We were fortunate a few years ago to pick up a small cottage in Carmel. We realized in order to…read moremake this something that we could potentially retire to we would need to expand it a little and for that needed an architect or draftsman that could design something that was sympathetic to the existing structure, the cottage is pretty funky being built in the 30's and remodeled by no other than Hugh Comstock 10 years later so is bursting to charm and quirky. As part of the quirky the house was painted in what I can only describe as some excellent Camo colors. Fantastic if you want the house to disappear into the trees but certainly very limited curb appeal which was doing the cottage an injustice IMO. With the new part being fresh and to ensure the house parts bind, it's important to give it a new lick of paint in it's entirety. We had a few firms bid on painting the the inside of the new parts in keeping with the existing scheme and also the outside. TNT fell roughly in the middle of the pack but they gave us the sense they were more artists than commercial painters and for a property that we were trying hard to be sympathetic to the existing structure and to Carmel in general it felt very right.
