    Tire Tread Service

    (16 reviews)

My Grandma used Tire Tread services recently. She has been a loyal customer for the past 40+ years,…read moreand I have never once heard her complain about how they treated her before this most recent visit. I am not sure who "Danny" is that works there, but he embarrassed my sweet Grandma so unacceptably on multiple occasions, I would be surprised if she ever felt comfortable or safe using their services again. He tried to take advantage of her by quoting her over $800 for a $250 auto part. When she tried to question it and advocate for herself, he put her on blast and argued with her, causing a scene in front of multiple other customers. Now, I don't typically give negative reviews, I love supporting local businesses, but when I hear that an innocent person was taken advantage of by a supposedly "specialized professional", I find it severely disconcerting. We are supposed to be able to trust these individuals to take care of our loved ones by providing the best care possible for their automobiles and make them safe and reliable to drive. At the very least, I would have expected my Grandma to have been treated respectfully and professionally. I was shocked to hear otherwise. I won't encourage others to avoid this business just because my Grandma was victimized by a single employee, but I do hope that a certain level of accountability will be maintained within their staff moving forward.

When I walked in, I expected a professional and welcoming environment. Instead, I was met with an attitude that made me feel as though my questions were an inconvenience. The young employee behind the counter seemed far more interested in his cell phone than engaging with a customer who was simply seeking clarification about services provided. Rather than taking the time to answer questions courteously, his demeanor came across as dismissive and uninterested. What stood out most was the contrast between the level of customer service I expected and what I experienced. A customer should never feel like they are bothering staff by asking reasonable questions about work they have paid for. Professionalism, communication, and respect are just as important as the work being performed, and unfortunately those qualities were lacking during my visit. I also couldn't help but notice that the shop appeared much quieter than I remember it being in years past. Seeing employees sitting in the bays and on their phones while receiving such a cold reception only reinforced my impression that customer service is no longer a priority. I hope management takes this feedback seriously. A more welcoming attitude and a greater focus on customer interactions would go a long way toward improving the overall experience.

The…read morefirst time I came here the person on the counter was very nice and friendly he was very detailed telling me what problems they had found the most important things to be fix (urgent and not urgent). Before I came here I went to a different auto shops and compared the advice but this shop beat the other. I also wanted to thank them for being kind and thoughtful because I dropped my metal purse on their waiting area with all of my ID's and ATM cards and they sent it back to my house completely. I'm so happy and grateful that there still a lot of good people in this world

When I…read morearrived, an employee was speaking with two other men and stopped the conversation to ask if he could help me. I asked if I could get a state inspection that day, and he told me they weren't doing inspections that day. I then asked when they did inspections. He told me they perform them Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, beginning at 8:00 AM, and that they often fill up before 9:00 AM. I thanked him and left. What I found frustrating is that Wednesday is apparently a day when they don't perform inspections at all, yet that information wasn't apparent to me when I was planning the visit. I had to drive all the way back home, regroup, and reschedule my plans. I was able to find another shop that same day, make an appointment, and have my Virginia safety inspection completed without any problem. I was particularly surprised because ATA has very high ratings and reviews describing the business as trustworthy. My experience was not consistent with the impression I got from those reviews. At minimum, I would suggest that ATA clearly post on its website and other listings that inspections are not performed on Wednesdays and that daily inspection capacity can fill before 9:00 AM. I'm not claiming to know the employee's intentions, but the experience left me uncomfortable and unnecessarily cost me time.
