autistic son, I asked for a treatment plan meeting including my husband so we could get the details and prepare our son for it. This was denied and our son was kicked out of Wigal's practice for "communication difficulties." The only communication difficulty my husband and I saw was deep lack of professionalism including: no doctor introduction, no mention of the word braces, no openness to admitting these slight mistakes, thereby making the problem worse, and then blaming the patient and family, thereby making the professionalism of the doctor and his practice entirely in question. After getting second opinion, we've been told our son does not need braces at all! Wow, what is this, a braces mill creating a constant conveyer belt of dazed and duped parents who just write checks? Was the "lack of communication" the fact that Dr. Wigal was afraid we'd realize that the braces were unnecessary?! Go in with your eyes wide open dealing with this guy and his colleagues! read more

Looking back at my daughters smile, it's amazing to me how far she has come!! Her smile is perfect now! This was our second experience with Dr Wigal, as we now have 2 kids that have had braces. Everyone at the office is so friendly and professional....Thankful we found them and they were able to take an extremely difficult case, such as ours, and come up with a treatment plan that fit us perfectly!
