This is a cool local small restaurant. It has good vibes and a very limited menu. We both ordered roast beef and neither one of us really cared for the taste. The nachos had some interesting toppings but overall where the star of the show. I originally wanted the Reuben but they were sold out. I think I would try this place again and just stay away from the roast beef. It wasn't bad by any means it just wasn't my cup of tea. The owner was very friendly as well. read more

I returned to whisky and the wolf once again, had an great experience. The hamburger was zaza! and the chicken wings were cooked to complete perfection I also loved the French fries crispy and Hot! The cocktail was also very good! the White Whiskey Sour featuring Four Roses bourbon, lemon, simple syrup, and egg white I'll have it again. The restaurant remains welcoming, with movies playing on the other TVs and sports at the bar. Happy hour runs from 3 to 6 PM, offering $5 well cocktails. I had heard from friends that this place has great food and also noted the high ratings on Yelp. My mom and I decided to stop in for an early dinner. Honestly, the location itself wouldn't have persuaded me to try this spot. It's in a tiny strip mall next to a convenience store. Once inside, it's a dark intimate bar/restaurant with retro vibes and 80s music playing on the sound system. It's very casual and comfortable with a bit of "edge" to it. We were told we could seat ourselves and selected a booth against the wall. The menu has enough options to accommodate many tastes and yet not so many to be overwhelming. Our server was helpful in helping me decide between a Turkey Reuben or Chicken Sandwich. I ordered the Seared Chicken Sandwich with havarti cheese and arugula, with a lemon aioli condiment on the side and French Fries. My mom ordered macaroni and cheese. I loved my chicken sandwich! It was a generous portion and the havarti cheese gave it a tasty flavor. The arugula was a pleasant change from boring lettuce and the lemon aioli added the perfect flavor to complement the sandwich. The only thing that could have made it better would be ripe tomatoes, but not complaining. The fries were amazing- not too crisp or too thin; perfect! My mom's macaroni and cheese was beautiful with bits of chives. I had a bite and thought it was delicious! My mom found it a bit too cheesy and rich, but I reminded her that's what most people want! Toledo is a wonderfully strange city, and W&W helps build on our odd legacy. Located inside a completely passable strip mall, alongside a convenience store, and a super suds laundromat, you've probably driven past W&W a million times without ever noticing it. This part of North (or West depending on who you're asking) Toledo is really not a food destination, nor is it a part of town you might consider meeting up with friends for a night out on the town. Hell, it's a million conceptual miles from Downtown or Uptown, parts of the city you might expect a W&W-type establishment to open up, and that's partly why this place is SO Toledo. Do not let the outside appearance deter you from eating here! The interior is warm and inviting, and the food miles above standard bar fare. We began with drinks (I enjoyed the New Old Fashion) and the review recommended Potato Croquettes. Delicious! We each had one of The Prime Beef sandwich choices and they were moist and tender, and very tasty. We ended with the Bananas Foster and left completely happy and satisfied. The staff is very friendly! The potato croquettes are absolutely delicious! They remind me of the old Claim Jumper potato cakes and I absolutely love them. I would come here again just for those potato croquettes. I didn't have other food, but I would expect similar levels of greatness. They also have an off-menu Philly cheesesteak that I may try next time! This is a small venue so I would try to go at a non-peak time. The bar stools are comfortable for stools and they play a range of music. I had a Sazerac and it was pretty good! They have a QR code to pay the bill on your phone and that is amazing! We have been to the Whiskey & the Wolf twice so far and both times have been wonderful. I love this place for it's hearty, comfort food! It is a quaint little spot tucked away in a strip mall hidden amongst the chaos of Alexis road between Secor & Talmadge. Don't blink, you may miss it! Try the potato croquettes for an appetizer. They are a delicious- almost like a reverse fried baked potato! The Mac n cheese is simply amazing. The shaved beef sandwiches are the jam and the reason for coming to the W & W! Don't get me wrong, the burgers are super delicious also! I wish we saved room for the bananas foster, hopefully next time. Give Whiskey & Wolf a try. I have personally made the decision I will not be going back I will save my 25.00 and go elsewhere. By time you get your meal, pop and tip its 25 bucks a person. Service is normally good. It's not a very friendly place in my opinion. Ambiance is kind of a dive, extremely dark and extremely cold in there, seems like there is quite a few regulars. Orders come out pretty quick. I got one of their prime rib sandwiches. I thought it tasted dull, with a lack of flavor, fries were good but sparely put on your plate. The other two times I went there I got their burger and fries. Burger was a little greasy but was okay, nothing special, but decent. Both times I ordered the burger; fries were good but a very little amount like the other two times I had been there.
