Doug listened to what I needed and did a great job of meeting my expectations. The fan is wired to run from the engine while I'm driving and switch over to my power station (through the DC outlet that was present in the rear side panel) when I'm parked. He called me a couple of times to clarify, and made the process very easy. Although I'm far from finished, the van is useable for travel in its current state and I'm excited to take it out!
