[[HIGHLIGHT]]Upon entering you're in a comfortable pub/bar with comfortable and welcoming atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were greeted quickly and seated ourselves. The menu was small but interesting, several grinders, salads and pizza are on offer. We didn't drink so we can't comment on the beer selection, but I saw another patron with a beef flight. I ordered the Havana Dipper : a Cuban type sandwich with chicken, ham red peppers served with a spicy mustard aioli dip.. it was FANTASTIC, one of the best sandwiches I have ever had.. Recommend 100%.. my wife had the Mediterranean Salad, she loved it nut would suggest some Feta cheese and less olives, but she says it was very tasty. We plan on coming back soon read more

Pizza and wings were great. I love the pie-spice esque seasoning in their dough/sauce. Made it pretty unique. Their wings were great, too. It was my first time checking out the brewery, and I made the mistake of ordering a chorizo taco on taco Tuesday. I'm from new mexico, so I should've known better, but their chorizo was kinda a brat, and for 6.50 I think they could do better. Someone I was with had carnitas and it looked maybe steamed/broiled, but the taco had more in it than my "chorizo". The other food more than made up for that, though. Was really happy. Their beer, I had one of their ipas, left a bit to be desired. It was foggy (not hazy) so maybe unfiltered, and a bit sweet. I know that's kind of the taste preference in this region, but I wish ipas were held to a hire standard by local breweries, this one included. They had a live musician who was a lot of fun. The space is small, but it wasn't so loud we couldn't chat at our table. Plus, there's pinball tucked away behind some barrels. The one table is a 2 bucks, which is expensive, but it's star trek, so I guess that's OK lol. Staff seemed a bit rushed most of the time, but did their job well. Will go back, and really enjoyed the vibes, pizza, and wings. Would avoid non-traditional region dishes in the future tho read more

I believe I was overcharged for the greek gluten free pizza, and asked about it and was told I was charged correctly... $27 for a pizza? Looking at the menu I had assumed the Greek itself was $10, and the gluten free crust was + $2. But apparently I was wrong. It was very good food, but did not expect a $27 pizza, wouldn't have gotten it if i knew that was the case! $15 for a Detroit style pizza but having the gluten free version, it came out as flat (expected, I've been gluten free for quite some time and know all gfree pizzas are usually flat), so I wasn't sure about the $15 charge? In other words, Our waitress was very polite, the brick walls are gorgeous, and the drink options were awesome. They've got plenty of fall themed cocktails at the moment. The menu had enough of a variety to make you really consider what you wanted, it all sounded excellent. I'd go back in the future but won't be getting a pizza next time!! read more

First time here and I'm pleasantly surprised. Pizza was delicious. Thick, soft crust with a lot of cheese and plenty of toppings. I thought the gatherer pizza would be boring because it was vegetarian, but whatever was drizzled on top gave it a great pop of flavor! I had never had peppadew peppers before, so I did not realize how small they would be, but they were great for sharing. They are sweet with a little spice and also full of flavor. I didn't buy any drinks this time around so I will have to come back for that! Good service and atmosphere and there are 2 pinball machines. read more

The first time I came in, I thought this place was just average...this time, I was pretty impressed. BEER: 6 out of 8 taps were brewed in-house, and the other two are from Ohio and Michigan (Bell's Two Hearted and Jackie O's wheat wine). Although they brew several styles, it seems as though Wild Side Brewing Company specialized in American Wild Ale. I'm pretty new to AWA (basically, it's our version of a lambic)...it's a little sour for my taste, but like IPA, it's one of those areas where exciting things are happening in the beer world. So I'm learning...quickly. Wild Side does some cool things. For example, they age some of their AWAs in liquor barrels...liquors such as Toledo Spirits's Orange Tiger, as well as tequila barrels, and wine barrels. Predictably, the products are unique and delicious. I also tried their IPA (mild, almost like a New England IPA). Also tried their blond ale (think 'very refreshing American lager'). The pizza is excellent (Detroit-ish style) and is reasonably priced. There are some other food offerings too, but the pizza was all I tried. Bourbon selection? Very nice. Wine selection? Dunno, but they have wine...and margaritas, too. Atmosphere? Outstanding. Great town, great taproom. Cool music and cool crowd. Interestingly, it was almost as if the music changed, gradually, to suit the taste of the crowd? Service? Equally Outstanding. Lindsey was an outstanding barkeeper...she knew beer, and she was ultra attentive and friendly. Beer....it's been part of the human experience for about 13,000 years...that's right...we were drinking beer while we were still hunting the Woolly Mammoth. Get in touch with your inner Cro magnon. We really enjoyed this place. Mainly the atmosphere. Very cool decor! You can tell this is a popular spot as it was quite busy in here. We ended up sitting in a small table off to the side but it was kind of cool because we could really see everything! The one thing that confused me was that they had am awful lot of guest brews on tap but only two of their own. They did have their own beer in cans though. I really do prefer a draft beer. Anyway, we ordered our beers and both enjoyed them. He wanted to buy one of their cool beer glasses but they don't sell the ones he wanted. I bet back in the day it would have accident ended up in my purse lmao! But we behaved. We got our tagabrews and were off to our next destination. What an amazing day! Great beer and great company! Wild Side says it all. I arrived at this culinary destination totally not knowing what was to become of the moment. I started with the I believe was the Wild Earth which was a raspberry sour. Came here three times. Each time, it was really busy, but the drinks came out fast. They have a good selection of beers and drinks. Every time we have been there, the food was great. HIGHLY recommend the pizza and stuffed peppadew peppers! The charcuterie board was nice, but a bit overpriced for what it was. The service was great each time, but on the second visit, our appetizers was very late. When I asked the server when it was coming, she said, "They usually come out with the mains." Ummm..,, that's not how appetizers work. Another server saw we still hadn't received our appetizers. She was an all star and got the appetizer and gave us a discount since it came out very late. Friendliness and respectful curtesy gets 0. Food and beer get 5. Food and beer are good. the live music is good. However the male manager has a bad attitude and does not appear to want your business. After consuming a flight of beers on a lazy late Saturday or Sunday afternoon (can't remember now) when there were plenty of other bar seats available and taking a break from ordering more, he strongly suggested I leave. I stayed around and ordered more food and beer despite his rude attitude. Then another time, I came in with 2 friends on a late Saturday afternoon and place was basically empty. We were scanning the place, reading menu board, looking around, deciding where to sit and he comes up and again showed a terrible attitude instead of welcoming us and showing any normal welcoming pleasantries. it was basically "what are you doing here". Another time I asked the young bartender a question upon checking out. we exchanged a couple sentences and then she walks away to service her waitress in making drinks. WT? she knew I was checking out with bill and money in hand and walks away from servicing me. Then main bartender comes up and we discuss my question briefly and then she insults me and walks away. What is wrong with these people? I did or said nothing to trigger either of these reactions. is it just poor attitude and lack of respectful service minded staff? They are in the food service business For God's sake! I questioned her on whether this attitude and disrespectful service was coming down from the male manager that was affecting the staff. Maybe it's just these 20 something's don't understand basic communication and curtesy? i hope the owners read this because there is a problem in that place that needs fixed. People just want to go out, enjoy company of others and staff, not get harassed and insulted by the restaurant they are patronizing. The waitresses have a a habit of not returning your credit card when you pay. It has happened to two of my friends, myself 3 times. My friends no longer go because of it. I have seen many people come back in and ask for their card when I'm there eating. When I brought it up to the manager, she blamed it on me. It's not me when it's not returned. In the last couple months, they put barely any sause on the pizza. Today I asked the waitress to make sure that there was marinara on the pizza. Not extra sause. The pizza came out with literally no sauce on most of the pieces of pizza. I showed the waitress. She got me sause but charged me for it. When I went to the manager and brought up the issue. She said that there was sause on the pizza. I said that I showed the waitress three pieces that didn't. The waitress said I only showed her one with no sause. First, she must not have been looking while I was showing the other two pieces and second, even one piece proves my point. The manager refused to remove the extra charge. I kept saying, how can it be extra when I'm asking for something that should be on the pizza in the first place. The manager copped an attitude and told me that they weren't taking the charge off and that we were done talking. I was angry at that point and told her that she could be done talking but I could still if I wanted to. Who is she to tell me to shut up! I now agree with my friends and will no longer go back. They lost hundreds of dollars for 75 cents. If I wanted to be be a ass, I would have asked for the pizza to be free. All I asked was to not charge for the 75 cents. I should have taken pictures. I do have witnesses though that could back up what I'm saying. You don't have to believe me or believe their side. If you go there, you will see for yourself. read more

So, being from Michigan, when I found out there was a brewery near the Oak Openings park, and I clicked, it said "Grand Rapids" and I thought it was a mistake. It's a good thing I checked it again, a good thing I called to save 8 seats, and a FANTASTIC GIFT we went there for lunch. First, lemme say I have NO IDEA HOW they get food out of what has to be the SMALLEST KITCHEN ON THE PLANET. Or, at the very least, in Grand Rapids, Ohio. I'll get to the beers here in a second, lemme first give you the lowdown on the food from the SKOTP. Pizza - Detroit Style and it is SOOOO GOOOD. the fact that it takes a little while to get it is a good thing. The crust is crispy, chewy and caramelized, and the choices are outstanding. While the pizza my wife and I enjoyed only had 2 toppings, the sauce on top (again, a DET style thang) was slightly sweet and acidic. Perfect blend. The Wings - Ok, so it said a pound, and I did get six wings with the sweet/spicy chili which hit the spot just right. I would recommend offering a small/med/large portions on the menu and would guarantee that you could upsell the dudes ordering the smalls. The Grinders - One in our party ordered the pulled pork and, in his words, "It's soo good it's really hard to describe." I did order a "side" of chips thinking they were house made, but after seeing the SKOTP, I understand why they came from a bag. When you can, enlarge your kitchen, because you're gonna need the space to handle the extra people coming in after readin' this... BEERS. Dude. They only had 3 on tap. The plumb sour was WOW, so good. Funky, spicy, and the kind of beer that goes great with wings. The Lager is better than the canned kind you find everywhere. And at 5% you can enjoy a couple without much worry. The BALTIC PORTER is everything you expect from a poter: Earthy, Coffee, BrownSugary, awesomeness. Now, Grand Rapids, Michigan is the king of beers... but I have to say Grand Rapids, Ohio has a good start. So, RUN. Don't walk. Get online and get on the waitlist or give them a call.
