No working GPS or signal, and I had only booked this place on Expedia prior to my trip, since everything in Forks was fully booked. But let me just say... I ended up LOVING it! The cabin was spotless, cozy, and had everything I could possibly need... Fireplace, WiFi, kitchenette, fridge, TV... you name it! I especially loved all the windows that let in tons of natural light, and the porch out front was such a nice touch. The staff at the office were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They even offered me an upgrade for just $15, which I really appreciated. The location itself was absolutely stunning... Surrounded by mountains and overlooking a beautiful lake, it felt like the perfect escape. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway, this cabin is it. I was not disappointed in the slightest and honestly can't wait to come back. Thank you for such a wonderful experience! Washington is truly a beautiful state and staying here just solidified my opinion.

Rain Forest Resort Village has fireplace cabins and suites, Village Inn rooms and a RV Campground. They gave me a room with a balcony that had a gorgeous view of Lake Quinault. I enjoyed waking up to the sunset over the lake. The room was nice and cozy and the bed was very comfortable. Next to the front desk at Rain Forest Resort Village is a small general store that has pretty much anything you may need. There is also a gift shop and laundromat. The staff here is great and very welcoming. They pointed out a couple of hiking trails for me to do that were nearby. I was able to do the Quinault Rain Forest hike and the short hike to the World's Largest Spruce Tree near the lake. Lake Quinault and the Salmon House Restaurant are across the street from Rain Forest Resort Village. The downtown area of Quinault is just a short drive away. Merriman Falls isn't too far away either if you want to check that out. Overall, my stay here was wonderful and relaxing. You can't beat the gorgeous views of Lake Quinault from your room.

You can walk along local trails right from the campground, and you can walk over to the Visitor Center, museum, and lodge. The sites are spacious, with picnic tables and fire rings. The bathrooms were large and clean and included showers. The location of your site is important here. Some are along the lake shore, while others are right along the roads in camp. We had a "walk in" campsite, which was a decent walk away from the main part of camp. It also intersected with another trail, so sometimes random people were walking around lost. Stay here if you can get a waterfront site and choose carefully!

The layout of this campground consists of four loops. A, B, C, D, and each loop has a numbered sites. Each campsite has a table and a fire ring. Park your car correctly and you can ensure to make your spot more private. Under a canopy of trees which are beautiful. The bathroom has running toilets and is well lit. Making nighttime walks to the bathroom less scary, lol. The camp host came over to introduce herself and warn about the crows. Apparently they were rampant and able to attack and tear up campsites if you leave anything out. A very quiet area and super close to Rialto Beach. Which I would not recommend walking to as there is no trail and you'd have to walk on the road. A great central location to explore the Olympic Peninsula. Very nice spot to get back into camping. You can tell how much the owners care about each person's stay by the attention to those fine details such as the high-tech dog wash, excellent bathhouse, the flowers, the bird feeders, and houses throughout. The camp hosts are all wonderful you can tell they want each person to enjoy their stay and go above and beyond.

I got a little emotional as I recalled them being so small, and cut to now, how fast time flew. Their memories of this place were so fond. We checked off a bucket list item though- we told ourselves that the next time we come back, we'd have a bonfire on the beach and that's exactly what we did! The women's washroom had no soap for at least two days and the men's was running out of TP when we left. The shower could definitely use updating since you couldn't aim the shower head and the room should have been cleaned more often. The tent campsites across from us were tiny compared to other campgrounds. You have to park your car in the space allowed leaving not enough of room for a large tent, but most of the tent campers were couples with smaller tents. We rented the two yurts for 4 nights. The site for each yurt is quite large since it looked like the site formally was for 2 tent sites. They have a single outlet and a heater. The mattress pads were a joke and thankfully we brought a blow up mattress just in case. The yurt was much smaller than the cabins at other Washington State campgrounds so we had to organize kitchen utensils, etc. on the floor. The yurts have a bunkbed, twin on top and full lower. Our yurt had no ladder to get to the top, but our daughter's family's did have a ladder. (They didn't have blow up mattresses and I don't know how they managed to sleep. Our daughter did say she had bruises because the mattress sunk to the boards underneath.) Would we go back? Well, if it's just my wife and I, then we'd find a nice rental (and admittedly pay a lot more).

The bed (up in the loft) was high quality and incredibly comfortable. I was surprised to have tv and good WiFi in this remote location. The resort was quiet with a mix of cabins, rv spots, and tent camping. Both the interior and outdoor deck of the little cabin were comfy and worth the price. The drive to the Third Beach trailhead was less than 10 minutes away.
