Let's begin that I've taken my car into Champion Chevrolet Reno three different times immediately after purchase. The 110v outlet in the back seat has never worked. They replaced the outlet and said it worked. I went home and checked it. Nope it didn't work. Took it back and they replaced the outlet again. Still didn't work. I took it back a third time. Again they replaced the outlet. I checked it and it doesn't work. I just gave up on it ever working. Went to Wild West Chevrolet and explained my problem to Omar and he took care of it in two visits. It was a relay that never worked and they ordered it and got it fixed for me. Only reason it took 2 visits was because I didn't want to wait that first time I took it in for repair and replacement. Horrible interactions and experience. Sierra acted as if I was bothering her by asking questions about the potential mechanical setup on the rigs she emailed over to me to take a look. She even got to the point of saying I don't do sales when her title is SALESPERSON. I asked for the manager's contact info, but I never got it. However, the manager did call me. He was an arrogant jerk from the get-go and did not want to listen to me past my first sentence about how I was being communicated with and treated by Sierra. We have purchased 3 vehicles from Wild West Chevrolet in the last 3 years, trading in a vehicle each time. Two of the vehicles purchased were used (2018 Chevrolet ZR2 and a 2020 Jeep Wrangler Sport S Limited) in excellent condition with no problems. The third purchase was a smoking deal on a new 2024 Chevrolet Z71 1500! Every purchase was easy with no tricks and we were given trade in values much higher than other dealers offered. I have purchased many vehicles since 1991, sometimes as fleet vehicles for companies, and have experienced all the rhetoric, smoke and mirrors, and outright lies from other dealerships. Wild West Chevrolet has always given us a straight deal and we have never had buyer's remorse after dealing with them. We intend to return whenever we need another vehicle and will only purchase from Tony and the team at Wild West Chevrolet in the future. Horrible experience! Took the drive to look at a clean vehicle and negotiate a deal. Salesman told us on test drive the GM does not negotiate any deals. It is a car dealership and good sales practice is normally a negotiation. When we went inside to see if there was even slight wiggle room I noticed a man sitting in reception area with a frowned look. No greeting nothing. We went in with salesman and told him we will discuss our offer in private and let him know in a couple mins. When he came back we made our offer and he said GM will not negotiate at all because they put over 5000 in to the SUV. I asked to talk to Manager of Sales. He then walked us to the front reception area and said we could talk numbers with GM. Surprise ! General manager was the frowned man in front. When we tried talking he right away cut us off and said no he would lose about 700 or less. I asked was it 700 or 5600 because those numbers don't match. Salesman told us 5600 was put into the SUV and it had been on lot for 5 plus months and it needed to go but GM will not negotiate. Moral of story is if you are in sales! You greet everyone who comes into your place of business. Be professional! Shakes hands and show some integrity. Be communicative! Negotiations are part of sales! If you don't have integrity and a genuine interest in the relationship of negotiations between customers and your team perhaps you should consider a new career path! Word of mouth to this day is best advertising and way to get business! Highly recommend making the drive to Fernley or Reno, even Carson! Go where you are at least treated with respect! We bought a vehicle in April 2022 for our family at Wild West. Sales team was incredible with us. We had issues with the truck right out of the gates, but had purchased warranty as advised by the Wild West team who assured us everything under the hood was covered. They had our new truck for a week to fix things that were wrong within a month of buying it, all covered under warranty so no worries just yet. We pick the truck up from them and they tell us they cleared the check engine light but it will pop back up soon & we can schedule a time to get it in to fix that issue (we were told they knew what it was & would fix it because it was covered under the warranty purchased.) Life changes & we end up moving to AZ, we take it to the dealership in AZ expecting them to tell us the same thing, AZ dealership explains the warranty they had us purchase doesn't cover the issue and we will have to pay $4000 in repairs for an issue the truck had when we bought it that we were told was covered and would be fixed. Not only is that a terrible thing to do to a family of 4 as this is our only reliable vehicle. When I tried to get this all resolved with Wild West, calling multiple times(since we now lived out of state), always getting a run around from someone different to call my warranty, etc., I was told because it isn't in writing it means nothing. And they also tried to say because I had taken so long (6months) to finally get a hold of somebody in the office about it that it's my problem for waiting so long. Paid cash for a vehicle, They had well over a week to go through a checklist. Upon driving back to California, my main concern was steering vibration, that made the vehicle unenjoyable and unsafe to drive. The sound system did not work and the chipped windshield was not repaired. I was given a car fax report AFTER I had signed the the paperwork. The sales person did seem to be very knowledgeable about cars. A person working there named Tony was combative and blamed it on me. My husband and I feel that the Wild West is very unprofessional. We saw a Toyota FJ Cruiser for sale on their website that we were interested in. So we called and negotiated a price. The price was set and we started our over 400 mile drive to the dealership under the belief that we were coming home with a new SUV. I just wanted to thank Doug the service foreman, and Cory the tech for doing a great job on my 2023 Camaro 1LE track alignment. This is a pain staking job that takes time to get it right. Also the PDR was no working, along with other issues with the radio, and that has now been taking care of. We also checked the 10 speed auto fluid level to be sure it was not overfilled from the factory, which can cause problems on track when running it hard. I bought a new battery for my truck, however due to where the computer system sits it was not easy to install. Wild West was recommended to me. I bought my truck from there so I figured that would be the best place to have it installed. They quoted me $130 which I felt was alot but they said it may be under warranty. First of all I bought a truck from this dealer. The sells guy was great. Other personal didn't even acknowledge me until they knew I was buying. I went back to get my truck service. They also told me I needed new tires and they gave me a quote. I purchased a vehicle in August 2020. Since then, I have discovered several issues with the vehicle. Broken tailgate, defective coolant sensor, my fluids were NOT topped off (DEF) as stated, my oil was not changed as stated, they even sold me a vehicle that had a recall and did not disclose this during purchase, and most recently discovered the hard way, that the defrost does not work (snow storm in the dark). This vehicle has also had red clay dust coming out of every crevice since I bought it. They graciously took care of all of the issues initially discovered (I believe because they knew it was their fault). However, these issues should have been taken care of before the vehicle was even sold. I am now stuck paying for my defrost to be fixed because, the ENTIRE HVAC system is caked with red clay dust. Jerry has also stated that they only perform a "safety inspection", not a general inspection. So if you're in the market for a used vehicle, make sure you do your own all point inspection! Update: Since I purchased this car, I have been extremely disappointed with the follow through. 1st: After purchasing the car, we were not told that the car had not had a smog and that we needed to take it before going to DMV. After waiting at DMV for three hours, we became aware of our smog situation. Shane did arrange for our car to get a smog and apologized for the inconvenience. 2nd: We were promised a second key in our purchase agreement. After a few weeks of waiting for an additional key we followed up with Shane and he stated he simply forgot to order it. The next week he finally ordered the key, but in the meantime he had found an additional key. Shane stated he would be sending the additional key and we would now have three keys. After three weeks, we followed up to be told he had "forgotten again". It has now been two months and we have not received the key. Update: It only took two months but we finally received the key. Basically, the buying experience was extremely pleasurable but the follow through has been a hassle and frustrating. read more

My sister and I drove 4 hours to see the vehicle that she wanted to buy at Wild West Chevrolet in Yerrington, NV. The salesman "Doug" (or whatever his name is) is the salesman my sister talked to the day before. When we got there, the first thing he said was " don't ask me to lower the price anymore". He showed us the Equinox and gave us the key. He did not explain anything about the vehicle, did not showed how to use the new features on the vehicle. He did not seem interested in our business. While we were talking to him and asked if there is any more discount, he walked away. He was rude and has terrible customer service. If I'm going to pay that big amount of money for the vehicle and I know he will get a commission, I want someone who deserves to get that money. My sister really wanted the vehicle and called her husband about the vehicle and he said," drive it home today!" My sister wanted to take it home, but I refused to give my business to a salesman who has no customer service and treated us like we cannot afford to buy one! So, I told my sister to go somewhere else and our 4 hr. drive we spent to get there was a big mistake and a waste of time. NEVER AGAIN will we step foot in Wild West Chevrolet in Yerrington, NV. We told our friends and family about our experience, so that they will never consider going there. I called the manager Patty and told him what happened, he told us that if we come back, he will have another salesman to work with us. TOO LATE!! Last month my 1993 Toyota 4 Runner gave up the ghost and made the journey to the great junkyard beyond. Due me working across the Stateline and my husband being required by his employer to have a vehicle for work, we started scrambling to find a new car fast! We actually found one the same day a large, reputable (read sleazy, underhanded and dishonest) dealer in Reno. We thought we were set. We signed paperwork and were promised the car by the end of the week, just as soon as it passed their inspection phase. 2 days later we get a call that the car they sold us was given back to the person that traded it in and we were back to square one. Let the real panic begin! I spoke to a coworker the next day and he recommended Wild West. He bought his truck there and he said that they were awesome. He called and talked to Shane and then handed me the phone. I explained my situation to Shane (that I desperately needed a car 3 days ago, that it needed to be an SUV with 4 wheel or AWD, and that the max I could pay a month was $300 but $250 was much more comfortable). Only one car on their website fit my needs but it was priced above what I thought I could afford. I wasn't sure if he could do anything for me, but he assured me he wanted to try. After multiple conversations with Shane that day, including him betting in the car and jumping around a bit" because my husband is tall and head room was a concern, i received a call from Shane at 8:55pm with phenomenal news. Not only were we approved for a loan, but he and the finance team fought to get us a loan at 4%, 12% lower than what the "crooked" dealership in Reno had offered us. Because my husband and I are still working on our credit we didn't even think a number as low as 4% was even possible. They had also come down on the price of the car a bit, putting our payment at $230 a month. We drove to Yerington from Reno the next afternoon. The car was ready for us to test drive. As Shane said, he wanted to make sure we loved it. And we did. We gave him our check stubs, licenses, and insurance after that and went straight into financing with Hilary. As promised, the rate was 4%. She was ready with all of the paperwork and the whole process was quick and easy. We were never pressured to buy anything extra, in fact we asked about an extended warranty before it even came up. She explained the options, how it would effect our payment and then encouraged us to discuss it and only do what we were comfortable with. We chose the lowest package option and the only question she asked was "are you comfortable with how this effects your payment?" There was no attempt to sneak services into the contract that we didn't want or ask for. No pressure to buy things we could afford. It was simple and easy. The whole process took less than an hour. I left feeling like they wanted to sell me a car. Like they wanted my business. Two days later Shane checked in to make sure that we still loved the car and said to let him know if we had any questions. Since he went into the dealership on his day off to take pictures of the trunk space with a tape measure for my husband, I have no doubt he will answer any questions we may have in the future. The only hiccup I've had in this process was when I went to register the car. Because I live in Washoe County it had to have a smog certificate. Lyon County, were Wild West is located, does not have any smog services since they don't require it so the vehicle had not been smoged and they forgot to mention it. Yes I sat and DMV for an hour and was told I could register the car but when I called and spoke to Hilary she was incredibly apologetic (I find this an understandable oversight since this isn't something they deal with daily) and directed me to the place in Reno that will bill them for the smog check. Luckily for me, it's right by my house. I took the car there the next day, it passed no problem, the bill was sent to Wild West no problem, and then I was able to register the car. The way I see it, this one minor inconvenience is nothing compared to the wonderful service I received from Wild West Chevrolet. It was worth the drive and I am recommending them to all of my friends because the difference in service was night and day. I'll just remind my friends in Washoe County to make sure the car gets smogged before they register it :) read more

I purchased a vehicle at Wild West Chevrolet and was so impressed with the sales process that I have referred several friends to them. I have also faithfully taken both of my Chevy's there for all of the services, which is over an hour drive to do so. I have never had a complaint regarding the service department until now. I called to schedule an appointment to get both of my vehicles in for service and was told that they are no longer open on Saturdays and close at 4:00 during the week.
