Johanna and the day care counselors (Katie, Rachael, and James) were really gracious and great with the kids. My kids took to them easily and I was completely comfortable leaving them in their capable care. I have two children who were ages 6 and 7 when they attended last year and the activities were perfect for their ages. I was concerned my son wouldn't try riding a horse, but they somehow convinced him to try it with Rocky and he loved it! My daughter was already to hop right on America and she loved interacting and groom the horses as well. There was so much going on everyday, I can't even touch on everything in this one review! We liked Wildwood Ranch Day Camp so much, we are scheduling two weeks again this summer!

I would describe the lessons as helpful, vigorous, exciting, and rewarding. The camps here are phenomenal. Beginner and intermediate camps are absolutely amazing. I do believe the camp system could use lots of updates, but it is still fun for the kids. I was one of the counselors myself, and most of the kids enjoy the camp. Advanced camp however does tend to seem very oriented around cleaning instead of the horses. This is because of so many riders, and not enough horses for the kids to work with all day. The barn itself is gorgeous, with stalls cleaned every morning, and large day pastures as well as two year round outside pastures. Horses are well taken care of with grain and hay readily available. I will say, some of the website information is outdated, as well as all of these comments, so be sure to call the barn owner to ask for yourself. I have ridded, boarded, and leased from this facility for 12 years, and everywhere else i have gone has not been able to compare. That is why this place gets 5 stars. However i believe the camp system alone should get three stars for lack of improvement upon a broken system.

There are sometimes six horses in one indoor ring at a time with three different instructors. It's a mess. As a returning rider, I had a lot I needed to learn again and lots of muscle tone to build. I was up for the challenge. However, they had me riding either lame or behaviorally problematic horses. It was very frustrating. When I asked them about riding a different horse that I could learn more on--just while I got my muscles and skills back--they were unsympathetic. I recognize that school horses are not known for being amazing, but that's not what was going on here. There were easy horses--I just wasn't riding them on a consistent basis. I put off writing this review because I wasn't fully convinced that they were the problem--I thought maybe my expectations were off. Unfortunately for them, I have gone on to have an INCREDIBLE experience at a different barn. I feel like I can unequivocally say now that this is not where you should spend your money. In fact, in my experience, they will treat you like they don't want your money anyway. Sorry about the bad review. I hope you will treat the next people better.

Instead of communicating she thought my foot was on her sofa she walked up and grabbed the bottom of my shoe twice before telling me what was going on. No liquids were on allowed on the bus and instead of verbally saying that she pointed to a sign. Despite her attitude the children did enjoy themselves. We go the package that included a foam party. The gentleman that did the foam was very nice. For the amount I spent I expected better customer service, I would not book again due to her demeanor but I am not here to deter business. We got a couple things at the snack bar. I got a cup of water and didn't realize I got charged almost 5 bucks. The food we ordered also took over 30 minutes (we only got one thing).
