Alas, it has only taken three years of searching but I have finally found a nail salon that I can come back to!! Wildcat Nail Spa is a small salon run by Tony and his wife. It is located on Grant Rd. next to Upper Crust Pizza. Everyone that lives in Tucson learns to hate Grant, but they are worth making the driving down. Me and two friends have a bimonthly girls day where we go in for fills and pedis. Our schedules are super hectic and hard to accommodate but Tony and his wife always make time for us when we shoot them a text. We have come in close to closing time and even on the days that they are closed. They don't hesitate to help as long as we give them a heads up! We've been back four or five times now and have never left Wildcat disappointed. Tony and his wife always do such a great job! They make us so feel comfortable when they pamper us... We have never been hurried or rushed. And such quality service at such a great value! Their prices are lower than any others that I have seen in Tucson. My boyfriend actually likes coming here for pedis with me and he doesn't complain like he usually does. I am so glad we found a place we can trust and come back to. I usually don't write reviews on the same day as my visits, but I had such a wonderful experience here and i just have to give this spot some PR! This spot is run by Tony and his wife, plus one or two extra workers if the shop is busy. Because of our test schedule, my friends and I were only able to do Monday afternoon (which is the day they are closed) BUT I gave Tony a call and he squeezed in our mani/pedis. YASHHH! Parking: a little tight lot shared with other businesses, there's a small street behind the shop and you might be able to park there too. Pricing: pretty affordable! I posted a picture of their pricing. We're still students and we definitely needed a spot that fits our budget. Service: one of the best nails experiences I've had! They were offering us water/ soda/ coffee through out. I speak Vietnamese, so I usually watch out for nails salons who trash talk their customers. Tony and his wife pride themselves to be completely polite and courteous to their customers! -mani: we all got gel and the coat seems pretty thick and well done. -pedi: okay the truth is that, today was my first pedi. I've been in Arizona for about 6 wks and have tried three nail salons and a another when vacationing in March. This was definitely the best experience. I called and was able to get right in. The staff was very friendly. The salon is small, but very clean. They have a decent amount of color options and services were priced well. My nails look great! If I can schedule appointments around visits to see my son @ U of A, I will definitely be back and will bring my mom and her friend. It seemed the other ladies who were in at the same time were regulars. We all talked and watched tv and had a nice time. They even offered my son a drink and let him sit in the massage chair while waiting. read more

Loved my Pedicure but most likely won't be going back for a gel manicure. Toni got the ingrown nails in my toes and my feet feel amazing. Only 3 stars because my manicure look rough and I had to go home and file the gel off my skin. Because the gel was sticking to my cuticles the gel is currently peeling and chipping. This is my absolute favorite nail place in town! I've even gotten my nails done elsewhere when I go home for break from the U of A and Wildcat Nail Spa is still my favorite place. I love getting the gel manicure and the spa pedicure combo here. The pedicure is really the standout service - Tony is the only guy who's been able to actually remove the calluses and cracks on my heels! Very great nail salon. The owners of this business are incredibly sweet and caring for their customers. I've come in a few times and can already tell i will be great friends with this pair. My first visit here i was looking around for a new salon after my lady had moved out of the country and i came upon Wildcat Nail Spa. When i asked the hours and realized it didn't work with my school and weekend job schedule Immediately the owner offered to compromise his morning in order to open early for me. This was my first impression and after coming in and getting a full set and pedicure i was throughly impressed. Kim does a nice job and is very careful with paying attention to detail. If you've ever slipped on making an appointment at your regular place and go from busy salon to busy salon hoping anyone will take you in right away, then you know what I've been through. I had gone home in defeat, but saw this place was about to close and was near my home. I gave them a call and at first they were about to turn me away but decided to allow me to come in even after the fact that I arrived after their 7 pm Friday night closing time! Tony and his wife run the place. Very nice couple with the most adorable, polite and intelligent kids (yes, on occasion, they must bring them to work). They used to be on the east side, but moved centrally because of the kids. They get what I mean perfectly when it comes to my nails. Tony is great with ingrown nails, mine are not medically severe so he is able to remove them just fine. I like my toenails short as well. He is impressive with this as well. The color selection is wide, although I stay away from the gold capped colors they offer, those chipped within hours the first and only time I got it and the manicure was a complete bust 3 days later. Would go with gel or Opi. Finally, the prices are reasonable. $45 for a gel mani and spa pedi! Location is perfect for me. They take walk-ins and are mostly not busy, maybe bc of the corner location that makes it easy to miss, and hard to find parking. The 4 stars is for the times I've actually had to wait for a worker to arrive (there was one customer and one worker, so the worker immediately called someone over to help). It may help you to call ahead of time to make sure someone can take you in right away after you arrive. Newfound loyalty to this spot, have visited 3 times now and am overall happy with the service! read more

Very cute spot! A little hard to find if you're unfamiliar with the area - but after flipping around a few times I was able to locate the salon & the adjoining small parking lot (bonus). Kim did a great job on my nails and I love that they offer color-changing shellac colors. I was offered an ice cold water upon arrival which was greatly appreciated. $25 gets you a shellac mani - a competitive price. Kim said they'll do a free pedi after 10 visits, which is a nice little perk (she tracked the visit on a card for me). Nothing fancy on the inside, but I wasn't seeking that. By far the best pedicure I've ever gotten. Tony was friendly and kind. He spent over an hour on the deluxe pedicure. He also got out a painful ingrown toenail with minimal pain. He clearly knew what he was doing, and I didn't bleed at all, which I've had happen with less talented nail technicians. It was easy to get an appointment, the phone was answered right away and they fit me in same day. I'll definitely be going back regularly to Tony. Considering how much work he did, $35 was well worth it for the ingrown toenail, foot and leg massage (with a mud wrap, oil massage, and hot stone massage) and stellar paint job. read more

I went here 2 weeks ago for a pedi and refill. The guy who did my pedicure did a good job, but there was a misunderstanding in regard to my refill. I don't know what I said, I may have said I needed my nails redone. It was somewhat hard for me to understand him because of the language barrier between us, and when he asked me whether my nails were acrylic or powder I did not understand what he meant. I told him it was powder (because I don't get my nails done often and I mean acrylic is powder). I was very confused as to what he meant by powder and he kept saying that my nails were too thick, so I thought the reason they put the acetone on was because my nails needed to be redone. When they finally got to my nails the acetone ate through the acrylics. The man did not do my nails, and a woman (I never got their names) began to work on them. So, as she's scraping my nails the woman complains to the man in another language, and I finally ask what they are doing and said that all I wanted was a refill. It turns out that there is a new way to color nails which is done woth powder and the only way to change the color is with leaving acetone on them. I was pretty upset because the woman was acting like she was upset she needed to now give me a brand new full set. The man kept telling me that it wasn't my fault and they didn't charge me for a new set, which was nice but it was obvious that the woman doing my nails was not happy. These nails came out so ugly, I was so embarrassed to walk around with these for 2 weeks. Not only was the shape of my almond nails completely wonky and not even, but the acrylic was not completely attached to my real nails which she did not file down, so it looked like the fake nails were coming off of my real nails. The third problem was the paint job on my nails. I wanted black nails with a gold-glitter base in the shape of a half moon! The end result was absolutely atrocious. Please see the pictures I've attached because this was the furthest thing from a half moon. I should have said something but didn't realize how bad they were until she was completely done. I absolutely hated my fake nail experience here and do not recommend them. I paid and tipped way becaue i felt bad for the miscommunication, which was too much for such a shoddy nail job. read more

I had a manicure and pedicure on a Saturday and it was the fastest in history; I was done w/ both in a 1/2 hour. I don't get my toes done too often so it's a treat and I certainly expect it to last longer than 30 minutes. Not too mention the fact that my fingers were chipped so badly by TUESDAY that I had to take off the polish start over. I really have mixed feelings on this place. They came in on a Monday (they are normally closed Monday) so that was very considerate. However, you would tell she wanted to get out asap. Very polite, but the whole time she seemed in a hurry. My nails looks pretty good when I left because it was the first time I had gotten nails in months so I was supper happy. However, after a few days I really started seeing everything wrong. All of my nails are completely different lengths, some were thicker than others, my nails were not square because of all the excess acrylic. A week passed and they grew out. I was so embarrassed to show my hands. The side that touches my cuticle was not buffed off so it protruded a lot once my nails had grown a bit. Seems like they do good work, but not on their days off. I would suggest to them not to offer coming in on days off if they are going to be rushed and distracted. read more
