Great location and beach (Therefore, 3 stars). The campground is showing it's age and lack of maintenance. Two showers were unavailable supposedly because of vandalism, but shouldn't they be fixed and open? The women's washroom had no soap for at least two days and the men's was running out of TP when we left. The shower could definitely use updating since you couldn't aim the shower head and the room should have been cleaned more often. The tent campsites across from us were tiny compared to other campgrounds. You have to park your car in the space allowed leaving not enough of room for a large tent, but most of the tent campers were couples with smaller tents. We rented the two yurts for 4 nights. The site for each yurt is quite large since it looked like the site formally was for 2 tent sites. They have a single outlet and a heater. The mattress pads were a joke and thankfully we brought a blow up mattress just in case. The yurt was much smaller than the cabins at other Washington State campgrounds so we had to organize kitchen utensils, etc. on the floor. The yurts have a bunkbed, twin on top and full lower. Our yurt had no ladder to get to the top, but our daughter's family's did have a ladder. (They didn't have blow up mattresses and I don't know how they managed to sleep. Our daughter did say she had bruises because the mattress sunk to the boards underneath.) Would we go back? Well, if it's just my wife and I, then we'd find a nice rental (and admittedly pay a lot more). read more

No hook ups but it is all about the view. Sites are a parking lot of larger rvs or trailers but the view opens up the space. Most older couples with dogs in the fall. The weather is 70 today with beautiful sunset. Wish I could stay a week! Spots 2-20 are the best. read more

This is a gem off the beaten path. A bit out of the way. No conveniences if you forgot anything. There is a camp host but no rangers. There is a pay booth. Most sights you now reserve online. The park is situated on a bay with a small river that runs out to the ocean. Beautiful views, short walk to the ocean. People drive on the beach here. The spots have no privacy here. This is all about the view. There are 2 restrooms with showers that need tokens. Also no fires here. Understandably because the sites are close. This campground lends more to fully contained rigs. read more

I cannot get over how beautiful Pacific Beach State Park is. It never fails to amaze me no matter how many times I see the beautiful sun set or rise, or how many times I go back home then return next year for vacation. I have so many pictures so I'll attach a few but you can even see some of the park from the neighborhood I stay in up here. If you haven't been here and are willing to consider it or you like beaches, I highly suggest it!! Photographers be warned though: you may die of shock when you find out how many beautiful things are around here and the amount of shots you can get just in an hour or two. Haha anyways it's beautiful and I'll be back! read more

We camped here for two nights and it was amazing. The bathrooms were very clean and well lit. The park was kept very clean and very friendly park staff. Lots of kids riding around on bikes and scooters. Only downside is no campfire rings and they only allow propane rings but they do allow fires on the beach. Campsites were a little spread out but not private. We loved our camping trip here will definitely come back to camp again. We camped with our two young kids(2,4) and two dogs. read more

Awesome place to go camping or yurting. We came here on the weekend and I was definitely impressed. At first, it didn't look much like a campground because it was inundated with RVs all around. Once you drive further in, you can see the yurts! Each yurt has about two parking spaces up front. The yurts have a bench area so if you want to picnic, you can. I was so impressed with how clean each yurt was. The interior is very simple: a full size bed on the bottom, a twin on top and then a full size futon. For two large people, the full size bed might not be roomy enough but we made the most of it. It was a little tight. They had indoor heating and electrical plugs. If you have verizon, you'll get good coverage and cell service. The bathroom facilities were nearby and pretty clean. They had water pumps nearby in case you want to wash things. Just about 30-40 feet from our yurt was the beach. We easily walked over and enjoyed the beautiful views. I definitely would come back. read more

I LOVE this campground location! RIGHT on the beach! Try to get a reservation ASAP! I went in May and while it may have poured the first two days, the last two couldn't have been prettier. I took walks out in the beach both days and had to get rid of my jacket because the morning sun was warm enough. While you're not allowed to have fires in the campground they are permitted on the beach. Word to the wise - dig a deep hole for your wood to burn in as its windier than all hell. Bring your chairs, friends, marshmallows and sweatshirts :) I recommend this location to anyone who: A) wants to camp next to the beach, B) is ok with the cold and C) understands Washington state isn't Mexico or Hawaii and won't complain their whole stay! read more

We took our motorhome and two daughters;3 and 9 for a two night stay here as we were on our Olympic peninsula weekly trip. This place was fabulous!! The park is a short walk to the beach and the beach is so big and vast is wonderful! However the town itself is not much. But 1 mike away is Seabrook and there is much more food and shops there. Beautiful place to fall asleep. Beautiful place to wake up. Rain forest on the ocean and the tree of life. 10/10 a mystical place.

We took our RV on pretty short notice to this beautiful place. All the serious clammers had early reservations for prime spots, so initially we had no hook up. Great park. Every site has a variety of good points. Joy, who worked daily in the park office was incredibly friendly and helpful. She assisted us when there was an opportunity to move to another site for electricity. The beach access is ADA accommodating, and downtown Pacific Beach is within walking distance. This portion of the shore is lovely. We will be back. Take note that on a busy weekends, there will be experienced RVers using their generators in non-hook-up sites:) My husband wants me to provide a less glowing report, as he is concerned you all will show up. read more

This campground is tough to beat. There isn't much for landscaping, trails, activities, structures, or playground toys. But what it does have is a peaceful feeling and access to one of the nicest beaches around. Regardless of what spot you choose, you're only a few minutes from having your toes in the sand. The location is definitely what makes this campground so good. We stayed in one of the park's new yurts. This was a fabulous experience. Imagine going camping and driving up to find the tent has already been set up for you! The yurt comes with an electric light, an outlet, a hardwood floor, and a heater. We'll definitely be yurt camping again and maybe even doing so at Pacific Beach State Park. The nearby town is fun too, with convenience stores, second had store, bakery, kite shop, and more. read more

Hands down our favorite beach camping in Washington. If you like digging in the sand, throwing frisbees on the beach, jumping waves, flying kites and paddling around in the creek-you'll LOVE this spot. Short walk or bike ride into....'town'. I don't even think there is cell service which we were very happy about because it always makes camping better....more authentic. Bring your books, relax on the beach! This was a great campground. Definitely more RVs than tents but there are designated areas for tents. Our spot was really nice and spacious. It was right by the water and allowed us to see it through our tent window. The facilities in this campground were very nice and clean. Showers are available but you need tokens to use. The beach is quite possibly the sandiest beach I've seen so far in the Pacific Northwest. Other beaches are all pebbles and rocks but this beach is great. There is a little town just a short walk away where you can buy local firewood and make a campfire. The campfire and the stars are just awesome on a clear night. Definitely recommend this place if you're interested in camping. read more

Nice and quiet place. Free wi-fi if needed. No cell service so you can almost unplug. Bathroom was clean, and shower rooms were excellent fairly good too, although the water drained slow enough that I was standing in my bath water. read more

Just got home from camping over labor day weekend. My husband and I felt like we won the lottery when we got a beach front space a few days before the weekend (someone had cancelled their reservation). I immediately booked having never been here. I was a little apprehensive due to the lack of privacy and how close it was to town but we absolutely loved it here and enjoyed the entire weekend. We had a beach front site with a tent in an RV space, but being surrounded by RV's did not bother us one bit. There are plenty of bathrooms with coin-op showers that are within close walking distance if you don't want to use your RV. There is also a dump station for waste. We arrived during a burn ban but it was lifted and we were able to enjoy a fire on the beach with our "neighbors" for the last night. Everyone there was just so nice. They all have been coming to that place for years. Everyone also seems to have a lot of flags and kites they like to place on their RV and their "lawn" camp areas, sort of a competition it seems or just a fun community thing for the summer. There is also a kite festival there as well. Easy walking distance to town for ice, beer, coffee, firewood, etc. Good for all types here- families with kids, younger couples without kids, retired folks, empty-nesters, etc. We had an unobstructed view of the ocean from our space (literally steps down some rocks to the sand). Prime real estate. For $36 a night you can't get any better of a deal. We had a memorable vacation. read more

Great little beach without a ton of traffic. Next time I will look into camping here. I stayed in a cottage across the street but ventured into the park during the day. Clean, well maintained and with lovely views. It seems like a very popular campground as I didn't see even one open space. You can even have fires on the beach. read more
