The place is ok and unlike the other reviews our service was friendly and prompt. So since it appears that they do read the reviews I'm going to try and help out with some constructive criticism. The food is overpriced for the quality and the atmosphere. I won't go so far as itemizing our tab but in general everything is a bit high. I often spend $100 plus on meals for two at high end sushi restaurants so I'm not saying our tab for four people of $176.00 was too much for a sushi bar. What I'm saying is it was higher than expected for the food quality and atmosphere. They should run some sort of happy hour menu and seriously consider dropping prices just a bit or step up the quality and portion size. We left our meal hungry which should not happen to four people at $44 a head before the tip. All that said the service and attitude was nothing like some of the earlier reviews. We have been going here since they opened about 10 years ago. They have generally been pretty good with their take out but I agree with the other review that said they weren't that friendly if you ate in. We go because it is the closest somewhat decent sushi and Chinese food. However the last time we ate there was very disappointing. They forgot to deduct for a discount when I gave it to them. They said it was too much of a problem to redo the transaction. OK, no big. I still put a tip in the jar. But, the food was bad. These were items we have eaten before but, the quality had significantly gone down. I think we will go back to Kazu. It is a bit farther and maybe a bit more cost. We recently gave them another chance after months of less than positive results and were pleased when we had a really good meal with everything being well prepared. So, we ordered again and were again disappointed. Don't know if they have different chefs or what. Hot and sour soup was sour only...way too sour...not at all hot The other orders were lacking ingredients like veggies that were supposed to be in there but weren't. We assumed that with recent local competition that they returned to good food preparation. They have not....at least on some days..I know not which ones you get good food and which bad, really bad food....you take your chances. Today, July 2017, we ordered again because it is quick and we had hungry kids. We had lunch here today. We were thinking of having the lunch specials at first but realized the AYCE option was a steal at $13.99 (on a Sat). We enjoyed a nice selection of soup, sushi rolls, appetizers and entrees. Everything was made fresh, came out hot (except the sushi, of course) and tasted good. The restaurant is clean and has a nice look. The food is brought to your table--it's not the typical AYCE buffet type place, and it's certainly a step up from such. I used to frequent this restaurant quite often. I enjoyed the food. Their sushi rolls were among the best I had ever eaten. I was here recently with my family and couldn't help but notice a different cast of characters. The familiar faces had all been replaced. We were seated at a grease striped table that really hadn't been properly cleaned and prepped. At first I didn't give it much thought and the waitress noticed it without my having to say anything. However, the food that I have become extremely familiar with has definitely changed. It's not bad....its just not quite as good. (In my opinion) Sushi roll: more rice, less fish Chicken dish, tough pieces of chicken and not nearly the portion we're used to. Perhaps they'll need some time to get the kinks out? Horrible food. You can't even call this Asian food. My colleague ordered an array of sushi rolls and they were drenched in green and red sauces. Couldn't taste a single bite of fish and rice. Solid if you live in Norwalk and feel like sushi on a random Sunday evening instead of cooking. Wild Rice is like an eclectic mix of Chinese, Thai and Japanese. I would say the food is pretty average. The pad thai is nothing to scream about and the rolls are nothing spectacular. However, the service is friendly and the atmosphere is rather muted and subtle. This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. Prices are reasonable, service is great, everyone is friendly and the food is amazing. It is normally pretty quiet there, but I think it's because they have a lot of delivery customers. The delivery is extremely fast and you will get your food under 40 minutes after you order. I would highly recommend the sweet potato tempura roll and shrimp jalapeño appetizer. I don't know why this place only has 3 stars. I've never had anything bad there. read more

A good option for take-out sushi or chinese near the Merritt 7 complex and the parkway/highway. The parking cam get jammed at busy times. When I have other shopping to do in this area, I will pop in to order a basic sushi lunch or an old stand by chinese dish such as beef and broccoli. We have ordered take out and eaten at the restaurant for several years. We've always enjoyed their food, this is my daughter's favorite place. BUT the last time we were in there, taking her teacher to lunch, we were essentially pushed out of there. They couldn't get rid of us fast enough and it was completely obvious. We were there on a Friday at 11:30. The place had several other tables, but they were far from busy. It ruined the experience for me and I will be hesitant to return in the future.
