We had some time to burn so came to check out Scenic Beach State Park. It was not too crowded on an early Friday morning, so parking was abundant. We wandered around the day use area and down by the water. The view is spectacular! Surrounded by tall trees and forest it really feels like you are far from everything and is very serene. The restrooms were clean as was the park itself. There are plenty of picnic tables and a well-appointed playground for the littles.

We had a very disappointing experience at Seal Rock Campground…read more Our group of seven arrived around 1:50 p.m. and selected Sites 16 and 17, which appeared unoccupied. There was no reservation ticket or other indication that Site 16 was reserved, so we paid the fees for both sites within 30 minutes of arriving and set up camp. Around 5:30 p.m., another camper arrived and said she had paid for Site 16. She was polite and understood that the situation appeared to be a misunderstanding. Unfortunately, the campground host handled the situation very differently. Despite our explanation that there was no reservation ticket on the site when we arrived, he repeatedly suggested that we had removed the ticket and threatened that we could be banned from Olympic National Forest, despite having no evidence that we had done anything wrong. He also claimed to have been checking the campground and had seen the ticket still on the site, which made us question why he did not address the situation earlier. Rather than objectively investigating the misunderstanding, he appeared determined to assume we were at fault and dismissed our explanation. We felt unfairly judged, disrespected, and treated as dishonest without evidence. I cannot know his intentions, but the interaction left us feeling that we were not treated fairly or with basic respect. Campsite misunderstandings can happen, but they should be handled professionally. The problem was not simply that there was a dispute over the site. It was the host's accusatory, dismissive, and threatening behavior toward our group. Future campers should be aware of this experience and should consider taking photos of their campsite and any reservation or payment notices immediately upon arrival.

I've stayed here a few times. Its easy to get to and close enough to town if you need anything…read morewhile camping. We usually stop in Port Townsend either on the way in or out. Like all camping you have to make weekend reservations very far in advance, but I have had some success with setting an alert for the weekend I want to go. Prices do seem to be increasing making camping seem unaffordable to many. They do have free showers and a centrally located bathroom. Extra cars are 10$ a night, discover passes do not cover this. We usually go with friends and get 2 sites, they all seem very close to each other and don't offer a ton of privacy, but the closeness allows a little in our group to have fun circling the campground road on her bike/scooter. She also enjoys her time playing on the beach and in the woods. In the right season there are lots of berries to be found as well. We usually camp with dogs who also seem to enjoy the trip. There are lots of hiking trails that all intersect each other, it can be disorienting so you may want a map. I really enjoy the plant life here and always see interesting things I don't see other places. There is a new interpretive trail with some fun signage to make the walk even more enjoyable. If you are not camping this also just a nice stop off with your discover pass. Seems people get married here on a cliff above the water as well. It's nice to look out at the mountains and experience the beach at both high and low tide.

We stayed here for about 3 weeks. It was a last minute decision…read more There are 2 areas to the park, the open parking lot like area, on gravel, which is where we stayed. Full hookups and pull through which is nice, but no shade so it can get hot at the end of summer. The other area, with full hookups is around the perimeter and is nestled in the cedar trees. Larger spaces, quieter and lots of shade. The folks running the place are very nice and everything worked well. My only recommendation is that if you plan ahead ask for an area in the trees.

This is a very quiet RV park that sits off of the busy road that leads to the Bainbridge Island…read moreferry. This road is busy with a huge amount of traffic. Luckily you don't really hear the road noise inside the park. It sits between a mobile home park and a nice shady forest. We made the mistake of walking our two little dogs in the woods who became severely infested with fleas within 3 days so we had to call our vet back home to prescribe a flea and tick medication which luckily Costco carried. Don't take your dogs into the woods. We had the misfortune of being parked next to a chain smoking couple who sat outside their RV in a screen tent smoking one after another all day long. I could not even have my windows open due to the constant stench of cigarettes. It was awful. There are two bathrooms that you need a code to get into. These bathrooms do not get cleaned daily. The toilets are gross. I have had to carry Lysol wipes with me to clean off somebody's crusty ass remains on the seat many times. There was a spot of poo stuck to the side of the bowl that stayed there for a week so I know nobody cleans the toilets daily. The toilet seat was very loose and dangerous and I reported it along with the loose sink basin but both were still loose when we left 2 weeks later. The same filthy spot on the floor next to the toilet was still there too. The laundry room is nice so that was a good thing. If you have pets be aware that there are people that do not pick up after their dog even though there are signs around. Be careful where you step. And if you have a dog that hates cats watch out. There are at least 3 cats that roam around the park constantly trying to kill birds and squirrels. There are barking dogs that you can hear that get pretty loud whenever they hear a siren screaming by with is pretty often. Overall I wouldn't recommend staying here for more than a few days.

We had an amazing experience here--especially as first-time RV renters…read more We arrived around 9 PM in the dark, in pouring rain, and had no idea what we were doing. The staff still came out to meet us, guided us to our spot (which they thoughtfully chose to be extra easy for beginners), and even helped us hook up electricity and water in the rain. That level of kindness and patience meant so much. Our plans changed and we ended up staying a second night, and they were just as welcoming--this time offering helpful local tips as we got more comfortable. The park itself is wonderful: * A beautiful waterfall less than a 10-minute walk away * Walkable restaurants and a coffee stand * Hot showers (a lifesaver when we couldn't get ours working ) This place made our first RV trip feel doable and enjoyable. Highly recommend--especially for anyone new to RVing

The staff is most helpful and keep the place nice. Walking areas are close by if you enjoy trails. I can't say enough good things about this place! Nice little restaurants walking distance, gas station and a mini store if you forget anything. Post office and other useful places.

It's a clean RV park with 2 significant points that I'm removing 1 star for each. 1. It's not a…read morequiet place. Near a highway and a quarry that both are very loud. I tried taking my dogs to the designated pet area and there are so many trucks and other vehicles there that the doggos were too afraid to do anything but flee the area. 2. They are extremely OCD on the rules. Everywhere you look there are rules to follow. There's wanting to keep things nice and there's a way to be way too lax... there needs to be a nice balance... this isn't it. You do know that we are on vacation here, right!? I didn't feel comfortable with just enjoying ourselves while staying here. Everywhere you look, a rule... literally... can't even take a crap without staring at a rule while taking 5 minutes to yourself. I was scolded for breaking a rule that I didn't even know existed. I won't return here... I want to enjoy my vacation... I did, but it's because we left during the day and only stayed here to sleep and cook dinner.

Recommedned for an informal friendly bed and breakfast in Dungeness…read more A family run business, breakfast shared with all guests, Glenda and Bob Clark. Small and very friendly with fabulous views of the Olympic mountains and average views across the flats of dungeness. The farm has excellent cute-ness qualities: White picket fence, the building is surrounded by a large porch; inside family portraits dating back to the turn of the century, big cllaw-foot baths with Oooodles of hot water (I had 2 per day, heaven!). Two elderly intelligent friendly resident owners who live in the building behind the Inn and still run the farm. Glenda Clark (ne Chambers) explained that the farm is the oldest family run farm in Washington state. She is thinking about trying to get it 'registered', the UK equivalent of 'listed'. It is no coincidence that Clark Chambers farm is the first building on 'Clark road'. Bob Clark is a never ending source of stories about farm life and the social history of the Dungeness region of the Olympic peninsular. A chirpy cheerful couple, they remind me of cockneys, with a different accent. I spent 2 nights with them. During one day I was able to explore Dungeness, During another I drove passed lake crescent and visited beaches on the West coast, Ruby, Beach 4 and Kalaloch. The B & B is n ot central for the Olympic peninsular but it does afford easy access. You can walk to Dungeness spit in less than a mile. Bob and Glenda talked about previous guests who liked to run, or cycle. The flat lands around dungeness are ideal for people who like these sort of activities. I'll definitely be going back in the summer...

We had a very comfortable room with the modern bathroom (I am glad I chose that). Breakfast was a highlight! Praline French toast, sausage, fruit, and coffee. Plenty of fuel for our hike to the Dungeness spit lighthouse. Sara, one of the owners, even went out of her way to find tide information for the spit. It felt like staying at your own family's farm house. Great location, close to lavender farms, Dungeness recreation area, and 10 min away from town. Very peaceful. In the evening we watched two bald eagles on the barn and sat on the porch. Doesn't get much better than that!

They have a little dog run area that is enclosed. The bathrooms are outstandingly clean with a single shower area that is well maintained. Some people stay long term and others are short term like we were. There are little tables and chairs at some sites. There is a communal fire pit and shafed area with picnic bench. Very quiet low noise place. There are designated parking spots for your vehicle that accommodated our dually 3500 just fine.
