Donny and Memphis have created such an upbeat, vibey space…read morein Fort Wayne and while I didn't get to talk much with Donny (he was working with another customer), I did get to learn a lot about this space (and tattoos) through Memphis! While I've never gotten a tattoo, I was excited to watch my best friend get hers. Memphis offered a tour of the new space almost immediately and I couldn't help but notice the signatures of previous visitors on the wall, new merch hung up on a vintage clothing rack, and custom art hung around every room -- it was a gorgeous display of the range in artistry they both carry. After a few minutes of listening to my friend describe the tattoo she had in mind, he drafted a few designs and got started! We were there for about 3 hours and it passed by *so* quickly. Between the upbeat music, good conversation, and mini breaks to get readjusted, we barely noticed when the first hour had passed. Although I didn't get a tattoo that day, I do feel more confident after having a lot of my (admittedly, stupid) questions answered. I look forward to coming back for my own appointment in the future!

I had never been to Studio 13 before, and was really happy when I walked in, and saw how great the inside looked - plenty of light coming in, clean, semi-private spaces for each artist. The man at the front desk was very pleasant, explained the electronic paperwork to me, and my appointment was on time. After Austin was finished, my picture was taken with the studio's camera, and then they offered to take pictures of it on my phone for me, which I really appreciated. At checkout, I was given very clear after-care instructions, a packet of A&D ointment and some Studio 13 stickers. Please note, this place is cash only.

I called about 5 minutes before my arrival to see if they were able to remove a piercing. They said to come in any time. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the nice piecing artist. He showed me back to the extremely clean and pristine room. It took about 5 minutes for him to remove the piecing and I was only charged a small fee. The version he drew up for me not only included the quote "make every second count" that studio 13 told me should be omitted from the design because it wouldn't fit, but also included other 3d elements I didn't even think of that made the whole thing pop! They admitted the color scheme I wanted wouldn't work, but more experienced with my color they knew how to give me the light look I wanted, instead of the chunky heavy look the other studio had drawn up. Getting my tattoo obviously hurt, it goes from above and over my elbow to my wrist bone all along my ulna (outer arm bone), but the five hours was well worth it! I tipped the guy $100 because not only were their prices fair, it was $2-300 less than what the guy quoted me at studio 13, AND I got what I wanted. Being genuine and humble goes a long way in life, and when it comes to a customers body and ideas you need to be careful saying "no" and spend more time trying to work with them. I don't want some snob making me feel like my options are limited because of my skin color or tiny size. Truth Ink not only made my skin bloom, but they made me feel accepted, understood, and comfortable. Getting a tattoo is a serious process and having an artist as excited to put it on you as you are to get it is irreplaceable, and now rewarded with my continuing business. I got tattooed twice at the Grade A on N. Clinton (the location outside of and away from the mall)…read more Dustin did my first tattoo and Corey did my second. I had absolutely no issue with the shop atmosphere, my tattoo experiences, or the artists themselves! My only advice is to actually shop around to gauge prices. I am a pretty timid person, so at my own fault I believe I overpaid for my two tattoos. My first tattoo was lightning strikes across the front side of my forearm, with a bolt leading down the back of my hand to my pointer finger. I had 3 words tattooed on my wrist to go with it. This tattoo was scheduled ahead of time and took maybe a total of 2 or 3 hours. I walked in for my second tattoo a year later; it was a 4x2 inch tree on my bicep. Both tattoos were black ink, solid with no color and no shading detail (aside from the trunk of the tree having slight shading). I paid $500 for each. Like I said, I didn't price check, so my own gullibility is what got me. I assumed $300-500 was reasonable for the first tattoo, considering the size and time/artist rate, and I got that price quoted by Nate at reception, who then told Dustin the price he quoted. Alternatively, Corey directly quoted me $500 for the second tattoo. This tattoo took maybe 45-60 mins, with the prep time included. I did tip outside of these amounts as well. I'm not sure if I was simply taken advantage of (I had verbally expressed that the first one was my first tattoo) or if I walked right into it and set myself up (or both ), but it's in the past. I'm super happy with how my tattoos came out, and while I might have paid more than I needed to, the team there is super chill and great at their art, from what I could tell. I recommend you know how to bargain and know the appropriate price ranges in your area for the type of work you're looking to get done!!

First off, i've had two tattoos from here. From two different artists. The first time was flawless…read moreand if I could remember the artists name I would HIGHLY recommend him! But... Allen Bracknell, DO NOT get tatted by him. I waited over 1.5hrs to get in with him because "he's one of our best in the shop" and nobody would switch me to do me sooner. Anyway, he started tattooing me with a sternum piece, his son kept calling during the session which is cool whatever. This was the night of the Mike Tyson and Jake Paul fight so I was completely understanding of why his son was upset. Well then out of decency I said if you want to do a second day next week that's cool so you can go home and watch the fight with your kid. So we scheduled that day, I show up and they tell me "well he won't be able to see you bc he's in another session" mind you I live 2hrs from this shop now so I was PISSED. So we rescheduled duel AGAIN, same thing. This happened 3 more times until I just asked for a refund for AT LEAST the half of my tattoo that wasn't finished. They proceeded to tell me they don't refund. So I opened a claim with my bank and got every single penny back including his tip. Such a unprofessional place. I don't recommend AT ALL!
