I remember walking through the covered bridge over to the children's farm and petting all sorts of animals and riding ponies. We took my 18 month old son today, and found about 4 barns with their windows and doors closed and locked. There was one duck that ventured out of a barn into a fenced area and looked at us. There was one sad horse behind a fence that had an oozing wound on it's leg. There were no employees anywhere in sight. I read on their website that pony rides are only available on Saturdays, and that's fine, but we won't be back. The only reason I gave them 1 star was because they did have one of the largest playgrounds in the area that is good for kids of all sizes, and my son did have a really good time there. Good thing he isn't old enough to be disappointed in what this place has become.

Bike trails, picnic tables, and many benches along the river. This park is very well maintained. The Nicholas Conservatory is at one end of the park, and while I didn't have time to visit it today I hope the next time I am in Rockford.

For sure it's no surprise because there's so much in it. The Rockmen Guardians, Nicholas Conservatory, and the gardens are the biggest highlights but there's lots more to it to come do stuff. At the western end are the Rockmen Guardians. It's worth going along the riverfront path to get some pictures. The Conservatory is the grandest thing in the entire park though. Inside there's plenty of plant life including flowers and trees, as well as animal life, including butterflies, koi fish, and swans. They charge an admission though. Just north of this is the lagoon, where there's a rose garden. The east side of the park has a golf course, and there's also a Scandinavian cemetery if you're looking for history. Have to visit this park if you're seeing what's in the city. It's got a lot of the best stuff that's around here. This is great for getting some exercise or whatever.

Zoochosis happens when an animal is extremely unhappy and doesn't have enough space or enrichment. Every enclosure was very small as well. I will say that i was there for the small animal feeding time and it seems like they had been eating good food which was nice. The baby goats were very fun though! They were so cute but overpopulated for their enclosure. I do NOT recommend this zoo whatsoever go somewhere else for your baby goat needs.

There's not a lot to it to be honest. A good thing about it is this is one of the few places to do anything. It's most useful to youth leagues. There's a baseball field that looks to be in pretty good shape. Also there's a few tennis courts. These are mostly empty though because there's just not enough people to fill these. Good place for getting out and doing exercising. It's actually a pretty good park. There's not a whole lot to do but whatever.

They just told us that we would go under 6 car bridges, and the rest was up to us to figure out. There were some points where we were going to wrong way and had to turn back.
