I found the owner to be professional, accommodating in so many ways, straightforward, and easy to work with throughout the entire process. She answered questions, allowed me the time I needed to evaluate my horse, and never made the process feel adversarial or pressured. My interactions with her were consistently respectful and positive. I'm not suggesting every buyer has had the same experience I did, but I do see some red flag reviews on here that seem very one sided. I can only speak for myself and say my experience was excellent, my horse has been fantastic, and I would not hesitate to work with Blackstone Stables again.

She convinced me to book with her after telling me the mobile petting zoo I was gone to book with is know for ripping people off and did the same to me. She called me with a sob story a month prior to the booking about an animal being sick if I could pay in full now she could save it so I did. Day of my sons party she arrived 30 mins late and did not have the pony I paid $200 extra for, all the kids were looking forward to. Zero communication about being late or no pony. Her animals all looked malnourished and sick. And she vaped the entire time she was with the kids and animals. The party was in July it's October she still has not refunded my money just provided excuse after excuses. Laurie (the owner) is a scam artist! Please save your money and book somewhere else!!

The Howell nature center absolutely blew my mind! The play place was very well thought out and just…read morephenomenal! There were so many different activities and places for the kids to play imaginatively. From the Burde blind to the stump jump in the massive treehouse with the hidden swings underneath, it is a child's dream playground. I can't wait to keep him back here and discover all the little things. We enjoyed seeing the animal ambassadors, especially Blue the turkey and it was a really good lesson to my kids about not domesticating wild animals. I wish it was easier to see some of the animals and some of them are mislabeled, especially on the side by the playground. Special tip; if you have a library card, the Howell nature center has a free pass with the Michigan activity pass. You can reserve for up to four people in your family. This is an absolutely amazing deal and we had a blast. Additional tip- pack a sack lunch and enjoy the picnic tables up at the steep hill by the fox and the deer. It's very peaceful and scenic and a wonderful place for the kids to run around safely, see the animals, and have a nice picnic lunch in the semi shade.
