We had the best time on the Wild Rover tour. They were very accommodating. After visiting the Cliffs of Mohr we stayed overnight in Galway to catch the Halloween parade, and they were able to give us a ride back the next day. John and JP on the way were amazing guides. This was the worst experience I had from all tours, large or small, from 30+ countries I visited. We had a compressed schedule in Ireland and therefore booked a day trip from Dublin to Galway/Cliff based on the good reviews. There looked like half dozen exact same buses going on the same tour. When we got to Galway, we were told to meet at bus 4:40 for back to Dublin. We got back to the bus stop 4:30 at the pinned GPS location, and saw the bus door closed without realizing that it was not the same bus (they all looked the same, and lined up one next to another). So we waited. The door opened at 4:45 when we realized it was not our driver. We were told our bus just left. A series of episodes followed with one tour guide trying to find us empty seats and others not bothered. None of the remaining tour buses could take us in end. As experienced travelers, we were able to find a way in an hour back to Dublin. Nevertheless we had to contact the tour company to retrieve our bag left on the original bus. The time lost was most frustrating given our already tight schedule. We wouldn't have been in the situation had the tour guide stepped outside the bus and gave a look back the side road. Apparently we were not the only group left behind. Met a few parties in the similar situation as we were looking for options back to Dublin. The funny thing was that we paid the Citylink bus back to Dublin with the tip we planned to give the guide :-). My 2 cents: avoid going on tours of popular routes with a large company like this with inexperienced tour guides during peak travel seasons. You could easily be in our situation. read more

I thought this tour was pretty good, but the reason I am giving it a 1 star is because we had purchased 4 tickets. We were with my boyfriend's parents who are older and they got sick on our trip to Ireland. They were up all night with a cold- coughing and sneezing and not sleeping. We originally were going to take the tour on a Monday, but we moved the day to Wednesday to see if they'd be feeling better. They unfortunately were not, so they couldn't make the tour. I have emailed the company to see if we could get a refund for our 2 tickets-- the bus was packed and overflowed onto another bus. Who would want coughing/ sneezing people on a full tour bus like that anyway? This company will not budge with a refund. They said they saved the 2 spots for us in terms of seating (which isn't true- because the bus was full) and that the tour operated as scheduled (well yeah- that's not the issue). When you go to their website it says 100% money back guarantee. So, 1 star from me because I would like a refund- I mean, how hard could it be to refund 2 tickets? Do they really need the money that badly? Here was the response from the company: Hi Amanda I see your emails. Grow up and take responsibility for your own actions. If you missed a flight do you think they would give you a refund because you had a bad nights sleep the previous night. The seats were reserved for you so at least have the decency to show up or not request a refund then. The tour operated as normal. So you prefer us not to pay staff and costs for operating the tour just so you can get a refund for you not showing up on the day for the 2 seats. The cancellation policy is very generous 24 hours. It is not our fault you did not show up. We have all the emails to prove it and anything slanderous against us will be passed onto the relevant departments. Have a great rest of day read more

We did the Giants Causeway/Belfast/Carrick-a-Rede Bridge your. Fantastic day. The weather was shit, it poured rain and was very windy, making it hard to enjoy some of the stops. But you'd NEVER know it with the positive attitudes of our guide (Dave) and driver (Sid). They made sure everyone felt welcome and had all sorts of tidbits to share along the journey. We were the only party with a child (9 yr old) in the trip and they did a fantastic job including her, it was truly an unforgettable experience. Gave recommendations on places to eat in Dublin and did not disappoint! Loved getting to hear about the Troubles from locals who lived through it and hearing about the history of Ireland. read more

I took two trips with Wild River Tours. Both were awesome! Cliffs of Moher/Galway - while it was a foggy day, and hard to see most of the sites at the cliffs, this was still an awesome adventure. I cannot stress enough how amazing Rory and Sarah were! Sarah was a very skilled driver and made me feel very safe. Rory was hilarious and gave amazing suggestions on what to do while in Galway as well as when we returned to Dublin, and even tips on what to do on my next tour. He knew so much about Irish history! Both were friendly and personable. 10/10 experience. Belfast/Giants Causeway - again, this was an awesome tour, and I'm so happy I picked it. This was an amazing option to see the North. Gabrielle and Connor were incredible hosts on the bus. Their efforts to educate us on the beauty, culture, and history was invaluable. We choose the black car tour in Belfast. So interesting and unbelievable this area survives in the year 2022. Walls between neighbors and gates still closing at 7:00pm. I would go again. We went on the Cliffs of Moher Tour Including Wild Atlantic Way and Galway City from Dublin and had a great tour. Richard led the tour, and Paddy was the driver. Both were excellent. Richard had some great dad jokes throughout the drive, and when returning to Dublin, he brought an Irish film for the bus to watch. The music he played along the way was all Irish and relevant to the places we were driving through. Would definitely recommend if you're looking to see the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren, and Galway in a tour form. There were a lot of older people on our tour. I wouldn't recommend this for young children or anyone who cannot sit for long period of time, since you are on the bus for a quite a long time read more

Id like to start out with a disclaimer: I don't like guided tours. So we mostly chose to go off on our own rather than staying back with the group. They completely let us do this and the places they took us were breathtaking. We did the Kilkenny tour and the town was precious with really cool architecture and then Glendalough (Wicklow Mountains) had amazing views and really cool hiking trails. And then we got to see a sheep dog presentation and hold baby lambs thanks to a great local named Richie!! All in all, I don't think we would have been able to experience all these places if not for the tour. The places we went were admittedly amazing, and the tour guide friendly and informative. However, the ride there and the drive in-between stops was rough. Music played constantly and loudly the whole time, and even the most weathered sailor would've gotten motion sickness from the jerky driving. It seemed like the driver had a bit of a lead foot, unfortunately. For all that though, the drive felt safe. read more

I just finished the Northern Ireland Tour. It basically lasted approximately 13 hours. Honestly, I felt rushed at each of the different sites. The bus was late departing due to stragglers. Unfortunately, this resulted in less time to experience each of the sites. We were not given time to eat a proper meal. When the itinerary says 7:10am departure from the Gresham Hotel, I expect to leave by then, not 7:30am waiting for a couple who couldn't wake up in time to catch the bus. They should have left them for being late. Our first stop was a mall in Belfast where we were allowed 15 minutes to grab something to eat and/or use the restroom. I got something to eat, but didn't have time to eat. Since I chose the Belfast Black Cab tour, after the 15 minutes were over, we were whisked away. The tour was informative, but seemed to be politically biased. I understand people have different views, but it felt imposing. After our tour concluded, we were dropped off at the Titanic Experience. Again, not much time except to use the restroom. I had a couple bites of my sandwich in the bus. We then went to Carrick-A-Rede. Of course, the majority of people got back to the bus late due to the long lines with the rope bridge. I missed the rope bridge all together so I wouldn't miss the pickup from the bus. I really thought they should have allowed more than an hour as it took longer than that. Also, two people were left behind as they were more than 20 minutes late. Finally, we went to the Giant Causeway. That tour was very organized as we had a human tour guide. We had to be back at the bus by 430pm. We didn't get back until approximately 800pm. The time needs to be managed better. I felt too rushed to really enjoy the amazing sites on this tour. If people are not following direction about the time, they should leave them behind. It is not fair to others that they have to wait for them. read more

This tour was amazing The views and experience from this tour was great and well worth it. We took the tour to Cliffs of Moher and it also made a stop on a cute little village called Galway. The ride was only 3 hours long and not that bad. You do have to wake up early and be at the bus stop by 7am, but that is so you can have plenty of time for the ride and at the other stops. They do make restrooms stops, so you want have to worry about holding it in for 3 hours. The first stop at the Cliffs of Moher - you get 2 hours there and that is plenty of time to walk around the area and even get something quick to eat. You then ride about 10 minutes or more and stop at a nearby are around the cliffs to take pictures and then get back on the bus. You then ride about about an hour and a half to the next stop, which was Galway. You get to stay 2 hours there to shop, walk around, and eat as well. After all of that, you ride back to Dublin and make a stop for the bathroom 40 minutes before getting to Dublin. The price for this tour was very fair and I had a great time. Our tour guide ans driver Tara and Pete where amazing and really made the drive a lot nicer. I highly recommend the company and try and ask for the same tour guides we got ! read more

Need a one-day Ireland bus tour? Well here's your chance! Being here for work and new to Dublin, I was told to take a day off and check out Ireland. On short notice, I found Wild Rover Tours online. Luckily, I was able to find an available tour date for the next day, and scheduled the tour. You also get 20% off while doing so, fyi. I'm so glad very Wild Rover actually had dates available, as other sites were fully booked. According to their site, they provide tours to Belfast, Kilkenny, Galway, Cliffs of Moher, Coach Tours Ireland, Belfast Political Tour, and the Belfast Titanic Quarter. I chose the Galway, the Burren, and the Cliffs of Moher tour, only 40 Euros. This was a fantastic tour! They start by providing four pick up areas. Usually near popular hotel locations, and within the 7am hour. Our tour guide was Richie and driver was Patty. Along the way to our destination, Richie provided a great historical background behind the importance of the land in Ireland. The influence of certain kings at the time, as well as civil war, and wars with England. Being a history buff, I'm glad our guide was passionate about sharing all this knowledge that formed the great country of Ireland. My only minor complaint was the stops (coffee and an emergency pee break, but that's not WRT's fault). Really I was excited to be on my way. I just wanted to get to the cliffs as soon as possible! I will definitely use this bus company again, and will most likely tour Belfast. Two thumbs up; As I recommend to anyone new to Ireland to give these guys a try! read more

We had a fantastic day going on the Belfast & Giant Causeway tour with this company. Anthony was a GREAT tour guide - mightily impressed and Joe was a safe driver. Anthony however really made it a 5-star tour because of how he described his personal history and related that to the cultural context of growing up on a divided island. And with his mum being from Northern Ireland, it was fascinating to hear his descriptions of the difference when he went for holidays as a young child to Belfast, vs growing up in Dublin. He really did a brilliant job showing how most of Ireland really straddles the divide and his easy breezy conversational style made his tour commentary most enjoyable. Note - While there was excellent 4G WiFi connectivity in Ireland, that changed when we crossed the border to Northern Ireland and it was very weird - sometime I was connected to the internet, other times there was no connection. Also the bus used was really comfortable and I didn't feel constrained in my seat. The big windows also meant that I could see my surroundings really well, and when we drove around the Antrim coastline, it meant that I could see some marvelous views. The day was so clear, Anthony actually pointed out the coastline and mountains of Scotland! I felt this tour truly delivered excellent value for money as so much stuff was included within the cost, such as: 1) Belfast Black Cab Tour (actually there was a choice as you could also decided to visit the Titanic museum instead) 2) the Giants Causeway visitors center access, meant we had access to the many loo stalls inside, rather than having to wait in the long line to use the sole ladies toilet outside. Plus the audio tour was really good. I loved that we got a full on 2.5 hrs here at this location. 3) entrance to the Carrick-a-rede bridge was also include as part of this tour No-where did it feel rushed. Yeah, I wouldn't have minded more time in Belfast for our Black Cab Tour, but that's about it. All of my family has a great time on this tour, and I would totally book with this company again, especially if it was Anthony who was the tour guide, as they created unforgettable memories and a wonderful experience for our family! I booked two Wild Rover tours while I was in Dublin. I was EXTREMELY excited about my first tour, going to Giant's Causeway and Belfast. I was expected at the pick-up stop at a hostel at 7 a.m. I got lost on my way and was a few minutes late. I was pretty surprised the bus would leave that quickly, considering I had pre-paid and they had my name. I would have thought they would hang out a few minutes to account for tourists who get lost. After a few minutes, I decided they had left me and literally ran to the next pick-up spot the next street over. I arrived there about 2 minutes after the scheduled from that stop and they had already left there as well. I was pretty disappointed and emailed the company for a refund. They were VERY rude in their response and said they would not refund me. They did offer to reschedule me, but I had several tours booked and could not do another day. Three days later, I had my second tour. I made sure to show up early at the meeting point. This tour had the same pick up schedule as the first one - 7 a.m. at the hostel, 7:10 at the hotel the next street over. I got to the hotel (7:10 pickup) at 6:55 and the bus was already there. They clearly skipped the hostel pickup. I thought maybe they'd go there second for some reason, but no, they skipped it entirely. I can't help but wonder if that's what they did on the trip I missed as well? Also, we drove by some people running and waving frantically as if they had missed the tour and our tour guide said "well, that's too bad for them". Then, we waited at a Dublin tourist office for 30 minutes WHILE THEY SOLD LEFTOVER SEATS ON THE BUS. The entire thing just seemed shady and unprofessional. The actual tour that I made it to was great. I enjoyed our guide and had a fun time. Just make sure you're early and I'd advise going to the hotel on O'Connell street for the meet up spot and not the Guesthouse. This is essentially a terrible company that happens to employ knowledgeable, fun people as tour guides and drivers. read more

Murphy was our driver and guide and he was fantastic, funny and knowledgeable. He took care to make sure everything was perfect. We visited several cool towns and the scenery was beautiful. It was a relaxing day after air travel. Day 2, we did a group tour to the Cliffs of Mohr and Galway City. Again we had a great tour guide Kim, and driver Joe. I was lucky enough to do the Cliffs of Moher/Galway Tour with JP who was an absolute delight. I am not a usually a fan of a guided tour but I had fun. In addition I did the Belfast/Giant's Causeway tour with Noel and Damien. I had never had so much fun on a tour. Noel storytelling was amazing and I was laughing and singing through out this trip. Damien was ever so pleasant and always chatting with me when ever we stopped. I'm just sad that I was able to fit the other two tours in during my visit.
