    3 month old wolf pupp.

Lots a space and plenty of animals not only see, you can also pet them. Had the once in a lifetime opportunity to hold and pet a wolf pup that was 3 months old. Bucket list for sure. Hidden Gem!

Giving this a 5 star rating. Not because it was the biggest zoo with the most exotic animals or because it has the most visitors. Giving it a 5 star rating because we had fun! Let's start from the beginning. It is $10 for adults to enter, $5 for children. You can buy a pack of 12 tickets for $10 for the petting zoo and to bottle feed baby goats. I would plan on maybe 1-1/2 hours or so maybe less to see everything. The habitats are not fancy at all. There are basically cages or stalls and some homemade looking back drops. Here is a rundown of some of the animals we saw: guinea hens (just running around the place), emu, lemurs, horses, goats, wallabies, peacocks, rabbits, camels, reindeer, river otters, swans, zebra, ostriches, wolves, arctic fox, macaws, Patagonian mara, donkey, hyena, pot-bellied pigs. I'm sure I'm missing a few. For a little place, there are quite a few animals. I guess they have some shows and you can pay to have your picture taken with a wolf pup after. You can also pay to buy tickets for the petting zoo. If you are thinking there is an actual petting zoo, there isn't. It's just to get food to feed the crazy little goats. They are behind a small fence and you can feed them. That is the petting zoo. Nothing else just hand feeding goats. You can also buy tickets to bottle feed the baby goats. This was hilarious. It was so funny to have a bunch of baby goats following you around, jumping up, grabbing your shorts, and trying to get to the baby bottle. I guess this could also sound horrifying. We had a blast doing it. We were laughing and trying to get away from them. This is in the middle of nowhere, but a fun place to spend a day. The best part of this little zoo is that all the animals are very close. You can walk right up to their cages/stalls and they are right next to you.

This was a fun and exciting place to experience, we really enjoyed feeding the baby goats and being able to see all of the animals up close! Great place with a super cute gift shop!

What a nice zoo. You can tell they care about their animals. Definitely have some cool animals that you can get a lot closer to than any other zoo I've been to. They have a nice petting zoo set up with baby goats. Very cute. If you have the money to drop on an encounter, I would do it. We had an encounter with the cougar cub and it was great! Check their website for what they offer and call ahead. You need an appointment/reservation for the encounter. There is a gift shop on site for souvenirs. We drove into town for lunch. It was a great way to spend an afternoon.

We had a great time at this fantastic zoo! We never expected it to have so much wild life. So glad we brought our little son Nathan along!

We're so glad we came to this zoo! We never expected it to have so much beautiful wild life. And our little son Nathan had a blast, we will be back!

Went for the reindeers thinking that this location was just a farm that had a Christmas theme around the holidays. We didn't expect to see so many exotic animals in tiny cages. If that's your thing then this is the place for you but we left pretty quickly and donated to the WWF. Not our cup of tea.

We visited here this weekend; we live within an hour from here & never knew it existed. Great little place to visit & support as they take in rescued animals. They had Arctic & Grey wolves, horses, goats, alligators, reindeer, lemurs, monkeys, hyena, bobcat, lynx, tortoises, wallabies, & a quite a few more animals. We spent a few hours here, & the kids (ages 7 & 13) both enjoyed themselves. They had a nice presentation where they showed some animals and walked around with them so everyone could pet them; the speaker was very knowledgeable about all the animals & kept it interesting. Overall, Summerfield is a great place to visit, price is good & it's always great to support such a worthwhile cause. I will definitely be talking to my son's school about taking a field trip here next year.

The animals are very cute, it's been a while since I've been and I'm not quite sure what they have there anymore

My friends and I surprised one of our friends with a trip to Safari Lake Geneva to kick off her…read morebachelorette weekend, and we all ended up having a great time. None of us had ever done a drive through safari before, so it felt like a really unique and memorable activity. When we first arrived, it was a little confusing figuring out exactly where to go to start the drive-through experience. The signage could have been clearer. Thankfully, we visited near the end of their open season and at a slower time of day, so the entrance area was not crowded and we were able to take our time getting started. One thing to be aware of is that the driving trail has a lot of potholes and uneven spots, so you definitely need to drive slowly and carefully. Some sections of the path are pretty bumpy, especially if you are not expecting it. We decided not to buy the animal feed because at the beginning, we were a little nervous about opening our windows, and also did not want food all over the car. Even without feeding them, we still got very close to a lot of animals and were able to pet them through our open windows when we felt comfortable doing so. Throughout the drive, you see animals like deer, camels, llamas, alpacas, bison, antelope, and tons of ostriches and emus. There were also a couple of giraffes and zebras toward the end. The ostriches were definitely the most aggressive and curious. They walked right up to the cars and pecked at windows, which had us laughing and slightly panicking at the same time. We also noticed there was animal spit all over the outside of the car from all of the animals trying to get food from us, despite us not having any. There are not a huge number of different species, and you will see some of the same animals many times along the route, but it was still fun to take pictures and watch how the animals interacted with the cars. Admittedly, I felt bad for the animals because I feel like it could be easy for a car to accidentally run them over. Some animals took a long time to move out of the car's way, and because the safari is just one big open field where the animals can freely roam around, the animals come out of nowhere sometimes. Once the driving part was over, we looked at the other parts of the safari where you could walk around. We saw pigs, little monkeys, donkeys, and more! I love how interactive the experience is and how you can't pet animals at a zoo, but you can here. Pricewise, it wasn't crazy and ended up being about $23 per person because they don't charge per vehicle; they charge per person. Overall, this was a really fun and unique experience that made for a great start to our friend's bachelorette weekend. It is definitely something different to do if you are in the Lake Geneva area, but just be prepared for a bumpy drive and some very curious animals.

My only concern was avoiding the horns from scratching the car! The only thing t improve this would be if there were signs up at least saying what sort of animals you may encounter in certain areas. There were several that we were like, what is that?! It was in the 90's when we went so we did the car ride only, not the walking area. So fun!

Best thing is there's no admission price. This makes it even more worth it for looking around once, and you can come back as often as you want if planning to come more times. Even though it's kind of small, it feels there's a lot inside and you can be here awhile. It's got an interesting history. The beginnings of the zoo started when it was established in 1915, and a birdhouse was built the next year. Over the following few years the animal collection grew. There were birds, black bears, buffalo, deer, elk, foxes, monkeys, and wolves. In 1933 the birdhouse was destroyed in a hailstorm, and the following year the Brookfield Zoo opened. They chose to refocus on native animals after this. A few years after this, mastodon bones and tusks were found in the park. These were put on display in the zoo. In 1950 a barn was built. The following years included the addition of a water wheel. Farm animals such as goats, as well as birds like swans have their exhibits around these. The more recent additions include cougars, as well as improvements to exhibits for reptiles and wolves. Also the zoo has a few resources for education. The ZooCiety has various activities and programs. Have to say it's a good zoo for the city. It's located in the middle of the park. This is particularly a good one for young children, but it's open for everyone, so it's also okay for adults or whoever.

Admission is free. Parking is free and has more than adequate space available. The zoo is closed on Wednesdays. During the summer months, the hours are extended until 5 pm. Fall-Spring, the zoo is closed at 4 pm. Besides the zoo, they have a visitor center, sunken garden, veterans waterfall, etc. Inside the visitor center, they have mastodon bones along with information to read. They also have bathrooms that are clean and well kept.

The Groupon offer was equivalent to 50% off per adult, plus an internal promo code. That definitely sealed the deal for us. The surrounding area was having some constructions, but the direction to parking lot was clearly marked. I could see this zoo would be designed for local residents, but this was a quality one for taking small children for some good time. The animals appeared to be well taken care off. We dined at their cafe and the food wasn't too expensive. The giftshop was nicely air-conditioned and that was really a treat after a walk/chase with the little ones. My conlusion is that there is no need to travel specifically for "Cosley Zoo" unless you are also visiting other places in the area and happen to stop by. However, our little ones had great fun (no charge on admission for children under 11 year old) and helped us make some wonderful memories as a family.
