    Picked up our first glass!

Kind, relaxed, knowledgeable people. Sit inside, sit outside, walk in the vineyard, they are fine with all of it. We had such a fun relaxing time here. Beautiful and the wines were really good. Best part? No pressure. Loved that about this whole area.

Good wines, but come here for the sangria and port tastings! Karyl (the owner) has a fun and engaging personality and knows her stuff. Wine listings change as needed, but ask about one and they can tell you if/when it'll be back! They just opened a tapas and wine room in Tucson as well!

Beautiful vineyard. Breathtaking sunset. Great family trip!

We had an amazing time at the tasting luncheon yesterday! Incredible wine paired with delicious food! Karyl was a wonderful host full of knowledge and experience. We stayed after and enjoyed a few bottles of red, rosé, and sangria! The sunset at the vineyard was breathtaking. Karyl and Kevin were so welcoming and didn't mind us staying to watch it. What a great time at a great place!! We will definitely be back :)

Karyl, one of the owners, was hosting a group of us and what a good time! She told us many stories about the wine, her family and the winery. Wilhelm has many dinner kinds (dry, semi sweet, dessert). The sangria, especially Arriba, is super fun. It's a place for both red and white wine lovers.

Super cute little vineyard to spend a couple hours while wine tasting around Sonoita! The staff and owner are extremely hospitable and clearly passionate. I did a wine tasting of 2 reds and 2 whites along with the mulled wine. The whites were extremely light in flavor and aromas (expected of AZ whites), but the reds were great! Big bold blends and ripened fruit and spice notes. The mulled wine was sensational! The white was a tad too sweet, but C enjoyed it! I easily gulped down a mug of the red. The souvenir glasses and mugs are cute too! A must do in Sonoita!

Outside the tasting room..mention the 'Groupon deal' for a steal of a deal for 2!

Amazing! Karyl was so nice and the wine was spectacular. We took home a bottle of the Viva Sangria, which was great!

Karyl went out of her way to accommodate, even when we managed to mess up in our planning she came through to save the day.

The short version of this review is this: good wine, good vibes, and you can fly kites here!…read more My husband and I visited flying kite vineyard this past weekend and I knew I wanted to leave it a review! We had a genuinely good time here. This vineyard is owned by a husband and wife who grew their own grapes for 15 years (selling to other local wineries) before deciding to make their own wine. I do feel that this experience of growing grapes has lent them the knowledge of what makes a good wine. We both did the tasting and enjoyed all of the wines; we even got an extra glass and bought a bottle to take home. Flying Kite has great vibe - we felt like we were hanging out at a friend's house. The owners were incredibly friendly and the way they chatted with us felt genuine. There were a few groups of people there, smiles well around. As the name of the vineyard states, there is also kite flying here! The owners have a bunch of kites available for anyone to use. It was so much fun flying kites while drinking wine - truly a novel experience! I would also like to note here the attention to detail in how they constructed this tasting room/patio - given how windy sonoita/elgin gets during the day, the owners were conscious of which direction the wind typically blows and therefore, they built the tasting patio so that you are completely blocked from the wind. This might seem like a minor detail but when you've been out in the wind all day, it is so nice to get a break from it. I just really appreciated this as I felt it was very thoughtful. Overall, I would say that flying kite is one of my favorite vineyards in this area. I would absolutely come back here again!
