I have had good care at Willamette Dental. All the hygienist have been solid; they do a good job cleaning my teeth. My biggest complaint is that I have to fight to get two dental cleaning in a year. The American Dental Association recommends 2 cleanings per year and that is what I expect. I have good oral health because I do my regular brushing/flossing and scheduled cleaning and visits. Going once a year will make that appointment long and painful to scrap all the tarter off my teeth. I have tarter build up that I can see after 4-5 months after a professional cleaning. I shouldn't have to argue and fight to get 2 dental cleanings a year nor should I have to pay for that second cleaning when I pay the monthly insurance. Seems corporate profits is more important than patients needs. read more

Takes an act of congress to get an actual appointment. My wife had to wait for over three months after she called. They will only put you on a list for an appointment and won't let you schedule out in advance by even months. I finally got her an appointment by going in and asking what is taking so long. The staff here was pathetically stupid. The dental assistant didn't even know how to work the chair. The dentist was told I was in pain in the middle of the extraction and simply kept going. That is 100% unacceptable. Go somewhere else, anywhere else, you'll be glad you did. read more

Would recommend going anywhere else if you can. Unfortunately our insurance is with this company. Expect the minimal care and few appointments. They won't even provide two cleanings a year even though it's in our insurance plan. I tried to schedule my second cleaning and they flat out refused claiming "evidence based medicine" even though I have often been told that due to gum recession I should have more professional cleanings not less. Now it's been over a year and I finally had a cleaning appointment coming up but they last minute rescheduled for nearly 2 more months away. Sigh. read more

I have been using this office for three years, as well as my wife. I have been pleased with the friendly and attentive services rendered from the time you walk in to the time you leave. My wife and I have felt comfortable recommending them to friends in the area as well. The dentists are relatively young but seem to be well prepared and versed for any of the tasks performed. I have had a lot of issues with this dental group in my two years there: 1) Refusing to do twice yearly cleanings. Even when my insurance pays for it, they have said that it is not evidenced-based. They also do not do reminders for appointments like other clinics. 2) 30$ missed appointment fee. Honestly, I know it is my responsibility to remember my appointments but they are extremely harsh about this policy and offer no grace even when unexpected events arise, as are common. 3) Refusing to offer cleaning after I refused X-rays while pregnant. The office refused to go through with the cleaning I scheduled after I told them I wanted to defer the X-rays, even with lead shield, because I was pregnant. They do this if you refuse the 1-2 year apparently mandatory X-rays. I was told no fetal radiation exposure would occur and the vests protect "100%". In fact, research articles argue 0.5mm vests protect around 90-95% of exposure. While they are still considered safe, it still seems like a unnecessary risk to take for just a cleaning. The hygienist said they need X-rays "to diagnose" even with cleaning. Honestly, it was very harsh and the hygenists were very condescending and promptly showed me the door rather than treat me with respect. I shall be leaving this practice along with my son. People, even with different view points, deserve respect. read more

I had my first appointment with this group at their Corvallis office today, and I have to say I was really impressed by how friendly and professional everyone there was. This was a switch of dentists for me, going along with a change of insurance, and I wasn't quite sure what to expect! I'd definitely say the one drawback of Willamette is that you have to schedule appointments through their call center - I can recall being on hold for a while, and then it took a bit for me to give all my information over the phone before I could set up my actual appointment. That's what draws this down to a four-star review for me. But the office experience itself was definitely five-star! I was checked in promptly, taken back on-time, and the dental hygienist did a wonderful job with my new patient intake, x-rays, and routine cleaning. At the end, the dentist showed up promptly to meet with me and check everything over, and it was overall just a very pleasant experience (which is saying something for an office visit where sharp implements are poking at your gums!). I have no regrets about switching my insurance whatsoever. read more

I have been using this office for over the last 10 years and have had a good experience every time. The staff and providers are all incredibly friendly, kind, patient and helpful. I have had everything from cleanings, fillings, a root canal, and now braces. They are also amazing with kids, my son isn't' scared to go to the dentist and they make him feel comfortable and enjoy his experience. Good dental office, but lately, appointments are available for more than a month wait times.

I went to this dentist for two years with no problems. Scheduled an appointment to be seen when I was pregnant for a normal dental cleaning, I told the person scheduling that I would be 7 months ago. I showed up before the appointment and when the doctor saw I was 7 months pregnant I was refused to be seen by Ariel. Shortly after, I called the appointment line and relayed what had just happened. I was referred to the Albany office and was told that I could not transfer back to the Corvallis office. Would not recommend the Corvallis location and in particular, Ariel. read more

The hygienists there are very pretentious and rude. Would honestly recommend going elsewhere if you have a choice.

The front desk SARA is extremely rude.!!! She told me that is I paid $10 today to get duplicates of my daughters exrays that I can get them quicker than getting them on line. They have the worst phone system ever!!! Thought the Corvallis office has great staff and took the time to help me, getting in touch with them takes forever!!! The will not give out the office phone number and the automated system is redundant, and time consuming. I have spent over twenty minutes waiting to schedule an appointment. I have had no issues with the care I've received at this office, but the centralized process for getting an appointment is very frustrating. I have a work schedule that only allows me to take off certain days for appointments. When I call for an appointment, I am frequently told that my usual dentist is all booked up on the days I can come in. When I ask for a later date, then the schedule isn't open yet. I am told they will call me when the schedule opens. No one calls. I finally just took an appointment with a new dentist to actually get seen. I am fortunate that I have good dental health. If I had problems, this would be a much bigger issue than the simple frustration I feel now. No one at the call center is rude; they just have a terrible system. The care seems to be fine, but if this is the choice you have due to insurance, prepare to be frustrated when you make your appointment. read more

For the 2 years my kids were with Willamette Dental, we have always paid on time and always have insurance coverage. But my daughter was sent back home for her cleaning appointment scheduled 3 - 4 pm on 10/10/2016 because I told the office that I don't bring insurance cards to work place after a very long trip when my insurance cards were all locked in the Safer. I did mention to the staff that I have UnitedHealthCare Plus plan and I could only find a scanned card information in my hard drive so she may check if she could find dental service from there and let me know if that doesn't works, that was around 2:58 pm. 12 minutes later my daughter was driving home telling me that my insurance card didn't work, and they offered her to reschedule to one month later. I called back the office asking why they didn't call me back so I may pay cash or credit card, and I indeed by that time have found out my dental card was Signa? They couldn't give me a good explanation except rigidly stating my daughter is 18 now and can make a decision to reschedule. But they didn't know I am the one who pays for my daughter's expenses and my daughter knows nothing about my insurance. This is understandable if they can't trust a long term customer with good records, and are not sensitive enough to avoid rejecting a youth just turning to 18 with no fault of her own. The worse part upset me is the next. The office manager called me upon knowing my complaint and tried to fix the complaint by telling me how long they searched for my insurance card information and how much they run out of time until they didn't have time left to do the work for my daughter....and that 15 minutes was not enough to work on my daughter with cleaning and checkups. I told her that the information she provided was false (either the staff member was lying or the manager was lying) because my daughter's call to me was recorded in my phone system at 3:10 pm and that's when she already left the office and driving, so I estimated my daughter left the office around 3:08, which means there were about 52 minutes left on my daughter's appointment. Being unfriendly or rigid in rejecting my daughter for her appointment without asking me for options is not a big deal, but the lie or inaccurate information I was being told make me immediately withdrew my son and daughter from their services. read more

I went in thinking I would need dentures. 1 month later, I have 6 teeth fixed that I would have thought would have been yanked. Dr. Aaron Bynum and his staff were fantastic. My comfort level during the visit seemed to be the main focus of the visit, aside from fixing my teeth. They did a fantastic job. I was comfortable the whole time. I can't wait to go back for more.
