This was my first (and last!) time visiting Dr. Wildemore's office. I saw Dr. Covello, and based on other reviews, I see I'm not alone in having a negative experience with her.
I made the appointment to treat irritated skin under my arms that had started to appear off and on for over a month. Before my appointment I asked if this could be a telemedicine visit using video, but was told no. I also specifically asked how much time to budget to be safe, knowing there could be delays with COVID protocols, etc. I was told by the (very helpful and friendly!) front desk staff that the absolute maximum amount of time I should budget would be 30 minutes. All of which seemed fine, until I actually got there.
My appointment was for 11am. By 11:10 I was sitting in the exam room after being checked in. I then proceeded to wait until 11:27 for Dr. Covello to come in. When I said I would need to go right at 11:30 to make another appointment, she didn't apologize for keeping me waiting, or even acknowledge that I had been waiting long, and instead asked if I wanted to reschedule. That would have meant paying an additional $45 and taking up more time, so I said we should just try and get started.
Dr. Covello barely examined me. She peered around to the area under my left arm, but didn't actually face it head on. She then glanced under my right arm, but had already begun telling me what the issue was. When I asked my first question about something I thought might be causing it, she immediately dismissed it and said that she'd 'been a dermatologist for 20 years.' At this point I was running late to another appointment, and it didn't seem like she was receptive to more questions to help me understand her diagnosis, so the visit ended soon after that.
Because she barely examined me and didn't touch me at all, I was left wondering again why this needed to be an in-person visit. It was also irritating that I was made to wait for 20 minutes without even an acknowledgement or apology. And when I did finally see the doctor it was oddly contentious and frustrating. I will try my chances with literally any other dermatologist office before going back! read more
