The crew arrived in an unmarked truck and walked into my apartment without knocking. When they realized I was inside, they turned around and left -- then told my manager I wasn't prepared because my plants weren't removed. Some of my plants are heavy and would have required extra care or assistance to move, but no one offered help or discussed options. When I left for them to do the work, I kept my camera on for peace of mind. At some point, they unplugged it, saying it was a "fire hazard." But left all other electronics plugged in and on. When I returned, I noticed a back-to-school gift card for my niece was missing. I can't say for sure what happened to it, but the entire situation left me feeling uncomfortable and distrustful. In my opinion, better communication, proper entry protocol, and respect for a tenant's personal property are essential in this line of work. Unfortunately, my experience did not reflect that.

A few days ago, I noticed a large insect with wings that I mistook for a moth. It disappeared behind my refrigerator. I don't worry about moths. However, when it emerged again in my kitchen 20 minutes later, I took a closer look and realized it was a large, winged cockroach. I escorted it outside and thought no more about it. When you order as much from Amazon as I do, there are bound to be some stowaway insects. Four days later, I began seeing tiny, winged bugs coming out from the bottom of the fridge. I believe that roach laid eggs within the warmth of the refrigerator, and they were now hatching. I called Terminix after seeing the sixth one and the recording said "all operators were busy, but we'll take your number and return your call." They never did. This morning, I called the Ventura home office and explained the problem. I was told it would 8 days before someone would be available to come out. This is a possible infestation, which I consider an emergency. I am a long-term customer paying pricey rates for their "service," and received no consideration for this. I have a rep that comes quarterly to spray the outside and they wouldn't even pull him off the schedule to come and take a look. And on that note, Terminix goes through field reps like Kleenex. No point in getting to know anyone because that person will soon be gone. More than one rep has told me that Terminix treats its employees poorly and I really believe that........And one more thing.......the annual "termite" inspection is nothing more than a ruse - an attempt to upsell the customer on something that they really don't need......If there was a "minus 1" review choice, that's what I would have awarded Terminix.
